The Box By Fashionsta for Men is a monthly men's box brought to you by online beauty store, Fashionsta, for $29.99/month with free shipping. Each box will include 5-7 full-size skincare and other self-care products for men with an $80-$150 value. Fashionsta also offers The Box For Women ($24.99/month) as well as a mystery box that costs $40 as an add-on with a subscription or $50 as a one-time purchase.

The Box By Fashionsta for Men June 2020 Review

The Box By Fashionsta for Men comes with a simple info card that gives a short description of each included product. I am writing this review based on my husband's testimonial for each item! He is always down to try new products if I give them to him, so this was a fun and new journey for him into the subscription box world!

Pore Charcoal Mud Sheet Mask JJ Young by Caolion Lab - Retail Value $2.49

I love a good sheet mask, so I was really excited to see one that my husband could enjoy! Lucky for me, this mask came with a separate top and bottom, but my husband has a pretty big beard so he couldn't use the bottom part of the mask. Which meant that I got to use the bottom part! Couple's mask night anyone?! I have used many masks over the years, but I have never seen a sheet mask like this! It really is a sheet mask covered in a deep and grainy dark charcoal mud. It was sort of tricky to get both sides off of the mask and then get it situated on our faces, but once we got everything settled, the masks fit well and stayed on. The mask itself was super cooling at first as it tightened and became an even tighter fit. We kept our masks on for a little over 30 minutes before removing and washing. We both felt a little tight but super clean with a really lovely glow. This mask is absolutely something that I would buy again. It is made with charcoal and natural mud that works to eliminate blackheads and whiteheads by tightening and controlling oil.

MTech USA Kneck Knife Tool - Retail Value $6.89

This knife is made in the USA and is super sturdy. When I opened it I was like, oh wow a necklace, and then realized it was a knife, hahaha! My husband doesn't really camp or hunt or hike, but we are always doing projects outside around our house that he can use this for. He actually used it the other day when he was doing yard work and he said it was really handy to just keep it around his neck if he needed it again. It also has a trusty bottle opener that makes opening some beers while mowing the lawn on a hot summer day super easy!

Bottle Opener Baseball Hat by Foster & Rye - Retail Value $16.28

When I first took this hat out I was like, "Wow this is so nice, he is going to love this." Then I saw the bottle opener on the hat brim. It just makes a really cool looking hat feel a little less special when I saw it. My husband agreed that the hat itself is really nice! It is super thick and sturdy with a great wool material and snapback. He loved the logo and thought that the hat would look really cool year round! The bottle opener does make it feel like you could only wear it at specific times though, and my husband always has a bottle opener on his keychain so he didn't really see the necessity of having one on his hat. He did decide that he wanted to keep it though just in case he finds a time to wear it. Maybe while out hiking, boating on a lake, or even at a party? We don't really do a lot of those things anymore, but I do think he likes it enough that he will find an occasion to wear it!

OMG Hand Sanitizer Gel by Double Dare, 1.7 oz - Retail Value $5.50

We will take all of the hand sanitizers we can get! I honestly love that boxes have been sending these little bottles more lately because it allows me to stock up. We also have been keeping bottles in the car, in pool bags, diaper bags, you name it. Sanitizers are a part of daily life now. We have two kids so it is extra important for us to have a lot around. I received a bottle from this brand in a different box and have been loving it! This bottle meets the CDC recommendations to kill up to 99.9% of germs. Yay, bye germs!

Vida Body Spray by Keep It Handsome, 2.7 oz - Retail Value $20.00 (currently out of stock)

My husband isn't really a body spray kind of guy, but I really wanted him to give this a try! He used this a few times, twice in the morning and then later in the day to freshen up a bit. Unfortunately, each time he used it he determined a body spray might not be for him. I will admit, this did have a more feminine smell to it and did seem to be a bit more like something you could get at the store. I think if he were to wear a body spray, it would need to be pretty woodsy smelling like pine and leather and tobacco. While this didn't work for him personally, I could see this being a great gift item to give to someone that might already be a body spray lover!

Daily Shampoo by Keep It Handsome, 8 oz - Retail Value $20.00

My husband absolutely loved this shampoo! I have said in past reviews that he is super picky about shampoo, but he made a point to tell me that he wanted to keep this in the shower because he really liked it. So, a huge win right there! He has long hair so he doesn't wash it every day, which means he really needs something that is going to keep his hair clean for a few days. He said that this shampoo was tingly when he was washing; it left his hair feeling super soft while keeping it clean without getting greasy for at least three days. This shampoo is made with aloe vera, silk protein, and poppyseed extract to soothe and strengthen. He also mentioned that he really loved the smell because it was fresh and clean without being overpowering or too floral.

Hydrating Lotion by Wolf Project, 100 mL - Retail Value $19.50

Another product that my husband is loving! I am always trying to get my husband to use skincare products at least once a day, but that has been a challenge over the years. This product reminds me a lot of one that I use in my skincare routine, so I felt confident in talking him through how to use this and why it would be so great. I was very excited to see that he has been using this every morning! It leaves him a little shiny in a healthy, glowing way and is providing him with deep hydration without feeling greasy. What he says he loves the most is how fresh and clean it smells. This lotion is made with ginger root, bamboo extract, and tea tree leaves. It is super lightweight, perfect for the summer, and absorbs quickly. A huge win for both of us!

Verdict: This month's The Box By Fashionsta for Men was a hit! My husband has the things that he likes to buy, but he rarely treats himself with things unless he feels like he has to have it. I think that is what we both love about this box, it is a fun treat for him filled with things he didn't realize he might need. This month's products weren't as big of a hit as the last delivery, but he was able to find a use for pretty much everything! He loves the hat but really wishes it didn't have the bottle opener, and while he probably won't use the knife a ton, he has already been able to use it. The mask and the lotion were a huge hit, the lotion being used every day already, yay! The shampoo was probably his favorite product this month, leaving him feeling clean with soft hair. This month's retail value came to $90.66, which at $29.99 a month for this box you cannot beat that value! Even though not every product was a hit this month, I think that the products overall were pretty amazing! The quality is there and would make a wonderful gift for any guy in your life that might not always get a chance to gift something to themselves. The curation feels spot-on; I really can't say enough good things about this box!

They definitely need a man to review these boxes! I wouldn’t want a man speaking for me, that’s for sure.

Thanks so much for your feedback! We are always on the lookout for male writers to join our team and hope to be adding some in the future.

That hat is so tacky, yuck.

Agreed, it felt very young when we first opened it and even when he wears it he says he feels a bit silly.

My husband absolutely loved the knife. He felt the same as your husband about the hat, he (and I lol) thought it was a nice hat but the bottle opener on it was off-putting ruined an otherwise great item. He wears it to mow the lawn haha.

Totally agree! Thanks so much for your feedback and I’m glad you both are enjoying the box!

This doesn’t seem to ship international. I couldn’t select a country other than the United States.

Why doesn’t MSA get men to write reviews? It’s always weird reading male specific boxes as a third person point of view of your husbands or boyfriends. Just a thought.

and then maybe they can get the dogs and cats writing about pet boxes, kids writing about the kids boxes, and chickens writing about the chicken boxes! Lol. They’ve had various reviews by males over the years. Maybe it’s hard to find someone long term and/or reliable that’s interested in reviewing.

Agree. I don’t just want to know second hand “he loved it!”. I want to know how the person using it thought about it. Especially if we had a chance at getting a moisturizer review from someone with a beard, those are impossible to find.

Thanks for your feedback, David! My husband does have a beard, check out the hat photos. He said that he doesn’t put the lotion on his beard since lotion won’t really do much over a beard in terms of saturation. Beard oil is the best option if you have a beard and are looking for some hydration or help with ingrown.

I think she did a good job telling us what he liked and didn’t like. There are men writing reviews for other boxes such as tech, snacks, outdoor ans even boxycharm/makeup subscriptions. Her husband probably didn’t want to write a review since she got the point across.

There is actually only one man currently writing reviews and just one here and there. I agree with Break that I would love a couple male reviewers. I don’t expect the reviewers’ partners to write their own reviews since not everyone is a writer, which is why getting some more male reviewers who enjoy things like skin care would be great.
