Simply Earth Essential Oil Recipe Box Review

Ready for another month of oils?

The first things I grabbed from the package were two cards with a note from Katie (the curator and aromatherapist behind this box!) and all the info on the included oils this month. It also let me know that 13% of my purchase cost was donated to Dton Naam, a non-profit dedicated to helping boys and young men that were forced into human trafficking with programs, counseling, and education. It makes me feel extra excited to support companies that give back and deliver awesome boxes.

Also included were 6 recipe cards and coordinating stickers to use on all my handmade items!

Now, for the oils I received this month:

Tangerine Essential Oil, 15 ml - Retail Value $9.99

From Simply Earth:

Tangerine’s fresh citrusy smell can have a refreshing and rejuvenating effect, while at the same time providing support to the immune system and soothing a queasy stomach.

I have mentioned before that Sweet Orange is one of my favorite oils, and Tangerine has a very similar vibe, but a little zestier to my nose! It is a wonderful oil for adding to white vinegar to use as a kitchen cleaner and diffusing to brighten your entire house.

Marjoram Essential Oil, 15 ml - Retail Value $15.99

From Simply Earth:

Marjoram is an herb that is calming and warming, which makes it great for using before bed at night! Marjoram can be used to relieve menstrual pain and provides relief from seasonal threats.

Marjoram is an herb closely related to oregano, and while they smell similar, marjoram is sweeter! This is a really herbal scent that blends beautifully with the tangerine oil for an earthy and bright scent that is perfect for a summertime scent boost in your diffuser.

Good Vibes Essential Oil Blend, 15 ml – Retail Value $15.99

From Simply Earth:

Support hormonal wellness and positivity with Good Vibes Essential Oil Blend. Moodswings, hot flashes, and skin blemishes are all symptoms associated with hormonal imbalance that this blend can help soothe. This blend has a well-balanced floral and citrus aroma that can help ease feelings of anxiety and promote positivity.

This is a blend of clary sage, geranium, lavender, lemon, and ho wood oils. It is actually quite mild and refreshing!

Ladies' Choice Essential Oil Blend, 15 ml – Retail Value $15.99

From Simply Earth:

Ladies, tired of PMS disrupting your week?  Ladies' Choice Essential Oil Blend gives you a weapon against monthly discomfort.

This is a very ladylike blend of clary sage, marjoram, geranium, and lavender. It is very soft and sweet, and I can see how this would certainly be a comforting blend.

1 oz Container

I like to use these little containers to make blends that involve some sort of liquid carrier oil because the small size allows me to experiment and take blends on the go!

1/2 oz Container

This little pot is perfect for stashing lip balms or lip scrubs.

Lavender Buds, 0.1 oz

Lavender is one of my favorite scents and dried buds add both fragrance and beauty to any essential oil DIY project.

I decided to try out the Balance Bath Soap recipe this month!

I did cut this recipe in half because two cups of salt seemed like a TON and I only wanted enough for one bath. I also want to mention that the coconut oil can make your bath feel slippery, so exit with caution before enjoying your silky smooth skin!

Verdict: Simply Earth this month had two lovely oils and two well-done blends. I liked all of the scents included this month! The included extra containers were very handy to have around and of course, I am always thrilled with more dried lavender buds!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No—if you subscribe today, you'll receive the June box as your first as well as the big bonus box!

Value Breakdown: This box costs $39.00 (with free shipping) so each of the 7 items in the monthly box has an average cost of $5.57.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

This is a great EO service. They offer a whole online education course with your subscription which I found pretty impressive. One of my favorite features is that you get a sneak peek at what is in the next month’s box and you’re able to swap oils if you already have those oils in your current collection.

Hey Megan, I really want to order the starter box, but I know I don’t need/can’t afford a subscription each month. Is it easy to pause or cancel?

I received this box . I want to say it’s a great box , it really is, it just wasn’t for me. 3 of the 5 items had lavender in it. I’m allergic. Bummer. I could have kept the marjoram and tangerine but I ended up leaving it as a set to gift to someone else, since the recipe cards use all 4. The theme was PMS and hormones. I had to have a hysterectomy at a young age. This boxes,’ theme brought up allergies and bad memories. None of this is the companies fault. I do wish they listed the ingredients and themes before ordering for those of us with allergies. To learn the ingredients of their mixes you have to go into a few clicks per product to see what oils they used. I was going to order bottles but trying to find out what was in each mixed product became too time consuming so I gave up.
The customer service is excellent, my first box was lost in the mail. Again an issue that wasn’t simply earths fault. We could both see the tracking just stopped in grapevine Texas. I’m guessing the box fell off a conveyor belt or something.
Even though this box was totally not for me I would still recommend the company. If you’re female and younger this box is for you. Male, had a hysterectomy or menopausal then skip it.
