Scentbird November 2019 Review
This month, I received Scentbird’s “Scent of the Month.” You can either opt for the scent of the month or you can fill a queue with fragrances of your choosing:
There was what is basically an advertising flyer for this month’s scent, “Amazing Grace Magnolia” by philosophy.
There was also some product literature for a perfume line that Scentbird introduced recently (at least, that's what I think is going on).

This was introduced in 2019 and hasn't yet invaded the GWPs at beauty retailers (to my knowledge). Base notes are musk, amber, and driftwood. I'm a fan of the musk and amber and honestly not sure that I've ever used a fragrance with a driftwood note (and if I've ever smelled actual driftwood, it probably didn't smell like much). Whatever it is, it's not something that stands out too much.
Mid notes are magnolia and violet and, well, these are the heart of this fragrance. I mean, like, this is a super strong floral perfume primarily because of the mid notes. It's a bit too floral for my taste, to be honest, although it may be something I reach for on occasion.
Top notes include bergamot and nectarine but this is just not a fruity fragrance to me. There is an element of sweetness that could come from the fruits, I guess, but it is subtle (at least on me -- your body chemistry may vary).
(Also, sorry, my skin is really dry right now.)
Verdict: The estimated value of my fragrance this month is $9.46. This is on the lower side for this subscription but it is nice to receive something introduced only this year -- no old stock anyone is trying to use up, plus you can buy it again if you like it. Although this fragrance is not quite for me, that's a risk you take with opting for the scent of the month (and I have found some favorites that way, too). You can increase your odds by choosing your own fragrance (or other items) using Scentbird's tools; you can also maximize value that way.
