SnackNation Review - December 2019

Snack Nation December 2019 card

First, there is a card explaining how you can save on your next box by filling out a survey.

Royal Hawaiian Sea Salt Macadamias, 1 oz - Buy a 4 oz bag for $7.99

I don't snack on nuts very often - I have actually never had macadamia nuts before (unless they're baked into cookies). I don't really have a lot to say about these, but I thought they were good.

Lebby Dark Chocolate Dry Roasted Chickpeas, 3.5 oz - Buy six 3.5 oz bags for $29.99

Oh my gosh, you guys. These are my new favorite. They are so good! One serving is almost 30 pieces, with 160 calories, 4g protein, and 2g fiber. The chocolate is great and the texture of the roasted chickpeas is tender and nutty. These definitely feel more indulgent than they are and I have already ordered more.

YumEarth Organics Gummy Fruits, 0.07 oz - Buy ten 0.7 oz packs for $6.99

Gummy snacks are always a win around here! These are organic and sweet, and this specific pack is shaped as snowflakes and snowmen, which my toddler loved. They're good! We all loved them.

Awake Caffeinated Chocolate, 1.06 oz - Buy twelve 1.3 oz bars for $19.99

Hooray for chocolate! This dark chocolate is extra-caffeinated and a full bar gives you the same caffeine kick as a cup of coffee. As far as taste goes, it tastes like normal dark chocolate. It's good, and I really like the little owl stamped on each piece.

Mighty Sesame Co TahiniBar Super Seed Sesame Bar, Vanilla, 0.63 oz - Buy 12 bars for $10.99

I am not generally a huge tahini fan but this bar is pretty good! The texture is soft and crumbly and it was just sweet enough. Each bar is 100 calories, has nothing artificial, is vegan, gluten-free, and kosher.

Bohana Wild White Cheddar Popped Water Lily Seeds, 2 oz - Buy six 2 oz bags for $24.99

I'm sure I'm not alone when I say I've never heard of popped water lily seeds. Apparently they've been a snack in India for thousands of years. These are really good! They're like a Cheeto-esque texture with a mild flavor and dusted with white cheddar. My kids liked these, too.

Verdict: This month's SnackNation was my first, and it was a hit for me. I liked everything! I really love the chickpea snacks, and chocolate and gummy snacks are always a win, too. Yum!

One of the perks of being a SnackNation subscriber & completing a survey every month is that you’re supposed to get a discount on snacks in their shop, but the shop has been empty for several months. Would it be possible for MSA to reach out to SnackNation to see if they plan on stocking the shop soon (or if perhaps if this perk is being discontinued)?

I really liked the Lebby chocolate covered chickpeas they were tasty and fun to eat… the lily puffs were not a favorite, the after taste was odd and the powdered cheese was a bit salty.. I liked my awake bar ut has been a favorite of mines since i started this subscription…

I got the water lily seeds in Love with Food (same flavor) and I thought they had a weird undertaste that I couldn’t quite place. I actually ate a fair number of them trying to decide if I liked them or not but, in the end, decided that I didn’t. To be fair, I have never been fond of most “umami” flavors (I just don’t eat meat, fish, gravy, mushrooms, etc.) and that may have been what was going on with these.
