Fit Snack Box is a subscription box containing snacks that each has at least two of the following characteristics: GMO-free, high protein, low sugar, gluten-free, organic, raw, vegan, and/or all-natural. (That is, any given item might be low in sugar and vegan, or organic and gluten-free but not vegan, etc.)

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

About Fit Snack Box

The Products: $32+ worth of full and sample size snacks, protein powders, pantry items, and other healthy consumables selected by a nutritionist.

Good to Know: This box usually contains some ready-to-eat snacks and sometimes a few pantry items. Fit Snack Box December 2019 Review

One side of the information card typically has a little more information about the snacks in the box and the other side has a workout for you to try.

Sometimes there are also coupons and/or product literature, but not always.

Nakd Cocoa Orange (35 g) - Buy 18 bars for $19.99

These are from the UK originally but I have now found a source in the US. These are pretty tasty. Cocoa and orange work well together. This is just a date and nut bar, but the cocoa and orange work together to make it a little more exciting than most. This had just the right amount of moisture but was not sticky.

Gorilly Goods Trail (1.3 oz) - Buy 12 packs for $30.99

Gorilly Goods items show up fairly often in Fit Snack Box, but they do a good job of rotating through the different flavors so it doesn't get repetitive. This is a nice item because all the ingredients are identifiable by sight. It is crunchy from the nuts and cocoa nibs and it also has goji berries. This really would be a good source of protein, fat, and quick carbs for an outdoor activity but it's also pretty well-balanced for a snack.

Supernola Signature Spiced Goji (1 oz) - Buy 12 packs for $35.88

Supernola and Gorilly Goods seem to be related brands, like both with the same parent company, and this item has similar types of ingredients but a totally different texture. These are soft(ish) clusters with lots of nuts and seeds, some spices, and just a hint of fruit from the berries. I have been a fan of pretty much every flavor I have tried for this product, and this is no exception.

Purely Inspired Organic Protein French Vanilla (1 serving) - Buy 19 servings for $19.99

This is vegan and has some fruits and veggies in addition to plant-based protein, but all you really taste is the vanilla. The flavor is not too artificial and it blends well for smoothies, although it absorbs a lot of liquid so you may need to factor that into your smoothie recipe. Now if they would just start sending this in chocolate, I would be really happy.

Lebby Chickpea Snacks Dark Chocolate (3.5 oz) - Buy 6 bags for $29.99

I was first introduced to this brand in last month's Fit Snack Box and now I am seeing it everywhere. These are roasted chickpeas with a coating of dark chocolate and I really like them. You can almost fool yourself into thinking you're eating Whoppers candy (not quite). The texture works well and I'm happy to see a chickpea snack with a different flavor strategy besides salty powder on the outside (not that I don't like salty powdered ones, too, but this is nice for a change).

Lebby Chickpea Snacks Mocha (3.5 oz) - Buy 6 bags for $29.99

These smelled strongly of coffee when I opened the package so I thought surely I wouldn't like them. It turns out, they are my favorite flavor (I've now tried them all!). They don't taste so much like coffee, more like milk chocolate that's heavy on the milk. Anyway, I am a fan of these things and might consider buying more in the near future.

Teaonic My Immunity Mojo Revive (2 fl oz) - Buy 12 bottles for $36

This has been showing up in snack boxes for awhile now and I am just not a fan. It is unsweetened and so tart as to be basically undrinkable. It is elderberry juice, lemon, hibiscus, ginger, and cayenne. The thing about elderberry juice is, it doesn't actually do anything for colds. One specific brand of syrup was found to have some effects and companies piled on with that, as "wellness" brands tend to do, but the research just isn't there to back it up. This may have some antioxidants and ginger helps fight inflammation, but you can find cheaper and better-tasting ways to get ginger and antioxidants.

Wicked Cutz Beef Stick Original Peppered (1.5 oz) - Buy 4 for $8.76

This is probably a good time to remind you that, while a lot of snacks in this box are vegan or vegetarian, not all of them are, and you will receive jerky or meat sticks on occasion. These snacks are pretty popular right now due to the keto and paleo diets so it is an appropriate inclusion in the box. I just have to pass it along to someone else since I don't eat meat. This is free of MSG, nitrites, and nitrates, and is high in protein (15 g) but also very high in sodium, with 32% of your daily recommended intake in one stick.

Sanissimo Salmas Corn Crackers (8 x 0.63 oz) - Retail Value $8.99

We get these a lot in Fit Snack Box but as it turns out, my husband likes them. He melts cheese on top of them but they are also good with salsa. These have lime in them (not lime flavor, but calcium hydroxide) giving them more of an authentic tortilla-like taste than standard corn chips. They're also pretty sturdy and hold up to various dips and spreads.

Verdict: The November Fit Snack Box had 9 items for an average value of $3.21 per item (I'm counting multiples of the same item together). The corn crackers and Lebby snacks all had large sizes (like much more than one serving). I would say this is a pretty representative box for Fit Snack Box, with some brands that show up fairly often although usually different flavors, so it doesn't get repetitive. There wasn't anything super new and different this month, but most of the items are things I like, so I'm happy, overall.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Boxes ship out around the 20th of the month so it is too late to get December’s box.

Value Breakdown: At $28.90 for this box, you are paying about $3.21 per item.
