Bonjour Jolie August 2020 "The Bees Knees" Review

FYI: Some readers have noted having some issues with getting their boxes as well as some poor experiences with customer service. Please be sure to check reader comments before subscribing if you have any concerns!

This month's Bonjour Jolie box theme is "The Bees Knees" which is such a cute theme. The last time they did a bee-themed box, it was nicely done and well-received, so I was hoping this would be the same! My info card was missing this month, but they were able to send me a digital copy.

Let's start with the goods. All of your menstrual products will come in a discreet bag that usually fits within our theme.

When you sign up, you can choose up to 20 different menstrual products in any combination of tampons, pads, and liners. They offer a great selection of items from brands like Always, Kotex, and OB. You can check their selection out before you commit though, in case you are someone who has a preferred brand.

You can change your selections at any time by editing your profile, but keep in mind there might be a delay if you need to switch up your needs each month. The ability to switch it up is what I really like about this box and the fact that you can try new things without committing to an entire box of products.

Seventh Generation Ultra-Thin Regular Pads (20) - Buy 36 for $7.99

This month I went with all pads.

Summer's Eve Cleansing Cloths in Fragrance Free (2) - Buy a box of 16 for $1.79.

This month our cleansing cloths are fragrance-free. These are great to keep in your purse to refresh on-the-go.

Advil To-Go Packs (2) – Buy 50 2-packs for $8.20

These little packets each have two pills, just enough to help with cramps or headaches while on the go.

South Bee Farms HoneyComb Soap - Listed Value $6.00

This soap is made in small batches and has a glycerin base that's infused with honey. I didn't get much of the honey from the scent, it reminded me more of Dial, but it left my hands feeling clean afterward!

Burt's Bees Gloss Lip Crayon in Tahitian Sunset - Retail Value $8.99

This lip crayon from Burt's Bees makes perfect sense in this box. I have actually never tried their lip crayons before and this shade, Tahitian Sunset, is such a nice one to try! It goes on smoothly and is comfortable to wear. It also has shea butter, kendi oil, and jojoba oil in it to keep your lips moisturized as well.

I love the color!

Back to Nature Honey Graham Sticks, 1 oz - Buy an 8 oz box for $7.92

These were really tasty and my kids were happy to help me eat them. They would be great with some peanut butter or even better, with some s'mores dip since they seem like the perfect size for dipping! This actually wasn't listed on the card this month.

The rest of our snacks all came packaged together inside a mesh bag with a smaller mesh bag filled with candies inside of it.

Primrose Honey Candy - Buy a 3 lb bag for $21.99

Joyva Sesame Crunch - Buy a 3 lb bag for $20.39

The smaller bag had some yummy treats that weren't listed on the card and felt more like bonus items. There was a hard honey candy and then these delicious sesame honey candies that I will be on the lookout for because they were addictive and so good!

Beelife Honey Sachets from Brazil: Listed Value $0.75 (Buy 50 for $8.95)

Aroma Di Estasi from Hungary: Listed Value $1.26 (Buy 25 for $16.97)

White Lion Honey Pearls from Kenya: Listed Value $1 (Buy 40 for $19.40)

Also inside this bag were some different kinds of honey from around the world. What a cute idea! The kids and I had fun sampling and comparing the different types of honey.

Zee Zee's Honey Roasted Sunflower Kernels, 1.2 oz. - Listed Value $0.75 (Buy a box of 48 for $28.99)

I love sunflower seeds but I have never heard of these! They taste exactly like you would expect- similar to honey roasted peanuts, but with sunflower kernels instead. They made for a nice snack with the generous bag.

Planter's Honey Roasted Peanuts, 1 oz - Listed Value $1 (Buy a box of 10 for $2.98)

This little bag of honey roasted peanuts will be great to stash in my purse for when I need a snack on-the-go!

Toblerone Candy, 1.2 oz - Listed Value $1.49 (Buy a 1.76 oz bar for $1.49)

Now we're getting to the really good stuff! Toblerone bars are one of my favorite candies. They have delicious, chewy honey and almond nougat inside of the Swiss chocolate triangles.

Chuao Mini Honeycomb, 0.39 oz - Listed Value $1 (Buy 24 for $22.95)

I've never had this bar before, but it was a decadent treat with the semi-sweet dark chocolate and crispy bits of sweet honey throughout it. I could easily have eaten a full-size one!

Carnes Honey Coffee, 3 packets - Listed Value $0.75 (Buy 100 sticks for $28.99)

These little packets were an interesting find! Each packet has instant coffee with honey in it and I received one each of hazelnut, original mocha, and mild mocha flavors. I tried out the hazelnut and thought it had a pretty good flavor. It was a little weak, but not too sweet, which is perfect for me since I don't take sugar in my coffee.

Pukka Honey Tea Bags, 2 bags - Listed Value $0.60 (Buy a 20 ct. box for $5.49)

We also received these two tea bags which are both flavored with manuka honey. My husband and I decided to try them out and though both flavors were good. The chamomile was very relaxing while the lemon ginger had a nice zing to it. I also added some honey pearls to mine and it added just a hint of sweetness!

Verdict: I loved the theme of this month's Bonjour Jolie box and I thought all of the honey-flavored/bee-themed items were so much fun. They really went all out and I got to try a lot of new products that I never knew existed. This was such a fun way to receive my monthly necessities with some great extras to help me feel a little pampered and to satisfy my sweet tooth! This month's value was hard to estimate, but using a mix of listed and retail values I came up with a total of $28.58 which doesn't include the graham sticks or mini bag of candies. Not too bad for a $24.48 box, especially since a lot of the items were very unique!

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

SCAM. I wish I had read most of these reviews before I purchased from them. I purchased 3 months and wanted to cancel after that. So I emailed to cancel. However I was charged 98.04 for another 3 months and never heard back from them. I have sent several emails. And even tried to reach out on social media. I filed a complaint with the BBB. We will see what happens. Please please do not give them your CC info. Besides canceling my credit card I don’t know how to get them to stop charging me!?

I am so disappointed and hurt with this company. I’ve been subscribed for awhile and recently, I started to not receive my boxes, yet I kept being charged every month. I must’ve e-mailed them 50 times, with no answer, and the worst thing, the only way to cancel their subscription is through e-mail. Lesson learned – I will never subscribe to any company from now on where you cannot cancel directly from your account. Finally, they answer my e-mails telling me they will send one of my boxes out today. They sent me a tracking number on January 20th, 2021 that is still stuck on pre-shipment as of today, March 17th. After a few weeks of no boxes, I contacted my credit card company. They had the nerve to contest me getting my money back through my credit card! They even tried to use this same bogus tracking number as proof! If you trace this number via USPS / Canada Post it says pre-shipment, label created, and IT STILL DOES AS OF TODAY. To go to this extreme to rip someone off for a measly $40 is unheard of to me. And I don’t know why… Stay away from this company – I have never experienced anything like this in my lifetime. To send what can only be falsified documents as proof that an item was delivered is despicable. It’s not even about the money anymore – it’s the principle of the matter. Who would do something like this? The world is such a horrible place right now and these people make it even worse. How sad.

I’ve had so many problems with this subscription box. They do not respond to customer emails despite not being available in any other manner other than email. They’ve been charging my credit card even though I cancelled almost 2 months ago. I had to dispute the charges & file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to finally get them to respond & cancel my membership. After reading other reviews online, it appears this is not an isolated incident.

DIDO on the boxes not received. We have not received a box in 2 months, but they are still charging for them. They will not email back on what happened and now I’m out $50. Canceling this immediately.

I’m sad to see people having issues with Bonjour Jolie, I’ve used them for years and I’ve always got my box each month and I love the themes and fun items you send. I’m not a reviewer either. I’ve even received accidental double boxes a few times from them with only one charge and their customer service was great when I was missing an item

I have been getting there box off an on for at least 3 years. Never had any issues. Once my box was stolen off my porch, I sent them my Blink video, they mailed a new box out tha day. Their service was always great with me, I love them, personally it is awesome during this pandemic not to need to get my stuff at the store and get a virus on the side.

Only thing I noticed was mail takes like 3 times longer, but not just with them, with everything! I sent a box of presents to my nephews. It was priority mail which is supposed to be like 3-4 days. It took almost 3 weeks! I was like whhhatttt? Not sure why butt it as been happening to all my mail since March.

You have got to stop reviewing this subscription. It is a scam! They obviously know that you are a reviewer. (I’ve trusted MSA for their honest reviews for years, but am now starting to question this blog.) I should’ve listened to the commentators on your reviews of Bonjour Jolie
I have been charged 5 times since May and have only received on box (the June box) I have sent several emails, have only heard back once when they blamed my lack of boxes on their shipping partner. I have only ever received one email with actual shipping information for the one box I received.
And this is all so disappointing as my daughter really loved the box she received.

same issue for me as well

It sounds like you should get your bank or credit card company involved. 5 times with 1 box is crazy!

I’m sure MSA is one of few who actually received their box and within the month. I will not order from this company as I have 2 friends who have had trouble receiving their boxes even after multiple emails. Even months later, still no box!
