Bonjour Jolie April 2020 "Keep Calm & Stay Home" Review

This month's Bonjour Jolie box theme is "Keep Calm & Stay Home" and they included this card which details all of the items we received this month. I love the beautiful pattern on the card and paper this month and I appreciate the timely theme!

Let's start with the goods. All of your menstrual products will come in a discreet bag that usually fits within our theme. I love this cute succulent pattern.

When you sign up, you can choose up to 20 different menstrual products in any combination of tampons, pads, and liners. They offer a great selection of items from brands like Always, Kotex, and OB. You can check their selection out before you commit though, in case you are someone who has a preferred brand.

You can change your selections at any time by editing your profile, but keep in mind there might be a delay if you need to switch up your needs each month. The ability to switch it up is what I really like about this box and the fact that you can try new things without committing to an entire box of products.

Seventh Generation Tampons, Regular (18) - Retail Value $6.99

This month I chose a mix of tampons and pads. I like that they have an organic cotton option now!

Seventh Generation Ultra-Thin Overnight Pads (2) - Buy 28 for $7.99

I finished out my order with 2 of these overnight pads.

Summer's Eve Cleansing Cloths in Simply Sensitive (2) - Buy a pack of 16 for $3.45

Each month they include a few cleansing cloths which are great for those days when you might need to freshen up on the go.

Advil To-Go Packs (2) – Buy 50 2-packs for $9.01

These little packets each have two pills, just enough to help with cramps or headaches while on the go.

Fine Works of Art Adult Coloring Pack – Retail Value $9.99

Since everyone is stuck at home these days, this coloring pack with 12 black and white fine art images on them is a great way to stay busy! Coloring is a great way to de-stress and my kids and I had a great time coloring these together. I enjoyed the range of artists and styles they included and I thought it was fun to put my own spin on them! While there is a website listed on the packet, it seemed to be a dead link, but the retail value was printed right on the front. I love that the money goes to support local artists!

Crayola Colored Pencils 12 Pack - Listed Value $2.99 (found here for $1.89)

In order to complete our coloring, they included a set of 12 colored pencils for us which were pre-sharpened and ready to go!

Sea Jewels Creations Lemongrass Hand Sanitizer, 6 oz. - Retail Value $6.50

Hand sanitizer is a hot commodity right now so I was happy to see this generous travel-size bottle at 6 oz! This is a vegan formula with aloe and a very light lemongrass scent. It can get a bit sticky if you use too much, but it is not drying at all and leaves my hands feeling hydrated instead which is nice!

Human + Kind Body Souffle in Cucumber & Melon, 1 oz. - Listed Value $2.99 (Buy a full-size 6.76 oz for $18.50)

Since everyone's hands are probably a bit dry from excessive washing at the moment, they included a small bottle of lotion for us. This one is cucumber & melon scented and it smells great! Since it is a body souffle, you can use it all over. It absorbs well and leaves my skin feeling soft.

Knott's Berry Farm Strawberry Shortbread Cookies, 2 oz - Listed Value $1.00 (Buy a box of 12 for 23.95)

These were pretty yummy! A nice light shortbread cookie with a fresh chewy strawberry center. I shared these with my family and they were gone in no time!

The rest of our goodies came packaged together in this mesh bag.

Nutty Buddy Wafers, 2.1 oz - Listed Value $0.50 (Buy a box of 12 bars for $11.99)

I don't think I was ever a big Nutty Buddy fan as a kid (I preferred swiss cake rolls and fudge rounds!), but these were a delicious treat that I reluctantly shared with my kiddos who were asking for more once they were gone!

Cocoa Krispies Treats, 0.78 oz - Listed Value $0.50 (Found in a 16 count variety pack for $3.89)

I love homemade Rice Krispie treats, but I've never been a fan of the packaged ones and unfortunately, the chocolate didn't help as much as I hoped it would!

Cadbury Caramello, 1.6 oz  - Listed Value $1.00 (Looks like these are out of stock everywhere at the moment!)

I love Cadbury's and this Caramello filled with light, sticky sweet caramel was a delicious treat that I kept all to myself!

Flipz Milk Chocolate Minis, 1 oz. - Estimated Value $1.12 (Buy a pack of 24 for $26.99)

Chocolate covered pretzels are always a welcome treat in our home!

Lorna Doone Shortbread Cookies, 6 cookies - Listed Value $0.75 (Buy a 3-pack for $1.99)

This pack had 6 cookies which made for a nice little treat to share with my kiddos!

Nutella Spread, 0.88 oz - Listed Value $1.99 (Buy 16 jars for $19.18)

How cute is this little jar of Nutella? This is another treat I haven't had in quite some time, but one that will be gone in no time, I'm sure!

Tazo Tea, 3 bags - Listed Value $0.75 (Buy a 16 ct. box for $3.99)

This month we received three Tazo tea bags from their Foragers collection, which feels fitting for the times! There is an Elderberry Blackberry, Prickly Pear Cactus, and a Wild Apple Sasparilla. I'm not sure which to try first! These are all caffeine-free and I've needed all the caffeine I can get lately so I haven't tried them just yet.

Verdict: This month's Bonjour Jolie theme was perfect for this stressful time and I loved that they included some essentials like the hand sanitizer and plenty of snacks. The curation of these boxes is always so thoughtful and useful making it a real treat to receive, especially if it's that time of the month for you. It's a great little pick-me-up box! The total value this month using a mix of listed and found retail values comes to $38.44 which is pretty good for a $24.48 ($16.50 + $0.99 tax + $6.99 shipping) box!

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

It would be nice if they could post on their subscription website that they are not shipping right now. We have missed the last 2 boxes of a 3 month sub and just get a pre-written script back they are working from home.

After issues with the first three boxes, I cancelled my 6 month sub via email. Customer Service emailed back to confirm my cancellation, but my card still shows up in my account and the account still shows a renewal date. I have not received the May box at all, and multiple emails to them have gone unanswered. A quick search online showed that this has been a common theme for them.

My daughter LOVED her first box. She even got an eye shadow pallet. It arrived on her first day so the treats were perfect

This was their best box yet!

Perfect curation for the times.

I was shocked to see they had hand sanitizer included, I can’t find it anywhere that isn’t jacked up to 10x what it is worth.

I also like seeing they use small companies too, not just the big ones.

I’m surprised they are still in business. Their customer service is trash

These subscriptions are looking more useful these days. I tried to buy supplies at an online pharmacy and nearly everything was out of stock! And then even one of the big box stores had slim pickings. Never occurred to me that this would be an issue – it’s not like anyone is using more of them now.

I was so excited for this box. I signed up the second week of April and waited the 10 business days. No tracking email and no box. So, I emailed customer support. Nothing! My next payment was due May 5th and I was worried because I never received last months. Mysteriously my date changed to May 8th as my pay day after emailing on May 4th to cancel the subscription and refund me for the box they never sent. So far no word from their customer service.

Ashleigh, the one time I tried this box I didn’t receive mine until after I emailed them. After that, I unsubscribed. I haven’t had the nerve to try it again after that.

So the maker of this box goes to Costco and buys tampons and junk in bulk and doles it out to you all for a profit. I’m unsettled!

Brandi D.

My tracking is never correct with this box. I can always see that it was shipped, but it doesn’t ever update and sometimes will do strange things before just showing up at my door one day with no notice. I’m not sure why it happens! Hopefully yours will arrive in the next few days! If not, I would contact customer service. I’ve always had a good experience with them so hopefully they can help you!
