Dia & Co

Dia & Co is a monthly plus-size clothing subscription box that is personally curated for you by a Dia stylist. Upon enrolling with Dia & Co, I filled out an extensive survey asking me about my clothing size/weight/height, price range, and also my style likes and dislikes. Every month my stylist selects five pieces that could be clothes or accessories to try out. If I like them, I have the option of buying them. There is a $20 per month service fee, but the fee can be applied to any purchases I opt to make. A 25% discount is applied if I chose to keep all five pieces too!

The items in my box are chosen personally for me dependent and reflective of my style and price preference, so the package you receive from Dia & Co may be entirely different than mine!

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Dia & Co Winter Separates Review

That Dia & Co envelope I look forward to seeing every month got an update! Now it comes as a sleeve so you can pull out the message and attached invoice. Wild! Looks rather chic, though, I must say!

Enclosed is a kind message from this month's stylist, Kristin. Usually, I take advantage of picking three items for my month's box, but I left it up to my stylist this go around! Kristin noted that she went by my pinned items for this month's selections. I am eager to try everything on that Kristin sent my way! She also gives plenty of styling suggestions, which I do greatly appreciate!

The other form is an invoice that has a detailed list of the brand, name, color, size, and price of each item she selected for me along with the grand total after the styling fee and 25% off (if I opt to keep all five items) is applied. My some of my prices are listed and some aren’t, so this form is a bit inaccurate. The total would be $340. After the $20 styling fee and 25% is applied my balance for the entire box would be $240! The savings would be $80 if I did decide to keep everything! That isn’t too shabby! That would be like getting the Tanya Side Zip Sweater for free, and then some! What a deal!

Edina Short Sleeve Dress by City Chic, Size L/20 — Retail Value $109

City Chic is a brand I am very familiar with and have reviewed for various subscription boxes at MSA. Their styles and cuts are wonderful-- it is rare I find a piece by them that fits poorly. This dress certainly is no exception. I love how defined the waist is on this piece as well-- so flattering. This dress really enhances my figure and makes it look more hourglass-like. Remember how I said I frequently review City Chic items? Back for my Gwynnie Bee September review, I received a blouse in the same print as this dress by City Chic! Wild, right? I must say though, I preferred the dress to the top I originally reviewed. I opted to style this piece with a faux fur coat and two different pairs of boots from my December ShoeDazzle review. This dress would be wonderful for the office or a date with tights, mustard booties, and a cardigan-- it is just that adorable!

Callista Short Sleeve Pleated Top by Ryan Wythe, Size 2x — Retail Value $55

One can never go wrong with a black top. This one Kristen selected for me is a fancier alternative to the classic black T-shirt. The ruffled yoke is made of a sheer fabric and the bottom half of the top is made of a slinkier, stretchier fabric. The beauty of a piece like this is you can wear it with jeans and flats like I did to amp an otherwise casual look, or you can style it with your favorite faux leather mini-skirt and a leopard print faux fur coat for an extremely flashy, stylized look! This top will become an anchor item in your work and going out gear alike due to its adaptability!

Riverside Straight Leg Jean- Tall by Molly&Isadora, Size 22 — Retail Value $85

I am trying to be more open to different style jeans and pants, occasionally opting for wider legs. My go-to pair of pants typically is an incredibly high-waist and an extremely skinny leg. I love how they look on my body. I really wanted to love these Molly&Isadora jeans since I have other pairs by the brand that I adore. It may just be me, but I felt this cut did nothing for me and made me appear shorter than I actually am. I do love the deep, dark indigo rinse. The nice thing too is these can be worn well with boots due to them being the taller length. I will try to open my closed and heart to these jeans and will try wearing them again, but maybe I am too picky for my own good? However, just because I am annoyingly particular, doesn't mean these jeans are bad-- no! They are well made and look amazing on most babes. Just might not be my cup of tea. Give me jeans that look like they are painted on me any day of the week!

Acantha Kimono by Marybelle, Size 2x — Retail Value $49

I have seen this kimono on the Dia & Co site for some time; I have gone back and forth on choosing it for one of my three items in my monthly box quite a few times. I appreciate Kristin sending it my way! This kimono has a burnt velvet leopard print pattern on it that I absolutely love! I also appreciate how it looks almost gold and olive green at the same time. The fabric has loads of stretch and is rather light. I can see myself wearing this a lot in warmer months, especially on cooler summer nights. Imagine this with a black mini dress or gold metallic booties. I also envision wearing it with my bikini hanging poolside with my friends. This would look good on those strange warm winter days (we actually had a seventy-degree day two weekends ago that I am aching for as I type... seventy in January, mind you! It is back in the teens... ugh!). Picture this kimono paired with skinny leg jeans, a vintage band T-shirt, oversized round sunglasses, and western style booties. What a killer look!

Tanya Side Zip Sweater in Olive Green by Molly&Isadora, Size 2x — $42

Where I live, sweaters are a must this time of year. The older I get, the lower my tolerance for cold weather becomes. I have been adding so many sweaters to my wardrobe in the last two years. I am thoroughly glad to have this sweater join the collection. The sweater is a lighter knit. The olive/army green shade is pretty and rather understated. I am not sure of the point of the side zipper, unless you want a more billowy or drape-like style for your sweaters; it just is a detail I could take or leave. I love this sweater paired with a dark rinse jean, but I can also imagine it looking great with a mini skirt, patterned tights, booties, and a beret as well!

Verdict: Dia & Co remains one of my favorite clothing boxes to review. That being said, this month had some hits and some misses. Last month in my feedback, I requested some glitzy holiday pieces. I am not sure if I got that this go-around, but I got some adorable selections regardless! The City Chic dress is dreamy and will serve me well all year round, as will the Marybelle kimono! I am excited to add another sweater to my collection since I am perpetually freezing this time of year, especially in my office. The jeans and Ryan Wythe top were probably were the pieces I was most indifferent about. For my next delivery, I decided to take advantage of the pick three option for my style box. I love shopping, so that feature is a development I greatly appreciate. I am eager to see what Kristin selects for me next month!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Dia & Co curates its boxes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you! Also, take advantage of their option for you to pin pieces and select up to three items for your monthly box as well!

Value Breakdown: This box has a $20 styling fee and includes free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $340. The cost of each item is listed alongside it above, but if I choose to keep at least 5 items, I get a 25% discount. The $20.00 styling fee for the box would also be applied to the purchase, meaning I’d end up spending $240 for the whole box. Ultimately, that is a 29% discount.

AH

I actually feel like that cut off jeans make your legs look like they go on until the end of time.

Melissa

I actually really thought those Jean’s were super flattering on you! They made your butt look great! I also find it hard to find a pair of jeans that I can tuck a shirt into that still looks flattering with jeans, but I think think with those jeans the look totally worked!

Awe thank you, Melissa. They are such cute jeans, just not my style I guess. Maybe that will change though. I mean I have like six or so jumpsuits and I NEVER thought I would own let alone a bunch! Hahaha

Squirrelly Girl, thank you so much! Those are mules I got at Old Navy back in fall 2018. They are so cute!

Totally overpriced i think? is it more because of plus size?

Nicole Rieder

Cheryl, sorry you feel it is over priced. It is dependent on the brands tbh. The dress is by City Chic which is sold at Nordstrom. They offer both straight and plus sizes; that price is pretty standard for the brand. If you check out the Dia & Co site you will see that the prices range too. Hope that helps!
