  1. It says this promotion has ended even though it is still 1/31. Anyone else having this issue or have an idea how to get them to honor the promo code?

    • It also said promo has ended for me. Does anyone have a similar code I can use?

    • Same Here! I was bummed out.

  2. Darn, I thought it would run until today. The code doesn’t work anymore. 🙁

  3. I don’t have a need for work, event, or “going out” clothes. So I’m not sure if this offer is even worth it. I’m only eager to try it out because I like the idea of renting clothes and trying newer, bolder, and trendier fashions.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? How was RTR Unlimited for you?

I’m in California. How many boxes were you able to get per month? I think the average number of boxes with these rental programs are 3 per month, but I’ve seen people say they’ve had 4/month, at least in the past.

    • Hi Merecas – If you don’t have anything to wear all of these clothes for, the full price is probably not worth it every month. For just trying trends, there are cheaper rental subscriptions for more casual clothes that may actually make more sense for you. RTR has both casual and formal/work wear, but it seems like you’d really only use half of their selection and a lot of their casual clothes are just not special enough (do you need to rent a chunky white turtleneck? It’s cute, but probably not worth renting at that price), plus most of the time, not everything you want is available for your ship date. But if trying out 12-20 new items is appealing to you (even if you may not have some place to show off every item), then maybe it’s worth it.

Generally speaking, I think if you’re trying to go for value with RTR and trying out lots of clothes, the ideal would be if you had easy access to a return drop off since that immediately opens up spots rather than waiting for UPS to do your returns. They have return bins at RTR stores, some WeWork locations, even some West Elm and Nordstroms (check their website to see if there is a return bin near you – there are a ton in California).

What I do is, after I rent the first 4 items, I wear 2 and then return those to a return bin. Then 2 new spots have immediately opened, so now I can order 2 more items and wear my other 2 while I wait for the new items. I do this continuously so my shipments are actually 2 items each rather than 4. So, by the end of my first month, I believe I will have tried about 18 items. You’d get even more if you had a RTR store nearby and did your returns and selected new items on the spot there (selections in store aren’t great but you can return 3 items and then do a mix of rent 1 item in store and order 2 others same day, or some other combo depending on what you find).

If you had to wait for the UPS shipping for your returns, I think you’d probably only get about 3 boxes depending on when you do returns – do the math and see if it makes sense for you (renting 12 items at full monthly price would be $14.08/item, if you can do what I described above and get around 18 items, would be $9.39/item). I live in Chicago and this is what my deliveries have looked like (would receive faster if you did daytime returns):
Order Monday night –> receive Thursday
Order Wednesday night or Thursday night –> receive Saturday
Order Friday night/during the weekend –> receive Wednesday

  4. Hi there. I entered the code in and while checking out, it said “you’re receiving $100 your first month.” Is there any way to tell that you’re getting $100 off the next month too before signing up? Thanks!

  5. I’ve looked through RTR Unlimited items, and they just seem a little “off” to me. The bloggers and journalists who have shown pics of themselves wearing their items – the clothing seems a little “off,” too. They seem to have a lot of sale luxury items that couldn’t sell.

I definitely have a need to rent more interesting clothing because I’m so bored of mine, and it’s such a hassle to shop online and go through all the trouble of returning because most clothes/shoes don’t fit or look right.

This is the best deal I’ve seen, so I’ll probably give RTR Unlimited a try now.

  6. I love this service. Cannot say enough good things about it. First off, the overnight shipping is AMAZING. Next, the options are endless. I haven’t worn the same thing to work in months. Third, you do not have to send all the items back at once, you can send them back individually as you are done with them.

  7. I would love to see a recent review of this service

    • Agreed I would love to see a MSA review. I wish I can create a new account to take advantage of this deal. I personally love the service.

I’ve noticed I stopped buying new clothes and have gotten rid of a lot from my closet except basics or some staple pieces. It has saved be space in my closet/house, I live in a city so closet space is very sparse. I love that I’m able to try new styles and if I really like a piece I can purchase it (or re-rent it).

It’s great for vacations and weddings, where I always used to find myself buying new items and only wearing it once or twice.

      • Hi Okarinaoftime – I tried unlimited RTR for a month last summer and then stopped. I was able to resubscribe again with this code (same account, same credit card, same email) and get the discount. It even has my saved history of the items I previously rented.

    • Hey there, Kate! There is one in the works that I’ll be posting before this coupon expires, so keep an eye out!
While you wait, Megan and I did use RTR for some holiday looks and you can check them out here (although it isn’t a classic review-style post): https://www.mysubscriptionaddiction.com/holiday-party-oufits-dec-2019

      • Oh my goodness. Marne you look drop dead beautiful in that Shoshana dress.
