meowbox November 2019 Review

meowbox has a lot of exclusive toys that are usually pretty popular with my cats. From my perspective, it’s nice to see some things that don’t turn up in other cat subscription boxes:

Meowbox November 2019 Booklet Front

Meowbox November 2019 Coupon 1

Meowbox November 2019 Coupon 2

The information card typically just gives a URL for finding out more information about the items in the box. The picture is adorable, as usual. This month had a New York City theme. There was also a coupon for one of the products in the box.

Meowbox November 2019 Bagel

Mew York Bagel Toy

This is a catnip plush and as it turns out, a perfect size for wrestling. Sneaky rubbed her face on this but wouldn't do anything while the camera was on, but Angus had loads of fun. You can see him with it below.

Meowbox November 2019 Liberty

Statue of Libpurrty Toy 2-Pack

I tried to put the crown part on Monkey but he wouldn't look at the camera. I don't really think it's meant to be worn, anyway. It's more a case of cats liking ribbons. The torch has some interesting texture on the flame part that the kitties spent some time investigating, as well.

Meowbox November 2019 Taxi

Crochet Kitty Taxi Cat Toy

This is a handmade felt toy; you'll see the Crochet Kitty brand in meowbox pretty frequently. Angus and Monkey enjoyed this one. It is an ideal size for my cats as they tend to prefer small toys over large ones.

Meowbox November 2019 Wand

Pizza Rat Wand

If you don't know about pizza rat, watch this video first (it's short). That's the inspiration for this wand toy, which I think is really clever. The cats liked this toy as well, I even got Monkey and Sneaky to play with it a little (of course Angus played with it a lot, and rather violently at that).

Meowbox November 2019 Food

Love, Nala Tuna and Salmon in Broth Wet Cat Food (2.8 oz) - Buy 12 cans for $14.19

This was probably included as a promotional item but I don't mind (hence the coupon that was also included). I was looking for some wet food to tempt Madison and Monkey and this brand was new to me. And it's nice to try it before ordering a whole case, you know? Anyway, Monkey is a big fan of fish so he liked this. Madison nibbled at a bit (he's afraid of many new things) and Sneaky finished it off. (Angus can't have it.)

Meowbox November 2019 Treats

Pawsitively Canadian Turkey Functional Formula Cat Treats (25g)

This is, as you can guess from the name, a Canadian brand, and I couldn't find this product for sale on their website, which is too bad, as my cats really liked these a lot. Madison is a fan of turkey, always has been, and he even came out from his hiding spot under the bed for these treats. Sneaky of course wanted to eat them all, and Monkey even ate one. These are semi-moist treats that are supposed to have some health benefits. (I imagine you'd have to feed them for awhile to see the effects.)

Gratuitous cat photos (there are a lot this time):

Meowbox November 2019 Angus 10

Angus checks out the box contents. In case you were wondering, his toes that were injured a few weeks ago are looking much better.

If you look closely, you can see where the claws are missing.

Angus with the pizza rat wand. If you think he looks obese, it's because he is, but we are working with the vet and a nutritionist on this issue.

Meowbox November 2019 Madison 4

Madison wouldn't get too close to me. He has been kind of skittish lately.

Meowbox November 2019 Madison 3 Meowbox November 2019 Madison 2

Sneaky kept butting in when I was trying to give Madison treats. I'm not sure what Monkey is doing in the background.

Meowbox November 2019 Madison 1

He did get to eat a few that Sneaky didn't steal.

Meowbox November 2019 Monkey 6

Monkey spent an excessive amount of time rubbing his face on the box.

Meowbox November 2019 Monkey 5

He ate a couple of treats, too. (He is not usually food-motivated.)

Meowbox November 2019 Monkey 1 Meowbox November 2019 Monkey 3 Meowbox November 2019 Monkey 2

He played with the wand toy.

Meowbox November 2019 Monkey 4

And he rolled around on several of the other toys, too.

Meowbox November 2019 Sneaky 5

I like how one tooth shows here.

Meowbox November 2019 Sneaky 6 Meowbox November 2019 Sneaky 2

Sneaky investigates some of the other toys. She rubbed her face all over the bagel but it was hard to take a picture of.

Meowbox November 2019 Sneaky 4

Sneaky ate a lot of treats.

Meowbox November 2019 Sneaky 1 Meowbox November 2019 Sneaky 3

And she played with the wand for a bit, as well.

Verdict: I couldn't calculate a total value for November’s meowbox because the items weren't yet for sale in their shop. They will likely show up later, however, sometimes it takes them a few weeks. My cats had more fun with this box than they have had with any cat subscription box for a long time. I mean, they liked absolutely everything. This was a great box and taking kitty photos really improved my mood and I needed that after a hard week, so it was therapeutic for me, too!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? It may be too late for the November box, so your subscription would likely start with December, but you can buy some of the individual items from the meowbox store; just wait a week or two for the items to show up as they're not listed yet.

Value Breakdown: At $22.95 for the subscription plus free shipping, you are paying approximately $3.82 per item.

Wait what happened to Angus? I must have missed the story.

He ripped two claws out (one from each front paw) and bled all over the house. We had to go to the emergency vet. (He is fine now.)

They have great customer service! I signed up and didn’t realize I’d get an intro box – they’re saving a couple toys from this box for my kitties 🙂

Such a cute theme! Sad I skipped this month. The toys – with the exception of the Pizza Rat wand – are available in the shop now. 🙂
