June 2020 Target Beauty Box “Beauty Trendsetters” Review

This month Target sent out some of their best, unique beauty picks.

This info card provides a short description of each item sampled and on the flip side a Target coupon good for $3 off a beauty purchase of $15 or more. This month I received an in-store coupon that also includes a promo code you can redeem online.

Moving on to Target Beauty Box’s beauty picks for June!

LUMIFY Redness Reliever Eye Drops, 0.013 fl oz – Estimated Value $1.09 (Buy 0.25 oz for $20.99)

Lumify is an awesome eye drop and beauty tool! The effects are so major, and even though this is not something you should use on a daily basis, I think it makes a big impact on your look for special occasions, like a job interview, first date, etc. Lumify uses a low dose of brimonidine to eliminate redness to reveal brighter, healthier-looking radiance.

I used one drop in my right eye (left in the photo), and wow! My eye is practically glowing, haha. Your eyes feel crisp when you apply these drops, but they don’t sting or cause discomfort.

Honestly pHresh Prebiotic Deodorant Sea Mineral, 0.7 oz – Estimated Value $3.11 (Buy 2.25 oz for $9.99)

I absolutely love this deodorant. It glides on, soothing the underarms, and its effects last all day long. This clean formula uses magnesium and prebiotics to target odor-causing bacteria, and it is also vegan and free of aluminum and baking soda! It has everything I want in a deodorant, including a very subtle and pleasant fragrance.

tenoverten Rose Polish Remover Wipes, 1 wipe – Estimated Value $1.25 (Buy 8 wipes for $9.99)

If you are like me, you love the look of a fresh manicure, but removing the polish is a chore that often deters you from even bothering. This polish remover cloth is a total game changer! It doesn’t have that awful drying effect that your everyday remover has, and it even smells like roses. The cloth is saturated with this oily formula which made it easy to use on both my fingers and toes. All of my polish was gone, and it did leave an oily residue, so washing my hands and feet (or at least using a wet wipe) was essential. I loved using this as a healthy alternative to regular polish remover, but the price is a little steep for a one-time use product.

Yuni Travel Shower Sheet Body Wipe, 1 wipe – Retail Value $1.50

I relied on these wipes when I was recovering from my C-section during my hospital stay. They are durably thick and large enough to instantly refresh and cover a lot of skin. I was happy with their cleaning performance, although they dried leaving a sticky surface behind; I always followed up with a thick coat of lotion, so I never minded that part.

Tanologist Drops Sunless Tanning Treatments, 0.02 fl oz – Estimated Value $.40 (Buy 1.01 oz for $19.99)

Packets never thrill me when unboxing a subscription, but I have to admit, I was pretty excited to try these tanning drops. I used about 2 drops, mixing them with my moisturizer and when I woke up… nothing! My usual tanning drops deliver an instant bronze after 2 drops (which is arguably too much color for my natural complexion), but with Tanologist drops I didn’t get any results. I would have tried again with a lighter moisturizer, but the packet leaked into my box. Errgh, packets!

Rae DeStress Capsules, 10 capsules – Estimated Value $2.50 (Buy a 60 ct for $14.99)

I have to be careful what type of supplements I’m using since I am still nursing, so to err on the side of caution, I gave this packet to Ryan to try. He took two in the morning; when he got back from 9 holes of golf, he said he played his best game, ever. Coincidence? DeStress uses L-Tyrosine, GABA, and Rhodiola to calm your mind and ease mental fatigue. This brand is gluten-free, vegan, and non-GMO!

Waterless Dry Conditioner, 0.98 oz – Retail Value $3.99

Now that my hair is much shorter, I really can’t use any moisturizing products or my hair falls so flat. I sprayed this with my arms fully extended then smoothed my hair with a brush. I actually liked this spray conditioner! It smells really good, almost reminding me of a tropical sunscreen. My frizz stayed tamed all day, even in the humidity, but I also had to wash my hair the next day.

Verdict: Target Beauty Box delivered some really unique beauty picks this month from some awesome brands. A lot of this month’s featured products were new to me, and I really enjoyed trying them all. I love collecting products from Target beauty boxes; thanks to them, I never have to shop for travel-sized products for vacation. The value of this box is $13.84, not too bad for the $7 box cost (which includes free shipping).

  1. BAD NEWS>>> TaRGET WEBSITE SAYS “SAY fAREWEll TO THEIR BEAUTY BOX TO MAKE ROOM FOR SOMETHING NEW”………….. SO, NO MORE 7 DOLLAR tARGET BEAUTY BOXES 🙁

    • I saw that today too! Probably a good thing though, as a lot of the boxes were very lackluster. Although many good items were included over the years, I’d rather pay a little more money and get a better assortment. What I don’t like: dry shampoo, toothpaste, foil packets of shampoo, laundry items and a few others. I loved the deodorant samples, face scrub/masks, lip glosses/lip balm, body wash/soap. I just hope they find a better variety of items and brands, even if it costs a little more.

    • I just saw that news – I’ve been checking their site daily since July 1, mainly because I wanted to add some of those Rae Destress supplements to the July beauty box order. Now to look at the minis and sets to see if there’s anything I like.

  2. I bought 2 of these because I love trying and using only natural deodorants, and this one actually kept me from having BO at the end of the day.. Also, I love the smell of the dry conditioner… I just wonder WHEN will JULY come out?? I am so tired of checking , every hour, to see if it’s out yet 🙁

    • Typically they seem to come out the first Monday of the month, so I’d look first thing Monday morning for the July box.

      • Thanks for the tip..I never noticed it was a Monday! Thanks again

      • Thank you!

  3. I swear by lumify drips and I use them daily With my makeup unless I’m not going anywhere. They make my eyes so much brighter

  4. Great review! 😊👍

    • Thanks for reading! 🙂

  5. I got that dry conditioner to review a while back and I have really thick frizzy hair, I also had to wash my hair the next day. Agreed it smells good and works well but next morning my hair definitely needed washed lol.

  6. I was okay with this box. Really like the deodorant. Happy that it did not contain baking soda which turns my armpits dark. I liked the capsules and will probably purchase the 39 day supply. I gave the polish remover to my daughter. She will definitely give it a try. I have used Lumify and I am really amazed with the results. The waterless spray was nice, but it is best for the day before washing my hair as a refresher. I don’t have the nerve to try the tan drops on my face. Not a lot of value, but I like the contents. Happy to have discovered the supplements. With all the complaining I read on the spoilers for this box, I purchased it in spite of the whining. You never know what you might find that you really like.

  7. I ordered this box and was especially happy with the Rae Destress capsules. They contain a blend of ashwagandha and bacopa, which I’d been wanting to try to see if it would help my memory. I noticed improvement in only two days — and I’ll be buying the 60-count bottle ($14.99 isn’t a bad price for it).

I’m surprised they don’t highlight the fact that this product has a proprietary blend of such effective memory-boosting supplements! I didn’t see any mention of it either on their site or Target’s, but it was listed on the back of the sample packet above the L-Tyrosine, Rhodiola, and GABA that they tout.
