Glow by Local Eclectic Jewelry Review - Winter 2020

From start to finish this box had a great unboxing experience. This month, we received some art prints by women artists.

My favorite is the one by Sacree Frangine!

The info book contained more information about the designers of the jewelry we received.

Bunny Velvet Scrunchie Set, 3 ct -  Buy 3 for $12 in a similar style from Free People

We received a set of velvet bunny scrunchies, and I am in LOVE. Along with helping me embrace my inner '90s girl, these are also just completely adorable- and it is pretty easy to position the bunny ears so they poke up.

La Kaiser Emerald Fleurette Ring - Buy this identical style made with diamonds and sapphires for $340

I almost never wear rings, but this is going to be the ring that changes that. Along with fitting perfectly, I think it is the perfect combination of class, sparkle, and color. The stones are CZ (cubic zirconia), but they still pack a sparkly punch, and they are set in a vintage-inspired base in 14K gold plated over sterling silver.

Kamaria Aura Necklace - Estimated Value $65 (based on similar styles from the brand)

The dreamy opal on this necklace has me swooning, and unlike last quarter this necklace actually has a chain length that should fit almost anyone. The chain is 18 inches and features a sliding lobster clasp that can adjust the length of the necklace. I wish there was more than one loop to attach the clasp to, but I absolutely adore the pave crystal setting the lab-created opal sets in. The chain is also gold-plated sterling silver, too.

Here is where the necklace rests on me with no adjustments to the length. Look at that sparkle and shine!

Verdict: This box is on the pricier end, and I appreciated that Glow by Local Eclectic created such a lovely unboxing experience and chose beautiful pieces. The quality of the jewelry is definitely there- when wearing these pieces I feel like I am genuinely wearing artisan jewelry rather than fast fashion. All of the jewelry in this subscription is exclusive, so while I was able to find similar styles for sale in different colors, the exact colors and stones used in this subscription will not be for sale.  If you are a fan of dainty, delicate jewelry I definitely recommend checking this out- it feels like a special once-a-quarter treat.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive the Spring box.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $99 with free shipping, which means you are paying $49.50 per piece of jewelry.

Put $100 away or even $150 a month for a year instead of this box..
You can get a beautiful diamond piece of jewelry instead. One your actually able to re sell in the future on eBay in times of hard ships.

Thats what I do.. Every birthday I pick out a beautiful piece instead of throwing money away on something like this that no one would pay $5 used on eBay.

to the end of fast fashion! ::clinks my two, small bottles of nearly empty hand sanitizer together::

beautiful necklace, pretty ring, i wouldn’t mind spending $39.99 a month to get a well, made piece of jewelry.. i wonder if they would consider a piece a month for subscriptions? like others have written, $99.99 a month is very pricey and outside my budget.

thank you to all, that are buying and/or creating more locally and supporting craftsmanship vs fast fashion.

This is quarterly. My husband bought birthstone rings for our daughter and me, and they’re beautiful. They were ~$75 each and I think worth it.

Necklace is very cute!

I guess I missed the review for last quarter, so I went back to check it out, & it seems like the pieces from that box & this box will mix & match well together.

I do have to agree with other comments that this box is a bit pricey.

This prices are crazy, I own an online store and I have sterling silver jewelry (necklace and earrings) with natural turquoise pieces and my prices are not close to this.

Yeah, CZs are really cheap, especially for ones that small, and the green stone is CZ too. Whereas the linked ring is not CZ at all.

For the record, I love costume jewelry and have a lot of it, and there is nothing wrong with CZ or even glass, but it’s not emerald and isn’t worth anywhere near $340. Also gold plated is a world of difference in price compared to, well, gold.

I know MSA comments often filter links, so could you post the name of your store? I’d love to check it out.

Gorgeous jewelry

If this sub lasts through the pandemic and decreases the price .. to expensive ..
I might think about subbing. A lot depends on the economy. Jewelry is a want verses need

Super cute pieces! Too spendy for me, and I don’t wear any type of gold. If they had a cheaper silver option I would be super tempted!
