This month’s Cocotique box is the "Social Distancing is Self-Care" edition, featuring the Dove Amplified Textures collection. I love how socially relevant this month's theme is.

The box also comes with a reusable tote bag each month. I love this element! I think it is commendable when brands promote less-waste options. The cute little saying, "Social Distancing is Self-Care" is incredibly relevant and brightens the current circumstances we're all living with.

Dove Amplified Textures Twist In Moisture Shaping Butter Cream, 10.5 oz - Full Size! Retail Value $6.99
This is the first line of Dove products I've seen that is specifically designed for curly hair. This shaping butter cream functions something like curly pudding in my mind. It smells great and gives you tight, bouncy curls for all your wash-and-go styles. The cream has the Dove signature moisturizing feel and the formula is infused with jojoba and is paraben- and dye-free. I'm very excited to receive this product and the fact that it's full size is a plus.

Amplified Textures Moisture Lock Leave-In Conditioner, 11.5 fl oz - Full Size! Retail Value $6.99
With a light floral scent, this leave-in conditioner makes locking in moisture super simple. I've used this the last two times I've washed my hair and followed with some coconut oil, and have seen a visible difference in my hair. The formula is very creamy and detangles as you work it through your hair, which is a nice bonus. It doesn't harden or leave a crunchy texture or residue after drying.

Amplified Textures Shine & Moisture Finishing Gel, 8 fl oz - Full Size! Retail Value $6.99
With an alcohol-free and aloe-infused formula, this finishing gel moisturizes deeply while adding a shine to your curls. It pulls all the little frizzy hairs back into one beautiful curl. The product has a much less sticky texture than I expected and I was easily able to work it through my curls as the last step of my wash-and-go process.

Reshma Kale Face Wash, 5.07 fl oz - Full Size! Retail Value $5.99
Infused with kale, this vitamin-rich face wash detoxifies your skin while brightening and reducing the appearance of dark circles. I absolutely love anything that brightens and reduces dark circles because I have a tendency to be more of a night owl, which causes me to wake up looking like a raccoon. I am excited to use this over the next month and see if I notice any visible difference in the illumination of my skin and reduction of dark circles.

Palmer's Skin Success GLOW Water Lily Face Cream, 2.07 oz - Full Size! Retail Value $7.95 (currently sold out)
This face cream has a thick moisturizing consistency. I needed only very, very little for my whole face. Palmer's Skin Success GLOW Water Lily Face Cream formula is designed to brighten skin tone and even complexion. After two weeks, they say you'll be able to see a visible difference in dark spots as they start to fade away. I have acne scars leftover from my high school experience and I am thrilled to see if two weeks using this product yields any results.

BIO MIRACLE Star Dust with Glitter Brightening & Hydrating Peel-Off Mask, 1.05 oz - Full Size! Retail Value $5.99
Who doesn't love a peel-off mask? Who doesn't a peel-off mask filled with sparkly glitter that brightens and hydrates your skin? This formula tightens pores while moisturizing, restoring, and replenishing skin. It's also incredibly fun to peel off your face.

Vitabath Lavender Chamomile Body Cream, 1 oz - Estimated Value $1.12 (Buy a full-size 8 oz for $8.95)
This is a repeat product from the February box and one of Cocotique's subscriber favorites. For me, this moisturizer is very strongly scented and I'm not one for lavender, so this will be passed on as well. The product is formulated for intense moisture with no harsh chemicals and all-natural butters and oils. But if you enjoy heavily scented moisturizers and the relaxing scent of lavender, this body cream might just be for you.

NICKA K NK Make-Up Lip Gel in Bubble Gum, 0.5 fl oz - Full Size! Retail Value $1.99
This lip gel has a bubble gum scent, reminiscent of middle school fun. The formula is lightweight and hydrating with argan oil added. It goes on smoothly and leaves a shiny mirror finish. I myself don't prefer lip glosses, simply because my curls get stuck in it. But if you love a shiny lip look with a light pink tint, this lip gel might be something you want to try.
The Verdict: This month's April 2020 Cocotique box is a homerun for me. I love how they started everything off with a bang by making the theme "Social Distancing is Self-Care." It feels like the company has made an effort to take into consideration everything going on in the world right now and attempt to make it a little brighter with their subscription. The bonus bag included also had "Social Distancing is Self-Care" printed on the front, which tied in the theme beautifully. I am thrilled that we subscribers were able to try three items within the new Dove Amplified Textures collection. I love the Twist In Moisture Shaping Butter Cream, the Moisture Locking Leave-In Conditioner, and the Shine and Moisture Finishing Gel from the new collection. I'm always happy to get a face mask of any kind, and I happen to really love peel-off masks, so the Bio Miracle Stardust with Glitter Brightening & Hydrating Peel-Off Mask is another win for me. I'm also excited to try the Palmer's Skin Success GLOW Water Lily Face Cream and see if it promotes any visible fading to my dark spots. The Reshma Beauty Kale Face Wash is a great practical staple; face wash is always something that I need and will use, and this product has a very natural formula, which is ideal for my sensitive skin. The NICKA K NK Make-Up Lip Gel in Bubble Gum is a little too sticky for me, but I do love the scent and the awesome neon pink color. Lastly, the Vitabath Lavender Chamomile Body Cream is a repeat from the month of February but also a subscriber favorite. Even though it's not for me, I'm sure there are a lot of people out there who love it, so I feel it was a great choice to include in this month's box. The estimated total value of this box is $44.01. I think that is a great deal and I love how this box sends something for your skin, makeup products, and a complete hair system. I think the variety is great, and especially with everything going on now, it may be ideal to have everything you need for your skin, body, and hair care come right to your front door. I'm certainly a fan of this box!
