This month's palette is called "Scorpio." It's packaged inside a matching cardboard sleeve.

I have never held a palette quite like this. I am more than intimidated by the matte red shade and the greens are also really loud. Here is how they swatch:

Here are the first 5. Top to bottom: Secretive, Sensual, Intelligent, Magnetic, Passionate

The shimmers from top to bottom: Powerful, Attractive, Loyal, Wild

I am going to admit now that I am not crazy about these shades. The reds and greens are really, really bold. I do like the middle row and the pretty 'Loyal' shade, so I am going to try to make a subdued look with these tones and maybe a hint of green:

Here is what I came up with. I applied 'Powerful' over most of my lid with my fingertip, then blended it with a fluffy brush upwards.  It is a very pretty olive-leaning color that I did love on my lid. To give it a little more drama, I used a slightly damp brush and pressed both 'Secretive' and 'Wild' along my lower eyelid. I added a touch of 'Loyal' and 'Passionate' into my crease and then blended upwards towards my brow. I filled in the area of my brown bone with MAC eyeshadow in 'Blanc Type.' Finally, I added a little bit of 'Magnetic' to my inner eye for a little brightness.

Though I had doubts about this palette (and arguably, with my sort of makeup look I would only use about half of it regularly) I really like the look above. I never would have ever reached for a green shadow but I have to admit that it pulls out the green edges in my eyes. I think this look will be really pretty for the holidays too.

The Verdict: I know I say this like every single time I review this subscription, but this ShadowMe palette was so beyond my comfort zone. I do feel like more seasoned makeup enthusiasts might make better use of the bold colors than I can or would, especially those reds! I did end up really liking my festive green look and I feel a little more confident about adding greens to my routine for special occasions.

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this palette if I sign up today?: Yes, but LiveGlam expects this palette to go FAST! You must be a member to buy this palette, but if you are a new member, you can use the LiveGlam trade feature to pick it as your first palette.

ACTIVE DEAL: Get a free bonus KissMe liquid lipstick with your first month of ShadowMe! No coupon needed - just use this link.

Value Breakdown: If you picked this palette as your monthly palette, each of the 9 eyeshadows has an average cost of $2.22.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Megan,
You’re getting better at doing eyeshadow! My eyes and skin are similar to yours (only I’m more pale) and I think green definitely looks good although I dont wear it daily either. Great look and your practice is paying off 🙂

Thanks so much Karen! I will admit, those reds had me sweating. I just decided to avoid them! Glad you liked the looks and thanks for following along on my progress!

Great review. I really like the look you created. I’ve been scared of trying green eyeshadow, but this makes me want to give it a shot!

I was really hesitant at first with them Claudia. It really helped to just build a look I liked then add in green at the end. Thanks for reading!
