Moving on to Target Beauty Box November beauty picks!

Love Beauty Planet Radical Refresher Body Wash in Coconut Water + Mimosa, 0.3 fl oz - Estimated Value $0.13 (Buy a full-size 16 fl oz for $6.99 )

I used to use this brand's shampoo and conditioner daily until I started getting so many samples that I just didn't have to anymore. I really loved their packaging and clean ingredient list so I was excited to try their body wash. This scent is a blend of coconut and flowers, which I actually really liked, even if I am not a coconut fan. It left my skin soft and feeling very clean. For the price, this is such a great wash!

Olly Undeniable Beauty Multivitamin Gummies, 2 ct - Estimated Value $0.43 (Buy 60 for $12.89)

Two gummies aren't really enough of a sample to see if these work long term, but they sure were yummy! These contain biotin, keratin, and vitamins C and E. These ingredients work together to promote stronger nails, hair, and skin.

Sunny Isle Jamaican Black Castor Oil Eyelash & Eyebrow Grow Serum, 2 oz - Retail Value $19.99

This product has a smell that I couldn't get past. Frankly, it was terrible! I have used castor oil products in the past and they have always had some sort of essential oil to make the natural scent of the oil more bearable, but this was pure, likely because it goes so close to your eyes. I wish I could report back on the effectiveness of this oil, but I couldn't bear to use it.

Garnier Fructis Sleek Shot In-Shower Styler, 0.34 oz - Estimated Value $0.33 (Buy 5.1 fl oz for $4.99)

This product isn't much use to me since I don't blow dry my hair, but I decided to try it with my air dry routine anyways. Basically, you mix it with your shampoo then use your conditioner as usual. If you blow-dry after these steps, this is supposed to cut your blow-dry time in half. It did seem to speed up my air-dry time, so I bet it works! It also gave my hair a nice shine and sleekness without making it greasy or oily. Winning!

Pantene Gold Series Hydrating Butter Crème, 2.6 oz - Estimated Value $3.06 (Buy 6.8 fl oz for $7.99)

I have thicker, coarser hair, so I like to try creams like this. I generally stick to using them on dry hair, but I did manage to remember to try this on damp hair. I rubbed some between my palms and then finger-combed the ends of my hair. It made my hair look significantly shinier when it dried and it also seemed to be just a little straighter. I also tried it on dry hair and it nixed nearly all of my frizz.

Pantene Gold Series Leave-On Detangling Milk, 3 fl oz - Estimated Value $3.15 (Buy 7.6 oz for $7.99)

I chose to try this on a different shampoo day than the cream above because both in my hair at once just feels like A LOT of product for someone who barely even brushes her hair. It actually felt really similar to the other cream that came this month but in a lighter formula. I used it after conditioning on the ends of my hair and towel drying. It made my hair much softer and shinier, and definitely reduced frizz!

Verdict: Target Beauty Box had a value of $27.09 this month, though about $20 of that was wrapped up in that castor oil product that I couldn't bring myself to use. The other items were just fine, all worked well and were from pretty good brands. This box was a little too 'hair' focused for my personal taste since I tend to mostly ignore mine unless I have to do something with it. It might have been nice to see at least one makeup item maybe?

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you order today? Yes, as of publication, this box is still available for purchase.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Does anyone know when the January 2020 box will become available. I can not wait to see the spoilers?

I’ve used regular Castor oil and now Hatian black Castor oil, it does seem to make my lashes grow in thicker after a few weeks of application on the lash line. When I stopped doing.it my lashes seemed.to return to normal. I’m too busy to try it out again but from my experience it does appear to work.

Regarding the smell of the Sunny Isle castor oil, I had bought that for use on my eyebrows. The smell, to me, is that of burnt wood, or charred seeds or tobacco. I don’t find it too objectionable, though my husband says, “campfire, but not in a healthy way.”

Carol, thanks for the laugh and for sharing your opinion. I have this box in my Target cart right now because I will buy pretty much any product for eyelash growth except the prescription one (Latisse?) that can change/darken your eye color. My baby blues are my best feature so they’re not worth messing with even if it helps my blonde (i.e. invisible), sparse, and long but totally straight eyelashes. I was excited to try something so natural but Megan really scared me. I have a SUPER strong sense of smell I consider a serious curse. I figured I would have to pass until I saw your comment. Hopefully I too can tolerate the smell. If not I might have to do some research and see if there’s a safe essential oil or other fragrance additive that might be safe enough for around my eyes.

I have a spa gift certificate I got over a year ago I might just use to try a lash lift and tint where I guess they dye and basically perm your eyelashes. I would rather find a cheaper alternative though because I won’t be able to afford go back every 6-8 weeks to keep getting that done. Plus I would rather use the gift certificate on a massage or facial. 😄

Hey Dani,
While I have dark lashes, mine were pretty straight and fell out way too easily. I’ve noticed that since I started using dr botanicals pomegranate eye serum (I think it came in a glossybox earlier this year) my lashes have been in amazing health! Now that I use it on my lashes and eyebrows, i’ve noticed improvement in both- and best of all, no noticeable scent!

Michelle

Hi Dani,

I too have baby blue eyes along with blond sparse lashes and eyebrows. I was also afraid of Latisse but after discussing it with my dermatologist and my optamoligist, I decided to try it. I have been using it for over two years with no issues at all. At week 10, my lashes were so long that I didn’t have to use mascara for length/thickness. They were the lashes I had always hoped for. I also use it on my eyebrows. After 12 weeks, I switched to using it every other day to maintain the look and conserve the product as it is pricey. If you join the Brilliant Distinctions loyalty program, every purchase counts towards points and a generous coupon which helps with the cost. If you have a dermatologist you might want to review it with them since it has been out for a long time now. It is a proven product with awesome results and worth the investment.

JuJu

Oh, that’s too bad about the castor oil.

Has anyone else on here had any success with it?..
