There was lots of great info in this month's box! This month's theme, "Yappy Howlidays," really shone throughout the entire box, and it started off strong with some really great dog advice. The holidays can be a stressful time regardless, but there's so much more around the house that a pupper can inadvertently get into! Some highlights of the advisories on this card include the decorations that can cause trouble, such as Christmas tree water and glass ornaments, and also pointed out that the holiday table can prove dangerous, too. I loved the tips and tricks on training here as well. My dog's no longer a puppy, but I'm always reading everything I can on ways to smarten up his manners and make him more successful at responding to commands!

Yappy Howlidays PupBox Scarf, Large

My sweet lab-border collie mix, Archer, turned a year old in August, and is the center of my universe. My husband and I adopted him in March, and honestly, it's the best decision we've made as a family in a really long time. He's the perfect piece to make our family complete! I never thought I'd be so into dressing him up, but I have a sweater, a Pittsburgh Penguins jersey, and more bandanas for him than I would like to admit. However, he doesn't have a scarf! I love this piece because it's so festive, a bright pattern, and he looks SO handsome in red. The scarf feels really well-made and high-quality, and I thought the sizing on this item was really spot-on. He was extremely interested in the fuzzy pom at the end, however, and I had to remove the cuteness so that he didn't nibble on it!

Good Lovin' Pumpkin Flavored Teething Rings

These are puppy teething rings, but my adult boy sure seemed to love them! He's a big fan of pumpkin, and I really liked the size and texture of these. They were nice to keep him occupied with chewing for a few minutes, and seemed like a nice supplement to his diet with the ingredients. I loved the re-sealable package that contained multiple servings since he liked them so much. This bag was marked for a "moderate" chewer, but I'd really love to see what the "aggressive" version of these chews would be like for him, and see if they could keep him occupied for even longer!

The Natural Dog Company Low-Odor 5" Curly Bully Stick

This Colorado company is really onto something with this curly bully stick! As the dog mom of a really intense chewer, I'm more than familiar with bully sticks (and try real hard not to think about what they actually are). The smell of a regular bully stick is no joke - they can be really intense, and stick around a room for a long time. However, this curl had no discernible smell, which I thought was somewhat miraculous given its material. Also, no small feat is this amazing stretchy, patented tag! As someone who is always peeling tags, stickers, etc off of toys and edibles for her pooch, I really appreciated how easy it was to remove this tag and let Archie enjoy his treat.

Zippy Paws Burrow Interactive Puzzle Toy

How insanely cute is this puzzle toy? Adding to the fun, I was actually able to give this to Arch while I had some friends over, and we all enjoyed taking turns tossing it around and playing with him. A large stocking containing squeaky plush bones, it took Archie a few minutes to figure out how to remove the bones from the outside of the toy (to be fair, he was content for a while with just simply biting through the stocking and making the entire thing squeak). Once he discovered the bones, he was elated! As always, my really aggressive chewer worked his way through the stocking in about 15 minutes, and destroyed the bones, one by one, in about 3 minutes apiece, but I think lighter chewers, even puppies, would be able to enjoy this for much longer than my guy.

Gnawsome Small Squeak and Light Ball

This was the surprise dark horse of the entire box! As I've mentioned, Archie is a crazy chewer, and I really thought that this ball, while cute, didn't stand a chance against him. I was so happy to discover I was wrong! Made of soft-but-durable plastic, this festive ball squeaks when squeezed, and lights up in a cycle of different colors when bounced on the floor. I thought this was a nice, light, amusing squeak, as opposed to some toys that are just plain obnoxious. More than once this toy reminded me of almost a chirping, like some kind of baby bird...especially since Archie squeaks it so many times in succession! It's rare that a toy lasts more than a day in this house, but I'm happy to report we're going strong on day three, and it's still making him very happy.

PupBox Holiday Pork & Apple Treats

Lastly, we have the bag of treats that came in this month's box! Now, full disclosure: my sweet boy is very food-motivated, and hardly picky when it comes to his goodies! I don't have my dude on a grain-free diet, so I was pleased to see oat flour, rice flour, pork, apple, and carrot among its ingredients. It seemed like these have a fair amount of nutrition, considering they are a snack, and as I said before, I am always on-board with treats that have a re-sealable bag. And can we please talk about those super-cute shapes? I love the attention to detail!

Verdict: This festive box made for a super-fun week with my boy! I loved the mix of edibles and toys, and I'm sure Archie thought Christmas came early because he was spoiled so much. The stocking toy was really well-made and crafted, the treats all seemed to have wholesome ingredients, and the endurance of that squeaky lighted ball really impressed me. I love that the box was curated to a festive holiday theme, and the additional training information in the box, while for puppies, was really interesting and helpful to me. I really like using boxes like this as an opportunity to bond with my dog and have lots of fun when we spend time together.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! The holiday box will be shipping for all subscribers until 12/13.

Thank you so much! He didn’t want to wear it for long, but I also managed to get it on him for our Christmas cards last year 🙂
