Pet Treater Cat Pack December 2019 Review

I sometimes find the dog version of Pet Treater a little bit random but the cat version (maybe because it is smaller) is often a little more focused:

Pet Treater Cat December 2019 Sticker

There’s not a traditional information card with this subscription, but you get a couple of inserts including a humorous sticker. Sometimes there is also product literature although this month there wasn’t.

Pet Treater Cat December 2019 Fabric

Pet Treater Cat December 2019 Monkey 1

Grinch "Kerchief"

Although I am kind of sad to be receiving fabric cut straight from the bolt passed off as a kerchief, Pet Treater fortuitously avoided a trademark violation by doing so with this item. Basically, you can sell unaltered fabric with licensed characters as a craft supply, but you can't make stuff from the fabric and sell it. (So, like, items made from Mickey Mouse and Star Wars and Harry Potter fabric is for personal use only, not for resale, and every Etsy shop selling such items is in violation of trademark laws and in danger of getting shut down and/or sued.) But since this is just a cut piece of fabric, which could be considered a craft supply, it is actually OK. Anyway, my cats don't really like wearing kerchiefs but I did get Monkey to pose in it. I couldn't get it on any of the others.

Pet Treater Cat December 2019 Catnip

Smarty Kat Organic Catnip (0.07 oz) - Buy 0.5 oz for $1.99 (found here for $1.92)

I couldn't find this particular size for sale online but the brand has other sizes available so I've linked to those. This is something that's hard to take pictures of kitties using but it's handy to have around for refreshing scratch pads and stuff like that. This seems good and it probably helps that it was tightly sealed to preserve freshness.

Pet Treater Cat December 2019 Treats

Stewart Fiber Formula Cat Treats (2.1 oz) - Retail Value $6.75

I am not sure why someone is making cat treats in non-resealable bags these days because I totally destroyed this trying to get it open without scissors. However, my cats do like the treats. High fiber can be useful for cats in some situations. For example, it's lower in calories for overweight cats, and this is also formulated to help with hairballs and urinary tract issues. Too bad I can't get Monkey to eat these because he has hairballs and has had urinary tract issues in the past (though he's been fine for years). Sneaky and Madison liked these. (Angus eats high fiber food because it helps with his IBD but he can't have these because they have poultry ingredients.)

Pet Treater Cat December 2019 Flicks

Boinks Kitty Flicks 3 Pack - Retail Value $4

I have received these in a couple of cat subscription boxes lately but, as it turns out, Monkey is totally into them lately. Now I have a few in every room where Monkey likes to play although some are probably lost under the furniture. (We used to not allow cat toys on the first floor but since Nyx -- my dog, who used to eat cat toys -- passed away we're slacking and not picking them up very often.)

Pet Treater Cat December 2019 Feathers

Pet Zone Vroom Plume - Retail Value $12.99

This requires batteries and they were not included but they were AA, a size we normally have on hand. This spins in a circle and the cats watched it a lot but were a little afraid to approach. It makes a fair amount of noise. They did like the feathers when it was not moving.

Here are some kitty photos for you.

Verdict: I was unable to calculate a total value for the December 2019 Pet Treater Cat Pack since I had trouble finding some of the items online. There were five items so each has an average value of about $3. Alternatively, the battery-operated toy had a value that was most of the value of the box, which would make the other items about 50 cents each. The kitty boinks toys were Monkey's favorite and I found that they worked well as a puzzle toy for Sneaky if I put a treat in there, and Sneaky and Madison really enjoyed the treats.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, your first pack will ship immediately filled with the most popular fan favorites. Also, there may be some variation among boxes sent during the same month.

Value Breakdown: At $15 per month for this subscription, you are paying approximately $3 per item.
