Thank! I’m gonna try this 🙂

No more eyeshadow or highlighter. I wish there was a subscription that offered 4-5 full size skincare items at a nice price point 25-35 dollars. It would be nice if Boxy offered a separate skincare box.
I know many love makeup, I just have so much and no one to offer it to. My daughter does video’s on YouTube reviewing boxes, she sends me makeup, but keeps the skincare. I have 6 totes full and a shoebox of skincare.

I completely agree! I love skincare items.

Have you looked into test tube? I love that one for skincare

Thank! I’m gonna try this 🙂

Anyone else still waiting on their January Glam Bag? Ipsy is so hit-or-miss on their shipping/deliveries. I’m about to give up on them 🙁

Juliet

im also waiting for mines and they’re sending it through fedex. They never was really late on my boxes..this is only the second time it has happened. and first time through fedex it was usually DHL and then through usps when in my city..i also have received them super early like on the 10th a few times..

I’m wondering if the ice storms we’ve had throughout the Midwest has something to do with delayed deliveries.

Dawna

I hear you on this one but, for me, it’s somewhat of an off and on issue. When my Glambag or any order from Ipsy seems to be taking a long time arriving, I check two things, the weather and which company is handling my package. If the weather has been crap in certain areas of the country, like all the ice some of us have gotten… I will have a little more patience. If it’s DHL…. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 I have written into Ipsy regarding DHL. I sent screenshots of everything when FEDEX handled my Glambag and screenshots of when DHL handles my Glambag. Then I asked,”Can you see the difference???”
October and November, my Glambag sat and sat and sat at a DHL facility for a week! Just sat there!
I was pretty specific and polite with Ipsy that they’ve already screwed up…,they’re loosing subscribers, we’ve all been complaining about DHL for years! Although I appreciate free shipping, Ipsy is making bank and can definitely afford to do better with shipping. If DHL isn’t cutting it, fire them!
I did go on to say that Ipsy was my 1st sub and that I had cut back on subs and that I’m down to Ipsy. But, I can and will cancel if Ipsy can’t take some of the $$$$$$$ they’re making and put it towards things that make subscribers happy, like reliable shipping and maybe following profiles better.
My December and January Glambags were handled by FEDEX and delivered by USPS. Only one delay due to weather.

Really? Eye shadows and highlighters? These are terrible spoilers, I really hope there are a few better choices. This seems like bottom of the barrel. I’m still holding out for the add-ons but may have to cancel if this is the new norm. Seems like since they’ve added the ultimate, they’ve stopped caring about the regular bag? Idk, this is pretty bad, not what people sign up for. And can I please stop getting highlighters?? I don’t even use them and I have a drawer full!

I’m taking the positive road…for $10 (I’m annual), I’m always happy with my Ipsy Glam Bag! Anything I don’t use I either gift or donate. The bag itself is worth the money to me. I use them for all kinds of things for myself, and to present donations. It’s all good! Taking the glass half full approach for 2020!

I don’t have a lot of experience with makeup, and I get other boxes each month more tailored to skin care (or do IPSY add ons), so I like IPSY to try out makeup I wouldn’t ordinarily purchase for myself to experiment with. For me, IPSY is more about the fun of exploring. I went a few months without it, and missed the whole process…the spoilers, choice, reveal, add-ons, trying the products, reading on MSA about others’ experiences. For me, IPSY is more of an event and an experience than just getting some samples to use. It brings back tween and teen memories and feelings of going shopping with my friends, and I don’t have the time to do that anymore.

I agree. I’ve been thinking about subscribing to something different but feel like I’ll really miss the spoilers and choice day and the suspense of finding out which items made it into my final bag. And even though I’m only currently using one of the makeup bags, I do think they add a nice bonus value to the subscription each month.

To Alice, Christy, Tina, & Penguin: lovely positive outlooks regarding products you maybe (or even certainly!) aren’t excited about, are overloaded with, or can already tell won’t work out for you one way or another. I especially like the thoughtfulness & usefulness of the “never know when you’ll need it, but you WILL need it!” stash-bags that Christy made up for her daughters and their friends. All they need now are Swiss Army Knives and compasses, lol!
Donating products was also mentioned and I just wanted to add my two cents on that in particular. (Lemme stick an informal disclaimer in right quick – I am in NO WAY affiliated with any organization, person, company spoken of here, except in that I am a lifelong resident of Washington state, and I am a viewer of content put out by Taylor Wynn.)
In Washington state there is an organization called Project Beauty Share that provides personal care and hygiene products, cosmetics, etc., to non-profit organizations serving women *and families* overcoming abuse, addiction, poverty, and homelessness to “help restore hope and dignity in their lives.” The beauty You-Tuber Taylor Wynn (formerly Thataylaa) has partnered with Project Beauty Share since 2016, and together they’ve created an annual campaign called Beauty Wishes, which brings Project Beauty Share’s mission to the nation. In 2019 Taylor paired this campaign with her “15 Days of Foundation” (Season 6, maybe more) and she & her followers raised more than $40k in donations! I know there have got to be great organizations of similar veins in the necks-of-everyone’s-woods that would LOVE each and every item that you & I won’t or can’t use. Food banks/food pantries offer hygiene items when they can, and, as a single person who has needed assistance before (and has/does/will donate(d), I can only imagine how relieving it is knowing your children, spouse, pet won’t have to go without.
I really just want to share the info, and I sincerely agree with all the generous sentiments you all expressed.

Penguin

Agreed on the positivity! For $12 a month, I get to try products I would never have ventured to buy. I get enough product for the month and actually have seen some incredible skincare changes. Loving the IBY eyeshadow. I have one from IPSY, and it is my favorite for many reasons. Great pigment, just enough rose to warm my look. Stays all day. Why complain? Cancel if unhappy.

Christy

I agree, I always love the bags! I use the bags while traveling, the pink one w/ red lips was one of my favorites. I keep lip glosses in that one, there was one a while back that was black w/ eyes on it I keep mascaras and eye products in those, and so on. At home I use them all over to help with organization, charging cables, hair ties, pens w/ note pads, etc. I made up bags for my daughters and thier friends at the start of school with hand sanitizer, lotion, Kleenex, lip balms, mints, panty liners, hair ties, safty pens, sm. sewing kit, etc. items always needed on hand.
This month the bag that came with the GBPlus is perfect for me. I needed a wristlet purse, almost bought myself one last month, but saw this bag in the spoilers and its just what I needed.
What I do with items that won’t work for me, ie: duplicates, wrong scent, color, etc. I have empty Boxycharm boxes with a friends/family members name on each one; throughout the entire year when I have items that won’t work for me I pop it into the box that would be perfect for that person. When its their birthday or at the holidays I use the items to make a super cute gift basket. I have a daughter that doesn’t wear makeup so I made her a rad gift basket with all hair items! This past year from Boxy alone I rec’d mini blow dryer, straightener, curling wand, a ton of great high-end hair oils, hair masks, styling products, etc it made for an impressive gift.
wow I just wrote a mini novel :). Take care, Christy from CA

Alice

Yes Christy!! Loved reading it! Be safe!

Tina Curnutt

I also do all the things you mentioned.but most people I know aren’t into highlighters or bronzerss.ipsy just needs to offer other things..like perfume & hair care to mix it up a bit.so members aren’t so bored with the same ole things every month!
P.s your a great person to do those little gift bags..i also donate them to women’s shelters! That’s where I get rid of the bronzerss & highlighters..and have also heard that many of those women aren’t into those products either. 😆

Kathie Stevens

Really sick of these single shadows all in the same shade range every time. Sure would be nice if they changed it up once in awhile and actually had some nice shadows with soft, wearable colors, like blue, purple, mauve, etc. Soooo tired of copper, bronze and brown…ugh. No more highlighters either. I have enough to last me until I’m 112 !!!!!

Mary

I also 100% agree!

Lori

100% agree.

Reply ButtonReply

Courtney

Not happy with these spoilers yet. Hope they get alot better.

Reply ButtonReply

Carol

Those shades are nice enough, but I always forget to use single shadows and I prefer liquid or cream highlighters.

I have canceled Ipsy last week. The bag is so cute, but I’m only subbed BoxyCharm Premium and maybe Trendmood box.

SunnyT

Has anyone noticed that add ons are up today? I think Ipsy is hopping this will prevent customers from skipping February.

Reply ButtonReply

Tina Curnutt

They are leftovers from january’ s products!

Reply ButtonReply

Randie

I don’t see any add ons today. Where are you looking?

Reply ButtonReply

SunnyT

You can also click on the shopper icon and it is at the top of the page.

Emma

Wait, did I miss the February choice pick? I know the add-ons would be Feb 2nd but when does Ipsy usually have it’s pick one day? I can’t keep up with the new choices and add-ons for Boxy & Ipsy, hahaha

Reply ButtonReply

dia

Choice day is the 22nd.

Reply ButtonReply

EMMA

Thank you so much Dia!

JulieB

What a cute bag! I just cancelled my subscription yesterday because I just have too many samples to try right now. I’m almost wishing I waited just so I could get the bag. Maybe my daughter will give me hers . . .

Reply ButtonReply

tammy g.

is there anybody else out there that is tired of highlighters and eyeshadows?..can’t we get more makeup or skincare…

Reply ButtonReply

Tina Curnutt

Yes..ipsy needs to mix it up some.and offer more of a variety.Instead of the same ole.I want more perfume & haircare!

Reply ButtonReply

Lisa P

I agree, tired of shimmery eye shadows in the same orange tinted colors. I prefer matte and it would be nice to see a different range of colors. I also don’t like highlighters and one lasts forever. I agree that I would rather have items we do not receive a lot. I like concealers, foundation, eyeliner (blue would be a nice change), lip liners, eye cream, setting powders and sprays.
The bag looks nice but hopefully the rest of the spoilers will be better.

Reply ButtonReply

Lisa

Me! I am on overload. I don’t use a lot of makeup and I got the Huda Amethyst plus all the single beige and gold ones that I have kept. That is more than I’ll ever use! I also don’t like highlighters. I kept the MakeUp Geek one I got a few months ago because it is lovely as eye shadow or on top of eye shadow, but I just don’t use them. I will decide on choice day whether or not to skip this month. I cancelled GBP after my amazing January bag.

Reply ButtonReply

Irina

I’m with you… don’t need that much of shadows and highlighters

Reply ButtonReply

Roxann

<me…I can only handle so many. Some people heard palettes tho. Like just for collection. Not me. I cant stand clutter. I have 3 palettes from boxycharm (had 5 but gave 2 away) and 3 single eyeshadows from ipsy. That's enough for me. I also have a blush from boxy and a highlighter. Enough to last me 6 months minimum.

Reply ButtonReply

Kristen

I seriously have about twenty highlighters and they’re all from beauty boxes.

And I need another eyeshadow single as much as I need another highlighter.

So far this bag doesn’t look good! Hopefully there is something in choice that makes me stick around.

Reply ButtonReply

Dawn

Looks like I will get another eyeshadow to give away. I wish Ipsy would have an option for ALL SKINCARE, all make up or some of both. I do not need anymore eyeshadow, which I don’t wear. I made highlighter and bronzer my NO items. If I could put a stop to shadow and brushes, I would be better off. I received that dark blue nail polish in January and it is a beautiful shade. I put it on one pinky to test out the wearability for the week. So far it is holding up nicely.

Reply ButtonReply

Randie

I’ve also thought it would be great to offer options like that because I really like element of surprise Ipsy offers but I would love to be able to choose to have a bag that’s just skincare.

Lisa

Last year I was driving slow because rds were horrible and one of my coworkers was on my tail. When we got to work she approached me and said I need to Put My Pedal To The Metal. If I get that Balm eyeshadow I might just leave it in her work mailbox .

Reply ButtonReply

Dot

Nothing great so far since BC been killing it . For me Ipsy needs to step up . Sad because IPSY used to be one of my favs :/

Reply ButtonReply

Mary

My BC box this month was horrible. They have a problem with very unequal variations, and I was one of the unlucky ones. My GBP this month also was disappointing, but the $80 Juice Beauty serum (which I love) and the Nature’s Cartel lipstick were more than worth the price of the bag. I can’t say that for this month’s Boxy.

Reply ButtonReply

disneyjoy1970

Not to be a Negative Nelly- BUT, these spoilers are a bit lack-luster. Nothing grabs my eye. The bags are really cute. I’m still hopeful… I’d love a pink lip product or pink blush.

Reply ButtonReply

Charlotte

I’d like to try that The Balm eye shadow. Hopefully it’s available as an add-on, because I’m pausing my regular bag this month (but still getting my GBP).

Reply ButtonReply

moposh

Finally a bag I like. Hope products are good. Was not impressed with January and was giving them one more month.

Reply ButtonReply

Marion

Oooh! I’ve been wanting to try that Petal to the Metal formula! I wonder if they’ll send out another shade, too, for the other palette.

Reply ButtonReply

SunnyT

Unless something better is spoiled, I will be skipping.
Not even a “free” product in my February bag will be enough to tempt me.
