Hello,
How do you skip the Pearlesque box? I am still waiting for the January box but not sure if I want the February box?

Can you skincare gurus help me choose a good skincare box? I have been looking at Laurel and Reed, Beauty Heroes, Boxwalla, and Pearlesque. Open to other suggestions, too. Any other suggestions are welcome, or pros/cons for any of the above mentioned boxes. I should probably say that I am 25 with pretty decent skin and looking to extend its longevity. Thanks so much for weighing in!

One of the things that I appreciate about Pearlesque is that each month you get products from the same brand, so you can see if you like that brand and how the products work together. While I also get BeautyFix, NewBeauty Test Tube, and a myriad of other boxes that include some skincare items, the ones I am familiar with don’t focus on one brand at a time. (However, I am not familiar with several of the boxes that others have listed below. Maybe they do the same thing.)

One other thing that I will say about Pearlesque is that the woman who runs it is very personable and will talk to you personally. It is not like contacting customer service at some of these other companies and getting whichever random person they assign to your “ticket.” Pearlesque also offers the option to skip a month.

I love Pearlesque for all of those reasons!

I’m going to chime in with Laurel and Reed. I feel they send products that are useful, minus the sleep mask they’re offering this month. You can buy a one-time box at the same price as a subscription if you like what you see. They do great spoilers on Instagram. Also, if you are thinking about trying some Korean beauty, I would look into Facetory lux plus. They ship every three months so you can avoid product overload and skip months that you’re not in love with. Beauty Fix is also a good one but their product sizes tend to be small. Welcome to the skin care club. Fair warning the addiction is real 😂

Plus I keep getting 15% off on Laurel & Reed…. just liking the quality over quantity. Lux Plus box from FaceTory is great so no product overload. The Winter box was fantastic. I do 7 Lux as well. NTBB is fine, too. The great thing about Laurel & Reed is that you can buy past boxes if available (and the current box will sometimes show as a past box, for those not in the know). 🙂

A lot of it depends on what you are looking for, the ones you listed are all natural skincare focused. Ones people mentioned are not. I’ve found Beauty Heroes and Petit Vour are my faves – I am looking for natural skincare. PV has some makeup too.
Both PV and BH have great discounts for members that I’ve taken advantage of too. BH you get another 15% off everything and PV you get points for purchases and reviews that redeem for $ off.

You can look through to see what they provide, I’ve received only face products from BH. This month it’s 3 face products.

I think all the ones you mentioned have spoilers already. Pick the one calling to you and dive in! Have fun!

I am still exploring the different skin sub boxes available. So far Boxwalla and Test Tube Beauty are my favorite. I do also like Laurel & Reed, and you can buy them as one time purchases for the same price as subbing, which is nice. Clean Beauty Box and Pearlesque are both great too. Beauty Heroes can be good, I did the 3 month sub with them this month cause I really like January’s box. I’m not impressed with Beautyfix though. Overall, I’m mostly sticking with Boxwalla and Test Tube as regulars, but watching for spoilers with the other ones to get the ones I really really want on a case by case basis. Skip or cancel when I don’t want the spoilers or can’t see spoilers ahead of time.

the Clean Beauty box is great too.

I do New Beauty Test Tube, BeautyFix, Laurel & Reed, maybe Pearlesque maybe in March…. want to do Boxwalla, but not for this coming month, etc. I don’t sub to makeup subs anymore. Thinking of the Organic Bunny. 🙂 Hope this helps.

I also do FaceTory, like the 7 Lux and Lux Plus. Forgot to add that.

I really love Laurel & Reed, Beauty Heroes, and The Detox Box (although it’s not always skincare). Boxwalla is also great and is only bi-monthly so you’re less likely to get product fatigue. It’s tough to choose! Do you have a budget?

Lauren

The budget question is a good one. I would say $50-$70. I currently spend more than that with Ipsy, BoxyCharm, and my beloved Ellie/Splendies subs, but I am eying cutting either Ipsy or BC, because I am in the market for more skin care than eye shadows.

Connie

New Beauty Test Tube is interesting too. Kinder has some good boxes too.

All of those above are great – I’m seriously considering the Boxwalla box for Feb because of Votary skincare. I’m trying to be super picky and looking at the spoilers each month rather than sticking with a specific sub. Also look at Detox Box!

After trying many many boxes, I end up with two – Boxwalla and TestTube.
Boxwalla gives you very unique luxury skin care, that I would never dream to try.
TestTube is an adventure box for me. They provide product from head to toe and with every tube I discover so many fun products. I dont have sensitive skin or any allergies, that’s why I am very open for product adventure.
I did not like beauty heroes. I think they include so many product for body, or some kind of way overpriced mist and tones. I did not want spend money on that.
My dream box is Mindt. I can afford it financially but not mentally.

That’s too funny about Mintd Svetlana. I was subbed to them regularly for quite a while, but now I think I feel the same as you. When I think about spending that much monthly on a box, I can’t help but restrain myself. 🙂 Like other boxes I love, I play that one by spoiler, and wouldn’t you know that the only two boxes that appealed enough to me to re-sub since I cancelled last Spring were the November & December boxes which came out when I was on a sub box no-buy. Figures! 😀

Lauren

I trust your input 🙂 I see your name all the time. I haven’t heard of Mindt. Maybe I’ll look at it.

Prediction: one of the two items will be a face or body oil. It always is an oil. I’m guessing that it’s the sort of product that costs very little to manufacture (oil plus a fragrance source), so it’s less of a financial loss for companies to give to Pearlesque than, say, an anti-aging eye creme.

I just hope it’s not that lip oil. That little overpriced product has been in so many sub boxes and I don’t feel like it does anything.
