Pet Treater Cat Pack January 2020 Review

I used to find the dog version of Pet Treater a little bit random but the cat version (maybe because it is smaller) is often a little more focused:

There’s not a traditional information card with this subscription, but you get a couple of inserts including a humorous sticker. Sometimes there is also product literature although this month there wasn’t.

Kerchief

Most months you will get a kerchief. Sometimes it is just a piece of fabric cut from a bolt of cloth but sometimes it has finished edges, like this one, which is printed on only one side with a custom design. This is quite large; you can see Monkey modeling it below. There is not a theme with this box, but this does kind of connect with the design of the sticker.

Loving Pets It's Purely Natural Beef Lung (0.6 oz) - Retail Value $3.86

These are freeze-dried single-ingredient treats. They come in kind of big pieces and I would suggest breaking up the pieces quite a bit before giving them to your cat. Madison had a big piece and it took him like five minutes to actually finish it, and Sneaky scarfed a few and then later threw up her dinner.

Our Pets Wild Flingdom Real Mouse - Retail Value $9.79

This has a little tab you can pull out to activate a battery connection inside the toy, after which it will make a noise when this is jostled very much. My cats have never been much into noise-making toys but they were fascinated with the tail of this thing, which is an elastic, stretchy thing. I could only find this from third-party sellers on Amazon so take the price with a grain of salt.

Smartykat Compressed Catnip Toy, Star Strung - Retail Value $4.49

This was the most loved item in the box. Monkey has been repeatedly going up to it and holding onto it with the claws from both front feet and licking it and loudly purring. I tried to make a video but the sound part didn't work well and listening was half of the joy of watching him with it. The other cats found it interesting as well, but none so much as Monkey. (And Monkey was definitely going after the catnip part, not the feathers.)

Here are some kitty photos for you.

Verdict: I was unable to calculate a total value for the January Pet Treater Cat Pack since I had trouble finding one of the items online. There were four items so each has an average value of about $3.75. The compressed catnip toy was a clear winner and I learned a valuable lesson about letting Sneaky have whole, giant treats (the lesson being that she can't handle them and they come right back up again, so small pieces are a must). The kerchief will last a little longer than those from other months, too, since it has finished edges.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, your first pack will ship immediately filled with the most popular fan favorites. Also, there may be some variation among boxes sent during the same month.

Value Breakdown: At $15 per month for this subscription, you are paying approximately $3.75 per item.
