CatLadyBox January 2020 Review

CatLadyBox is always full of fun, cat-themed lifestyle items. Let’s see what was in store for January:

I love how the information cards have custom artwork every month. And the back has more information about the items in the box. This month has a New Year's theme.

All the Cats Soft T-Shirt - Listed Value $22.99

This shirt is super soft (as advertised!) and also the back is very cute. I'll wear it a lot for comfort in the winter but then in summer I will have to make sure people can see the back. (Monkey was not available to "help" me photograph this one.)

Retro Cat Clock - Listed Value $18.99

This is cool. I think it will go to work with me. My space there is kind of bare right now and I need to add some personal touches. It does have an alarm function but I probably won't use that.

Kitty Whiskers Lunch Bag - Listed Value $18.99

This didn't really want to stand up on its own. I already take my lunch to work every day but I have this habit of destroying lunch bags (I put a knife right through the side of my last one, don't ask how it happened as I'm still not sure) so it will be nice to have a backup. This is insulated inside, as you can see. It is a bit small but I can make it work.

Bonus Cat Kitchen Sponges

Everyone got a bonus item from a past box. I got these sponges. I have to admit, I never used the ones from the last box because I thought they were too cute to use (and also because I don't like to clean), but now that I have two sets, I guess I can use one set, because I still will have some left to keep. They have a different surface on the other side for scouring but it didn't photograph well on a white background.

Cash Meowny Catnip Wand Toy - Listed Value $5.99

This was well liked by several cats. I think the feather was the highlight. The string is stretchy and a couple of kitties bit that as well.

Kitty Cat Clock Catnip Toy - Listed Value $5.99

I just now realized this has cat ears. Anyway, Monkey has claimed this. It is a catnip plush with a rattle inside and Monkey can think of nothing he'd like more than to rub his face on it.

Here are some kitty pictures. Angus got a bit distracted by that bag and was kind of playing with the toy as well as the bag handle. Madison refused to come out from under the bed.

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $72.95 for the January 2020 (Crazy) CatLadyBox. The shirt is, indeed, very soft, the clock and lunch bag are practical, my kitties like the toys, and perhaps the sponges will make cleaning more enjoyable? At any rate, this was a pretty good box for us.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Officially your subscription would start with January’s box, but way back when I signed up, I was contacted to say there were a few of the current month’s box left over and asked if I’d like one of those. So it may be worth inquiring. You can also buy the December box as a one time purchase here.

Value Breakdown: At a price of $39.99 for this box, you are paying approximately the following per item:

  • Shirt $12.60
  • Clock $10.41
  • Lunch bag $10.41
  • Wand toy $3.28

I don’t have cats, but this is one of my favorite reviews to read every month. It’s so nicely curated and I love your pictures of the babies with their new toys.

I got the cat hangers that you hang up on the wall. My first set are hidden away somewhere because I have no use for them so I was quite disappointed to receive them. Boo.

or wait, the hooks? I never used those either. I might when I eventually move but I already had a house full of hooks haha

I’m excited to see what I got!

You mean the metal wall sign or something else?

Eileen

I received the cat planter as my bonus item.

I got this too. I was totally excited because I am definitely a plant lady and I’ve requested more garden-themed items on surveys! I’m a longtime subscriber so I already have the planter, but I’m very happy to have two (although I might give one to my sis, a fellow plant and cat lady).

I got a thick wire “meow” sign for my bedroom wall. Actually quite pleased!

I received a cat purse instead of the sponges. There are a LOT of cats on it and it’s quite a large bag!!

Carrie

I got this cat purse, as well. I won’t use it but it will make a fun gift for a kindred cat lady.

I think I remember that one from a past box. I guess it really is random, who gets what for the bonus item.
