Nomadik "Quick Trip Essentials" February 2020 Review

There is a small trifold pamphlet that goes over the three items included in this month's box as well as Nomadik tips, the Nomadik challenge, and some brand discounts.

Coalatree Nomad Packable Duffle Bag - Retail Value $24.00

I've started a nice little collection of folding packs, but this duffle has already proven to be quite handy. I'm always lugging around product from work to home along with a uniform that I need to change into for school. This light nylon bag can fold into a small square so it's great for travel, but once expanded it measures 18 inches long and has a diameter of 9 inches. The handles are sturdy reinforced nylon so that I can pack this baby full without it ripping.

Vapur .07 L Wide Mouth Anti-Bottle in Translucent Grey - Retail Value $9.99

I'm the type of person who likes to travel with a water bottle so I can always refill on the go without buying more plastic (or throwing it away). The only issue is that with my current stainless bottles, they take up a lot of precious space. This plastic BPA bottle folds flat when empty so it can fit in the tiniest places until ready to fill up with water. It also happened to come in my favorite color- grey. So rad!

Gear Aid 550 Paracord in Orange, 30 ft. - Retail Value $6.50

As someone not familiar with most camping gear yet, I learned from this item that the 550 number in its name means it will hold up to 550 pounds! As unexciting as a 30-foot nylon rope sounds, this is actually going to be really great since I don't currently have anything to suspend my gear from or tie anything down with while out in the wilderness. I'm also learning that this has a ton of uses and comes with a carabiner to help with some of those. I'm a fan of the bright orange as well because outdoors, I always want things to be highly visible.

Gear Aid Camp Carabiner - Retail Value $10.95

This handy plastic and metal carabiner will allow me to hang my pack, lantern, food, or other camping gear off the ground and out of reach from unwanted visitors. Because of its lock design, it also won't slide around on the cord once it's in place. I'm glad that Nomadik sent this along with the 550 paracord since it's compatible and really completes this part of essential camping gear for a newbie like me!

Verdict: I really appreciated this month's Nomadik since it hooked me up with some simple essentials that I didn't yet have. Now I have a cord and camp carabiner to hang for a clothesline or keep my gear off wet ground or away from critters, the perfect travel water bottle, and a folding duffle to lug everything around in. The total retail value for the four items is $51.44.

How odd. I got that EXACT bag from them in a box from them a couple of years ago when they just started!

It’s super handy. I use it all the time and it’s held up exceedingly well! I’m the sort that always buys things when I travel, especially abroad. (Best time to shop for unique Xmas gifts IMHO.). So I always bring that bag with me, folded up in my suitcase. It always gets me out of a bind. You can really stuff it. Also, it’s the perfect size if you just want to pop over a friend’s for a night.

Sadly some of those adventures are currently on hold, but I’m hoping for a sunny weekend where I can go on a solo hike maybe to one of the state parks within an hour of Pittsburgh. I have a hammock that I got from Andy back when he reviewed camping boxes that will be a nice way to have a moment in nature instead of a crowded area.
