JustFab is a monthly clothing, shoes and accessories subscription that allows you to shop in two ways - you can shop the regular store, or you can sign up for their VIP membership. VIP memberships work like this:

  • Take the Style quiz to note your size and style preferences.
  • Each month, JustFab releases a new collection and they will curate looks that match your preferences which you can view in your personalized Boutique.
  • Shop those looks at 40% off what you’d get just paying retail, or skip the month. You have to make your decision by the 5th of the month. If you do neither, the $39.95 monthly membership fee will be saved to your account as a credit, which you can put towards other outfits later.
  • As you shop, you’ll also earn points that can be applied towards future purchases.

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

JustFab May 2020 Review

I get a lot of questions about how this subscription works and since it is a bit confusing I figured I'd walk you through the process:

Signing Up

The first step to signing up is to take a short quiz to answer some questions about your style, or you can just skip that and go straight into registering for an account with your name, email address, and your shoe size. Then they will take you to your "boutique" which are some items they recommend for you. While the $10 offer seems like it can only be applied to shoes, it will also take 40% off any clothing or accessories, which will be the price shown in red. Of course, once you go to check out, they may offer you some additional deals, so I recommend finding a few items and seeing how much you can save! Just a warning- they do sell out of items, especially in certain sizes, so if you are in love with something, don't hesitate!

First Purchase

Just for fun, I added these slide sandals to my cart. Now you can see they ring up as only $10 so long as you select that you are joining their VIP membership. I've also included the terms of their membership program. FYI - I have successfully canceled an account in the past without having to call in.

Here you can see the difference between the VIP savings (left) versus just shopping without a membership.

Monthly Membership

Each month you can avoid paying the $39.95 membership fee by simply going into "My Account" and then selecting "Skip the Month" and once it says "You've Skipped" you can just forget about this until next month with no obligation to shop or buy. You could also shop that month to avoid the credit, but I much prefer skipping and then shopping at my leisure, or even better, waiting for a sale to shop! Also, you get points for shopping and for reviewing items you've purchased which can be redeemed for a % off or even just $ off which can add up fairly quickly. Although, sometimes the way the credit applies to sale items can get a bit tricky, so you may have to play around with it a bit to make sure you're getting the best deal.

Summary

  • It's $10 for your first pair of shoes or 40% off clothing or accessories for your first purchase.
  • Set a reminder to skip each month so you don't end up with a credit you don't want.
  • Shop the sales!

Now let's get into my items for this month!

Inside my package was a wine voucher for Naked Wines (check out Megan's review!) and a coupon for Function of Beauty.

I also received an invoice with some information about returns and exchanges on the back which is a pretty simple process. Since my birthday was at the end of April I received a 30% off coupon to use this month and I decided to treat myself to a new outfit to wear for these warmer days we've been having.

Bermuda Distressed Denim Shorts in Dark Wash - Retail Value $59.95, VIP Price $39.95

The first thing I decided I needed were some new shorts. Even though these are listed as distressed, they are very lightly distressed, which matches my style. I wasn't sure if I would like the fringed look at the hem, but I think they are pretty cute! The wash is really nice, not too dark, but a color that will pair well with a lot of my current tops. These have a bit of a stretch to them and they are high waisted with a button and zipper closure and 5 pockets. I ended up paying $24.45 for these, which isn't bad for denim shorts.

Button Front Tie Sleeve Top - Retail Value $42.95, VIP Price $29.95

I wanted a lightweight, casual top that I could pair with my Bermuda shorts for a beachy/summery look that would be cute, but still comfortable and this top looked like it might fit the bill. It does look a bit different in person since the blue isn't quite as muted as in the photos, but I still like the color. I ended up paying $20.98 for this top, which is pretty on par with boutique pricing, but still a bit of a splurge to me. Since I ended up really loving it, it was worth the cost to me!

The shorts ended up being a bit shorter on me than I thought they would be, which I don't mind, but they are definitely a little quaran-tight at the moment, too, if you know what I mean! They have a little bit of stretch to them and they are super high waisted which means it helps your tops fit much better since it conceals a bit more. While I really like the shorts, I am so in love with the top! It is so soft and silky and honestly, I think this is one that looks better in person. Both my husband and my sister commented on how much they liked my top (you know, the only two people I saw that day). I felt stylish, but still casual and very comfortable which is exactly what I was hoping for. I love that it's longer in the back too. It's a bit sheer in the photos, but up close you really can't see through it (swipe for a closeup)!

The Verdict: This outfit from JustFab was just the look I was going for - casual, cute, and perfect for warm weather. I really love the top and I know I will get a lot of use out of the shorts, too. I was happy with the quality and since this was a little bit of a birthday splurge, I think that paying $49.97 for a nice top and denim shorts (after taxes, with free shipping) isn't too bad! It's definitely not a steal, but considering the retail value of these is $102.90 and the VIP value is $69.90, I am happy with my choices!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, these items are all still available as of publication!

ACTIVE DEAL: Get your first pair of shoes for $10! No coupon needed - just use this link.

Value Breakdown: The total retail value for these 2 items is $102.90, and the VIP price is $69.90, but after taxes (and free shipping) my total was $49.97. That's a discount of about 51% off retail and about 29% off VIP.

Love the outfit on you!

Question: Do they ever list brand names? I ask because when shopping online I can go from past experience on sizing etc. Clothes shopping is a difficult thing for me as getting sizing right isnt easy. Thank you

Thanks, M! Most of the items are always branded as JustFab. This top seems to be an exception though! While it wasn’t listed as the Favlux brand you could see it on the tag from the photos on their site, but for the most part the pieces are JustFab branded. Sizing is a bit difficult to get right at first here, but if you have time to wait, exchanges are free and relatively simple!

Ohhh I’m feeling the Quaran-tight vibe lol! I went back to work last week and I literally just held up my jeans and said that’s not going to happen..

Thanks, Maddie in PA! I’m glad you appreciated it – my husband doesn’t find me as amusing these days. 😂
