Fortune Cookie Soap “What's Up, Succa?” June 2020 Review

Here is the info sheet for this month’s box.

Can’t Touch This! OCD Hand Sanitizer, no size listed -  Buy the 1 oz version for $2.49

This hand sanitizer has everyone’s favorite alcohol scent, but once that fades and germs are killed the scent of honeydew, watermelon, cucumber, and cactus water remains. I really pick up the notes of watermelon and honeydew with a slight cucumber tinge, and it makes me want a fresh, fruity drink. This may actually be one of my all-time favorite FCS scents- to the point where I’ve already purchased from the extended collection on their website and bought this scent in their deep conditioner.

Aloe-Ha Aloe Me Whipped Cream, 2 oz - Retail Value $6.99

The Aloe Me whipped cream lotion formula is one of my all-time faves from all lotion brands. The mixture of lotion with aloe vera means that this is lightweight and is absorbed quickly into my skin while adding moisture with none of the heaviness. Aloe-Ha has notes of iced pear nectar, blue agave, and coconut blossoms- as a whole the scent is pretty mild and not particularly interesting, though it still smells generically nice (to my nose, at least! No offense meant if this is your holy grail of scents).

Golden Hour SPF15 Shimmer Sunscreen Stick, no size listed - Buy the 0.4 oz version for $6.99

I am way too far into my love of skincare to ever use only SPF 15, but that doesn’t mean I can’t use this completely. There’s no real discernible shimmer in the formula, but it does leave a dewiness on my skin when I apply it to the high points of my cheekbones. It has a very faint scent of florals, agave sugar, cactus, and pear nectar, and the scent fades fast once applied to the skin.

Desert Stars Twinkle Tonic Exfoliating Toner, no size listed - Buy the 2.8 oz version for $12.99

I’m a big fan of exfoliating toners for my chemical exfoliant needs, and the first two ingredients in this one are hydrating aloe leaf juice and glycerin. That is paired with chemical exfoliants malic acid, tartaric acid, glycolic acid, and lactic acid as well as some citrus extracts. This has the potential to be irritating to some skin types due to the citrus extracts combined with the chemical exfoliants, so if you’re not sure if this would work for you I recommend only using it two or three times a week to start. It has a faint scent of fig, coconut, pink cashmere, and blonde woods, but that faded fast for me.

The Verdict: As a girl who was born and raised in southern Arizona, I loved the cactus theme of this box- it feels especially summery but in a way that’s personal to me. The star of the box for me this month was the hand sanitizer- along with being incredibly practical, the scent may be one of my all-time favorites. I always appreciate the fact that this is a low-cost monthly subscription that brings me joy while still also providing useful products, and my bath-and-body-loving heart has a definite soft spot for this subscription.

To Wrap Up:

They’re having a Christmas in July sale, for 24 hours, starting at 6 PM today (Friday) CST. A lot of things are already sold out.

If this is your thing, you might consider the Shea Bakery box. They haven’t been reviewed here since December, 2018, but they’re still around. They’re on the list of Black-owned businesses.

They have a mystery box once in a while, if you want to try it out. I bought the last one, and I’m very happy with it.

Loved the items in this subscription except too many perfume oils and sizes are so so tiny.

I love Fortune Cookies products, so I signed up, received June’s products and loved the scent. My daughter liked the product so much she decided she wanted to review a couple on her you tube channel. I ordered a couple of items for her to review on the 26th, on the 29th received tracking with a message that all products have been shipped.
As of today Fed-x tracking says Pending, that they are still waiting on package.
Trying to find out from customer service where package may be, sent message yesterday and today with order numbers, on their messenger as well as E-mail, so far have not heard back as to where my order is.
I really love fortune Cookies Products however shipping and customer service may be a deal breaker.
I realize things get messed up, no company is perfect. Just let the customer know something. After all you have there cash, and it is perfectly reasonable for them to inquire about their products.
