Stitch Fix Kids November 2019 Review
In our Stitch Fix Kids box, we received this cute sticker sheet.
This is the invoice that was sent in the box. It provides specifics on the brand, size, and price of each item. They also give instructions at the bottom for how to check out and either purchase or return your items in the pre-paid postmarked envelope they provide. The items for my daughter came to a total of $222, but with the 25% discount (which they take off BEFORE they deduct the $20) and the $20 credit, our total drops down to $146.50. That's a savings of $75.50 on this Fix!
This is the included style sheet, which features pictures of all the clothing and a note from her stylist. This is the second time we have had her stylist, Kari, and so far she's done a great job of sending items to match Liv's style. This month I asked for some long sleeve tops since the weather is definitely on the verge of winter-cold here!
Emersyn Longsleeve Sequin Varsity Tee by Third Wish Clothing, Size 7 - Cost to Keep $20.00
This top was actually my favorite this month because I love the navy and pink together! That sequin heart is really fun, too, and this was probably her second favorite top this month out of everything we received. This is a size 7 and it fits her pretty well and is just a tad long in the sleeves. While I loved this shirt and thought it was cute, it is very similar to two of the other tops she received since they all have those varsity stripes on the sleeves, so we only ended up keeping one of them.
Shelby Fleece Lined Seamless Legging by Capelli New York Size M - Cost to Keep $12.00
These leggings were a perfect choice! They have a super soft, warm fleece lining inside and the navy color with tiny gold stars is something that will match with pretty much any top. They are a bit long on her, but that just means these will last her through spring!
Here you can see the leggings paired with the first top, complete with a photo of her photo-crashing little brother!
Raye Tulip-Hem Sequin Graphic Pullover by Third Wish Clothing, Size 8 - Cost to Keep $26.00
I thought this top was super cute, but for some reason, Liv didn't like it as much as the other two varsity tops. This is more of a sweatshirt material which is pretty soft and while it was a little big on her, I thought it looked adorable! I love the colors and that fun cross hem detail at the front. This one also paired nicely with the leggings she received.
Katrine Embellished Knit Skinny Jean by Flapdoodles, Size 6 - Cost to Keep $24.00
I really, really loved this pair of skinny jeans that they sent! They were stretchy like jeggings and had the cutest, subtle sequin detail at the bottom. Liv liked them a lot too, but they just reached the bottom of her legs, and the way she grows, I'm afraid she would outgrow them in no time and they already looked a bit short on her to start with. I would have gladly exchanged these for the next size up, but they were all out of stock. Sometimes I am a little confused about their sizing choices, although I am sure it has nothing to do with the stylist, but more so with their inventory system! Everything else she received was size 7 or 8, but these were a 6. She probably would have been okay with a 6X, but she really is on the verge of 6X/7 these days.
Emersyn Longsleeve Sequin Varsity Tee by Third Wish Clothing, Size 8 - Cost to Keep $20.00
This varsity top was Liv's favorite top this month. I thought it was definitely cute and I'm sure the fact that pink is her favorite color had a lot to do with it! This is actually the exact same top as the first one, but in a different color and surprisingly in a bigger size. They seemed to fit the exact same way to me, and I might have even thought the navy one was bigger, but who knows? I didn't realize the sizes were different until writing this, otherwise, I would have done a comparison of them next to each other!
The Tunic Feather Hoodie by RUMI + RYDER, Size S - Cost to Keep $26.00
This pullover sweater was super soft and seemed like it would be pretty warm, but Liv wasn't a fan and while I love the feel of it, I agree that it was sort of a boring choice to a vibrant five-year-old. If this had been a cardigan, then I would have liked it a lot since we could add a pop of color underneath. It is a nice piece, but just not quite her style!
Alina Waffle Top by Love Glam Girl, Size S - Cost to Keep $18.00
This top was soft with a nice waffle-weave and while I like the color, this one was just much too big on her. She wasn't overly excited by this one either and since it was a bit thin, I am not sure if it would really be that warm of a long sleeve top. Overall, this one was just kind of underwhelming.
Amber Shift Dress by Sofia & Zeke, Size S - Cost to Keep $24.00
This dress might be cute on an older child, but the style was sort of lost on her tiny body! I like the colors and the pink patches on the elbow are an interesting detail, but I wasn't a fan of the tie-up neckline. She usually gets really excited by dresses, but she wasn't interested in this one much at all. The sleeve length was also a bit odd on her!
Ingrid Hooded Chenille Cardigan by Nine One Eight, Size S - Cost to Keep $24.00
This hooded cardigan was super soft and definitely warm with its thick-knit chenille fabric. I liked the muted pink color a lot, too. Liv liked this one okay, but it was a little big on her and since there were no buttons or zippers, it kept sliding off of her shoulders making it too uncomfortable for her to wear. I thought it was a cute choice, but I definitely wish it had buttons to make it more practical for her!
Morisa Ruffle Jumpsuit by Walking on Sunshine, Size M - Cost to Keep $28.00
I was really confused about this one when I saw it in her box. It didn't seem like something Liv would like nor did it seem appropriate for winter, but this was her FAVORITE piece this month! I have no idea why, but she was so excited at the idea of a jumpsuit! I tried to reason with her that this was not really a good one for winter, but she was so quick to go and grab a few of her cardigans and tell me that she could wear them over it to make it warm! I was incredibly surprised (maybe even dumbfounded), but this girl certainly has her own style and she knows what she likes. I have no doubts that she will wear this one frequently and I think that a long sleeve top underneath will be kind of cute, too. This would not have been my first choice, but seeing her happy in this one was pretty endearing!
Her stylist recommended pairing it with the chenille cardigan, but I didn't like the knit-on-knit look. Plus, since they are both a bit big on her, it looked a little odd.
The Verdict: Liv's latest Stitch Fix Kids collection was pretty solid! We always have a few sizing issues or at least one or two items that don't match her style, but I think that's bound to happen when they send ten pieces each time. I really cannot express enough how I wish that they sent fewer items for kids like they do for the adults! It still worked out okay since we found a few great staple pieces that will be perfect for winter. While I am happy that her stylist sent a lot of long sleeve tops as I requested, I do wish that there weren't three with those varsity sleeves! Overall, the $20 styling fee was worth it for the fun we had trying new styles (that jumpsuit would never have made it into our shopping cart in store!) all in the convenience (and warmth) of our own home!
