PinkSeoul Mask Brightening & Sparkling Review

Prior to purchasing a subscription, PinkSeoul will ask you several customization questions. Some products are more appropriate/recommended for a particular skin type so be sure to figure out what your skin type is.

Here is the info sheet for this month's box.

Holika Holika Milky Bun Puff - Retail Value $8

Based on the name I thought this would be one of those things you use when putting your hair up in a bun to give it shape, but nope. This is a latex-free sponge that can be used to apply makeup, but it is much firmer than the standard beautyblender. I haven't quite decided how to use it, to be honest- does anyone have suggestions?

JM Solution 24K Gold Eye Mask - Retail Value $3.50

I love eye masks, but thanks to the knowledgeable science guru Ragan I know that the gold molecule is too big to actually penetrate my skin. These were still fun to wear, and the delicate skin around my eyes felt more hydrated after wearing.

Medera Gold and Peptide Mask - Retail Value $4

This is a two-part gold foil mask that fit really well thanks to the design, and it was cooling on my face the entire time I wore it. I didn't notice an "amazing whitening effect" like it proclaims on the package, but it was an enjoyable mask to wear.

Boncho Moisturizing Bamboo Mask - Retail Value $3

The packaging on this was completely in Korean, but the sheet mask itself is made from bamboo and whatever was on the ingredients list left my face feeling juicy and hydrated.

True Island Honey Bee Royal Propolis Sheet Mask - Retail Value $3

This mask had a light honey scent and had a thick essence that hugged my face. This has the bee lovers trifecta with royal jelly, propolis, and honey extract among the ingredients, and it definitely left my skin feeling nourished. Unfortunately, the large amount of serum took a long time to dry on my face once the mask was removed (which didn't bother me since I was watching football and just chilling on the couch), but will probably be a turn off for most people.

Berrisom Horror Mask in Black Rice - Retail Value $3

This mask was fun! It has a skeleton design printed on it, so I looked spooky while wearing it just in time for Halloween. This mask was longer and narrower, so it didn't fit my entire face which is important to me in a sheet mask. I also thought the mask smelled like alcohol (rubbing, not spirits) and that is definitely a turn off.

Stelbi Brightening Final Mask - Retail Value $2

This mask had no discernible fragrance and was made of a comfy material that had a bit of stretch, which fit my face well. This is made with niacinamide (an ingredient I do love), but if you're looking for some serious skin brightening you need a niacinamide serum or treatment beyond a 15-minute sheet mask.

Perfect Solution Charcoal Mask - Retail Value $4

Perfect Solution Propolis Mask - Retail Value $4

Both of these masks were really enjoyable. The charcoal version has charcoal and tea tree, while the propolis has its namesake which is a great ingredient for moisturizing. Both were made of a comfortable material that had a slight stretch for a good fit, and they were cooling the entire time I wore them. All of my personal preference boxes were checked with these!

Peripera Sparkling TokTok Time Cool Lime Mask - Retail Value $2

Periper Sparkling TokTok Time Cherry Refreshing Mask - Retail Value $2

Both of these masks were pretty basic once you looked beyond the brightly colored packaging, but basic isn't always bad. Considering the affordable price of these I enjoyed the moisture they provided, and the masks were cooling on my skin.

The Verdict: PinkSeoul is a mask subscription I've realized I can constantly rely on to provide a good assortment of sheet masks with a variety of textures and ingredients. I'm not sold on that bun puff, and overall this box has a much lower value than what I have come to expect as typical- by my math, all of the items add up to $38.50. I am not *too* concerned about the lower value because that isn't the norm, but it is definitely something I will be mindful of when looking at future boxes from them.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive the November box.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

Bun puff ideas. Put an exfoliating wash on it and use on arms or use to rub around a grainy face wash?
