Quirky Crate November 2019 Review

Quirky Crate samples one item from a featured artist or brand each month. This month’s special find comes from House of Wonderland, founded by Tess Shearer. This info card gives you a little background info on their life and work as well as some social media info.

On the flipside, Quirky Crate includes an itemized list of each product and its value. This month's theme is "Let's Get Cozy!"

Time to get quirky, and for this month's theme, I've engaged hibernation mode!

Pencil Socks - Listed Value $9

Mismatched socks? How quirky! I don't mind the look, but I would have liked two pencil socks because they are so cute! Each design has a very '80s/'90s feel to it, an aesthetic that Quirky Crate is known for. I've come to love their medium-thick, roomy socks, and I find myself reaching for them often to spice up any casual outfit.

Rainbox Scarf - Retail Value $28

Cozy is an understatement when referring to this soft, inviting, oversized scarf. Mauve and rainbow are my two favorite colors, so I feel as if this scarf was customized just for me! This soft scarf will keep you very toasty with a fantastic pop of color. I will be pairing this with my black parka this winter, and I can see this looking great with a sweatshirt and jeans for a casual fall look as well.

Robot Purse - Listed Value $30

Beep, bop, boop! What an adorable bag! Everything from the sparkly pink accents to the robot's neutral expression makes this bag very charming and fun, especially for any sci-fi lover. The storage in this bag is very modest, so it may or may not be able to fit your essentials; I wasn't able to fit both my phone and keys in there together, but I do have quite a collection of keys. It comes with the same chain strap as usual, but I've also used QC's bags as clutches or makeup bags without the chain.

Snacks 4-EVER Enamel Pin - Retail Value $10

This pin measures at 1.75", and it is just how I like my snacks... extra large! I live for snacks, so this flair is all me. The bright colors and sparkles will definitely stand out on my pin flag among all the smaller enamel pins in my collection. Why am I all of a sudden craving salty french fries?

Sticky Tapes - Retail Value $5.50

I am always happy to get fun, colorful desk accessories in subscription boxes. This set of 3 sticky rolls of tape can liven up any gift, package or project with its cartoony presence. This tape is not opaque as you can see with the first roll in the packaging (the googly-eyed food design). I love using products like this when I am preparing a package to mail, adding a cutesy touch to an otherwise boring task.

Stick With Me Notes - Retail Value $4

With the same designs as above, these sticky notes will brighten any humdrum desk. They aren't very functional if you like to leave yourself lengthy notes due to the bold designs, but they are cute to use as little reminders and to add feisty commentary.

House of Wonderland Greeting Card - Retail Value $3.62 (£2.75 GBP), found here for $1.32 (£1.00 GBP)

It is that time of year to start getting festive! I love stationery, and this served as a great reminder to start preparing for the holidays; it is already December! House of Wonderland's Magical Reindeer Card is blank on the inside, so you can write in any message you please. The chubby reindeer adorned with holly has been digitally hand-drawn and colored, and the card comes with a plain white envelope.

The Verdict: Quirky Crate's November box was full of fun finds. All of the cozy products from this month's box put a smile on my face, per usual. The total value of this box adds up to $90.12, more than double the $36.95 + $6.50 shipping subscription cost. I always feel Quirky Crate is worth its cost because the curation and unboxing experience are a blast, and you can always find some awesome flair to display your quirkiness.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? If you sign up for a subscription, you will receive the December box.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $36.95 + $6.50 shipping, which means that each of the 7 items in the box has an average cost of $6.21.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.

The reindeer is a Christmas pudding! It’s a very British thing, and not a recognizable cartoon thing for most Americans. But that round shape with a blob of glaze and a sprig of holly on top is a classic!
It’s adorable just as a fat lil reindeer too, but I figured I’d add a bit more context 🙂

I’ve seen this style before, but I never knew what it was called! Thank you!

I’m not into pins and most items in these boxes are hit or miss for me, but THOSE PURSES! I would subscribe to a box just to get one of those purses every month.
