Dose of Colors Hidden Treasures Palette - Retail Value $50.00

Ooooh, I have such feelings about this palette! Admittedly, the crazy layout makes me cringe. I get that the individual pans are meant to look like scattered treasure in a treasure box, but wow does this layout make my eye twitch. This is really a shame because the shadows themselves are absolutely stunning. There is a mix of 6 foils and 4 mattes, and all are smooth, highly pigmented, and gorgeous. I think this is a very clever assortment of shades because those 4 mates together make for a perfect daytime look while the metallic shimmers can amp up your night vibes. My top picks? This is hard! If I HAD to choose, it would be Map, Diamond, Pearl, and Ruby. But please don't make me choose.

Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer, 2 oz - Retail Value $39.00

I literally just bought a bottle of this, proving yet again that I don't have great timing. Ah well, my mom is obsessed with the stuff, so my inability to be patient is her gain! While I have drier skin, I like this lighter moisturizer for daytime wear. It has a natural watermelon scent that I enjoy sniffing obsessively throughout the winter as I wait for it to be warm again. It also has loads of hyaluronic acid and antioxidants that give my skin a pretty glow, and the gel formula is quick-absorbing and works well as a priming step before my normal makeup. I also own the slightly heavier but super similar AHA Glow Sleeping Mask, but I almost prefer this bottle because I can just pump out what I need and not dip my fingers into a pot.

Natasha Denona Lip Liner Pencil in 'L4 Natural Plum', 0.04 oz - Retail Value $18.00

I recently read a slightly older article about the Olsen twins and their consistently perfect lip color. Turns out, it is actually a liner that they use all over their lips, and I have kind of been obsessed with the idea ever since. (#funfact, I am a massive Olsen superfan and I feel great about it.) I haven't bought their perfect pencil yet (it is Makeup Forever in 3C, FYI) but I thought this would be close enough to try out. My initial fears about it being too brown were misplaced thankfully, and I really love this on my lips. I ended up doing super thick liner lines around my lips then blending towards the center, topping off with a basic balm. Very natural chic! If you lean more towards the drama side of lips, you could easily do a '90s-inspired darker liner with a glossy sheer center too. This formula is on the thicker side and buttery smooth. I found it to be pretty long-lasting too!

A very pretty nude. Am I chic yet?

Avant Supreme Hyaluronic Acid Anti-oxidising DUO Moisturiser, 50 ml - Retail Value $125.00

FYI: This product appears to normally be sold in a tub, while ours arrived in a tube. The size is the same.

This is one of those brands with products that I generally like quite a lot, but I find the over-the-top price tag always makes me skeptical. I know, I know, I didn't pay $125.00 for this item. I don't think I would spend that much on any cream unless it was gallon-sized... Don't get me wrong, the formulation is great and this stuff is loaded with ingredients that make my skin incredibly hydrated, but the retail value just seems crazy. I am going to try and overlook that and enjoy how freaking soft this heavier cream makes my face.  I used this as the last step before bed and slept in a pretty heavy layer of it, waking up in the morning to velvet soft skin and hydration that stayed with me throughout most of my day.

Basic Beauty Glowy AF Wet Glow Trio, 8.6 g - Retail Value $30.00

I can always count on Boxy to continue to feed my highlighter obsession. It is bordering on obsessive and unhealthy. I only have a few other jelly formulas though, so I was giddy when these arrived. This trio has a golden champagne shimmer, a cooler champagne, and a girly pink. For my skin tone, I generally gravitate towards the cooler shade for a highlighter, but that golden shade was stunning on my lids. The creamy jelly texture makes them easy to blend and very buildable. The pink went on a lot lighter then I thought it would, giving the apples of my cheeks a very natural flush. I do hope that these won't dry out quickly, as the palette doesn't really have any sort of airtight feature to keep them in their wet form, but only time will tell.

Bite Beauty Agave+ Nighttime Lip Therapy, 0.5 oz - Retail Value $22.00

Finally, our last item was one I had my fingers crossed for! My lips get really dry and sad throughout the cold winter months, especially in that last stretch after January! This formula is thick and decadent! Unlike so many of the more effective lip masks out there, this one is vegan and cruelty-free, and I find it to be an effective lanolin alternative. I keep masks like this on my bedside table so I remember to apply them before I settle in for bed. Will has even been known to borrow them himself! This one left my lips so soft in the morning and I can't wait to test it against the cold winds of January. It arrived with its own cute little spoon so you don't have to apply with your finger. Another bonus is the generous tub size and the chamomile-bergamot fragrance.

Verdict: My BoxyCharm box has an overall value of $284 which is an outstanding value for a $35 box. I very much enjoyed all of this month's items, (even that palette that I was secretly hoping I wouldn't get because of the layout). The shadows themselves are just too good! The Glow Recipe was another win, though for my mom this time, and the lip liner I really like! The trio of highlighters will be perfect for those holiday parties coming up and the Avant cream and lip treatment will be perfect for keeping my face looking its best after all of those parties. There wasn't a single item I was unhappy with this month. Premium continues to impress me!

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Ok, totally confused. I just got my Boxycharm Premium and I got the Large blue Story Book Cosmetics Palette I was supposed to get in my Boxyluxe I never received, Watermelon Glow, Confetti highlighter, Avant moisturiser, Agave lip therapy, and the Kat Von D black eyeliner. It was missing the card that gives the prices and variation #. Boxycharm is just an absolute mess this month. I pray they replace the Boxyluxe I never received and hope they get their ducks in a row…. I guess it would be worse. Happy I got one of my boxes for December

Really mad at Boxycharm this month. It was my first month for premium, my box never shipped, it took two emails and a call out on social media before I even got a shipping email. My box seems to be a random box of stuff, no card, no info or anything. I got the Storybook cosmetics palette, a Skinfix balm, Avant balm, Kat Von D liner, Ciate highlighter that’s too dark and the Glow Recipe moisturizer.

I never had the option to use the code, but I signed up via the email offer. I don’t even remember signing up for the waitlist, but I got an offer to do so and I took it. I look forward to my future boxes.

Beth

Oops. NVM. I guess it was just an offer to join the waitlist. The way they asked to clarify my cc info, I thought it was a done deal! All of this can get confusing. . .

They are masters of deception. Be careful with BC. I’m never buying from them anymore.

Of all the possible palettes, I got the ND cranberry which I already have from a Beautylish lucky bag. My box also had the watermelon moisturizer, Avant cream, Kat von D pencil liner, Bite lip therapy, and Ciate highlighter. Variation 32. It’s a good box, but I am tired of all the variations with Boxy. Hoping for a specific item and not getting it. I’m going to try Fashionsta for a change.

Do you know how much your box weight?

Seeing all these complaints makes me feel like I am blessed by the lords of boxycharm. I managed to get off the waitlist it’s first month, I did add myself quickly after seeing MSA post. I received my box timely although the storybook palette was damaged. Then today I received another box. It had the ND cranberry palette. So I somehow got two boxes when people are having trouble getting one, one with the unicorn.

I am a disabled 41 year old hermit with no social media or any other influence. I think they are just a mess and there is no rhyme or reason to any of it.

AH

I am fairly upset (and I do not usually complain or negativity comment). I got Luxe and Premium. My Luxe showed up first. Premium came and I got a second Storybook palette and a second black Kat Von D eyeliner 🙁 So two repeats from Luxe and Premium
I’ve emailed customer service and I have yet to get a response. It’s nice to see that they recognized it with other products.
I really hope someone in their customer service dept sees my comment. A 1/3 of my Premium box was repeats.

I got an email saying they shipped me the same confetti highlighter they put in my luxe box. They will ship me a surprise item separately. I’m glad they realized their mistake and saved me the effort of contacting them.

Reply ButtonReply

Dk

Me too, hope it’s good because that highlighter seems to dark for my fair skin anyway so now I’m stuck with 2! 🙄

Reply ButtonReply

summersam

yup, me too! hopefully the replacement isn’t a cheap replacement like an eyeliner -_-

Reply ButtonReply

Jacki

I received my box today, and it contains an eyeliner already so maybe the lip liner 😂. I received the ND palette which I’m really excited about!

blondie1021

HAHA, well there are at least 32 variations 😉 I received the ND pallet so I am thrilled, it is very pretty. Still waiting on my luxe.

Nice! Congrats!

I got the storybook palette, all over my box 😆. Grimm was everywhere.

Other than that super pleased, did not want KVD and got the pink ND lip liner. Plus the avant, bite lip mask, highlighter palette and watermelon moisturizer. Great for $35.

That unnecessary apostrophe on the highlighter palette is making my eye twitch.

Ugh – right there with you. One of my pet peeves.

I got the Natasha Denona Cranberry palette in my premium and I can’t say how happy I am about it! I love it! I love the entire box! The Bite Beauty Agave lip treatment is the best I’ve ever tried!

Reply ButtonReply

Tami

I am super confused and can’t get a response from BoxyCharm, so was wondering if anyone here knows. I have the BoxyLuxe subscription but was recently added to Premium. I just got both boxes, but each had a Storybook Little Briar Rose palette and a Kat Von D liner in it. Am I supposed to cancel one in favor of the other so I don’t get duplicates? I thought they were supposed to be different items. Thanks!

Reply ButtonReply

AH

Happened to me too! Both the Storybook and Kat Von D. And I saw on the other Premium thread that they actually emailed someone to let them know it happened with the palette and were sending the Natasha Denona palette. I pray that we (with a 1/3 of our box as repeats) get the same outcome! Super disappointing. I really would rather have the palette than charms. I am sure the majority of us feel this way. And then reading that they’re doing it for others gives me hope, I just hope they really try to treat the same problem with the same solution. Trying to manifest that ND palette for us girls.

I received this email from Boxycharm today:
Hello Charmer,

It has been brought to our attention that you received a Storybook Cosmetics Fairy Tales – Little Briar Rose Palette in your BoxyLuxe and BoxyCharm Premium. We are so sorry and are making it right!

We are we are sending you a Natasha Denona product! You will receive a tracking email when your item is ready to ship. Keep the duplicate Storybook on us.

We hope you love your December Boxy as much as we do. 🖤

XoXo
Your BoxyCharm team

Jen

It happened to me too. I looked at comments on Facebook and it appears it been happening a lot, despite their promises we wouldn’t get duplicates. It also looks like people have been awarded 5500 charms rather than being sent the correct palette. What a bummer.

Reply ButtonReply

summersam

ugh i hate the points ! there is never anything in the charm room that i want! I would prefer to return my whole box for a refund than receive nonesense points. no one subscribed to receive points, we subscribe to receive no repeats!

Beccah

That isn’t supposed to happen. You should have gotten the dose of colors palette in the premium.

Reply ButtonReply

Tammy

I received the same thing, version 28 in premium and 27 in Luxe. Very unhappy since they said it wasn’t supposed to happen if both subscriptions were on same account. I’m waiting for an answer to my email. 🙁

Reply ButtonReply

Dani

You’re definitely not supposed to get duplicate items. Sometimes their customer service takes forever to respond and it’s incredibly frustrating, I know from experience. I learned that if you message them a second or third time without having heard from them you get bumped to the back of the queue. I assume it’s because it’s perceived as a totally new message by their computer systems. I would give them 3-5 days then try reaching out through Facebook. I’ve always gotten a reply eventually but there has been at least one occasion where it took two weeks. That might’ve been before I knew not to send multiple messages though. Good luck! Hope you hear back soon. I’m sure when they finally reply they’ll make it right. Hopefully they’ll send replacement products as opposed to offering you points. I can’t imagine them not having enough inventory to just send you other products though.

I got the storybook palette! Not practical, but sooo pretty!!!!

Samantha Warwick

Does anyone know I have all 3 boxes . So this month will i recieve all three or just premium n luxe?

Reply ButtonReply

AH

You will only get Premium and Luxe this month. Lol I think it’s funny to say “only” because I got both and it’s a lot of products. I couldn’t imagine getting a base box on top of the other two.

Reply ButtonReply

Samantha Warwick

I got my premium a day ago ! It wasnt bad at all got something I haven’t seen mentioned much the laneige special care eye sleeping mask, the skinfix, dose palette, kvd liner not the liquid one though highlighter palette and glow moisturizer .

Reply ButtonReply

Jess D.

I got this box as well. Version 29. Came here to see if anyone else had the Laneige! Seems nice.

Reply ButtonReply

Nastassia

I got the same box as you Samantha!

Reply ButtonReply

Michelle

I was so excited to get the premium box this time around, only to be majorly underwhelmed by the full reveal. I love the Glow Recipe moisturizer so happy about that, the only palette I’m interested in is the ND and that’s pretty unlikely that I’ll get it, so not holding my breath. No interest in some unknown brands cheap looking highlighter palette, and another eyeliner?? C’mon. Also, some boxes will get 2 moisturizers…Why? That Avant is another weird obscure brand. And why an eczema cream?? This may be my first and last premium…sadly not impressed.

Reply ButtonReply

Dani G.

I totally agree about the two moisturizers. Especially because I already own the Glow Recipe, one in full size and one deluxe, both unopened. I also understand about the Skinfix Dermatitis cream but I have to say I wanted that so badly. I get dermatitis patches on my face, neck, ears and scalp mostly in colder weather but it also sometimes crops up as one of my many PMS symptoms all year round. Unfortunately this was my first Premium box so I wasn’t allowed to pick an item. I should just be happy with the lip mask because it gets absolutely rave reviews and it’s a cruelty free, clean beauty product but I already have SO MANY lip treatments of every brand and formula imaginable. But I definitely see why people would feel cheated if they got the Skinfix and don’t need it when they could’ve received the super popular lip mask.

I hope I get the watermelon pink juice moisturizer!I really want the eye shadow palette so much!

I think everyone gets the watermelon moisturizer?

Jessica

I was billed for Pemium but don’t have a shipping label yet. This seems later than normal, and definitely later than last month. Is anyone else in the same boat?

Reply ButtonReply

Crystal

Yep, I just got a shipping label for my Luxe box 10 minutes ago. Much later than usual in the month. My guess is that they’re behind due to the late pop-up shop. I just got those items a couple days ago.

Reply ButtonReply

Dani G.

I still haven’t gotten my Luxe shipping label and it’s not showing shipped on my account. I did get one of my pop-up shop orders today and my Premium box yesterday. I just want that Luxe box to get here mostly just because I’m anxious to see which products I got.

Jessica

Thanks Crystal! Let’s hope we all get our boxes soon.

I got the Natasha Denona palette, I’m so excited!! I love her sparkly shadows!!

Mine will be here this week. I sooooo hope I get the ND eyeshadow palette. And the ND lipliner. That’s probably not at all realistic though. I’m not normally a big blush fan because I have a ton already but this formula looks intriguing. I’d love to get that. I didn’t think Premium was going to have as many variants. That’s the one thing I’m nervous and kinda disappointed about. Oh and the other thing is that I really wish they’d allow us to get Luxe with Premium. Going forward I just can’t/won’t pay for all 3 subs from them each month.

Reply ButtonReply

Megan K.

I was crossing my fingers for that palette too! Oh well, can’t win ’em all!

Reply ButtonReply

Dani

Unfortunately I didn’t get the ND palette. Oh well at least I got the ND lipliner. Unlike probably 99.9% of subscribers I actually wanted the Skinfix Dermatitis treatment but I got the lip mask everyone else wanted. It’s funny because it’s been 5+ years now and I almost always feel like I get the worst, least popular, least usable or even giftable variants every time but the one time I hoped that would hold true they sent me the “better” product. I wasn’t super excited to get the Glow Recipe because I already have two bottles but I can probably sell or gift it. Overall this was a pretty great first Premium box for me.

It’s nice to see less variants than with regular and Luxe but I wonder if that will change as they take more people off the waitlist. It seems like Luxe started out with less but they’re starting to have more and more it seems.

Aubrey Ferrin

Is hope I get the watermelon pink Juice Moisturizer for my face.

It’s open. Disappointed. 2 things I want are already sold out.
