dislike anything Skin & company makes, tried many of their products and gave them away (yuk)

I never received emails to choose.

I feel kinda dumb because I picked the 111skin thinking it was full sized! Lol I should I have known better…and read more carefully! Otherwise I would have picked GlamGlow for my daughter.

The Too Faced Shimmer body powder is so cute! I hope I get it in my GBP.

I would totally use it!

I almost chose it but chose the 111Skin because I love their products!

I’ve been a bit underwhelmed with Ipsy since the Betty Boop products were not that great of quality. I was so looking forward to them since I love Betty Boop. November didn’t have anything I was excited about and the choices and spoilers for December caused me to pause again. I have other things I really need to put my $50 towards. I could make it work if there were some great items, but this just seems lackluster.

I opted for the 111Skin Product. I have some of their other products that came in subscription boxes and it was nice stuff. I have no idea whether it works but then I don’t think any of the stuff actually has “magic” properties. If it’s pleasant to use then I’m on board.

Like a previous poster, with the serums and moisturizers I get from beauty boxes I am very generous with amounts and where I use them. I spread them down my chin through my chest. I also use them as hand creams because they are on my hands anyway.

Anything that is supposed to theoretically “lighten” and “brighten” I like to use on the back of my hands where I have some sun spots – especially on the left hand which is exposed to light coming through my car window as I drive. Anyone wanting to see how damaging the sun can be only has to look at exposed skin and the difference between that an skin that never sees the light of day – or in my case the difference between the back of my left and right hands – and that is through glass in a car which is supposed to have a bit of a tint.

111Skin is a high end European brand. Whether it is worth the money is kind of besides the point. The ingredients in any beauty product are relatively inexpensive so the price that is charged has very little to do with actual manufacturing costs but is driven by promotion, packaging and what the traffic will bear.

To the best of my recollection, the threads on 111Skin decided that the ingredients were the same but the packaging might have been altered so it couldn’t be returned. The Raine eye shadow was a different issue as the eyeshadows distributed by IPSY were made in China versus the ones distributed by the company are all made in USA and that is a big selling point for Raine.

I have no inside knowledge but logically it would seem odd for a brand to completely reformulate a serum or cream for insertion in a beauty box since that would require tooling up a new product. An eyeshadow would be easy to purchase for any eyeshadow manufacturer in China and just slap on a label.

I just opened my box and the 111skin is made in China and exclusively for Ipsy.

I LOVE 111 Skin. A plastic surgeon developed the line. No way would I miss out on selecting this product if I had Ultimate! Agree with all your points and I use my products liberally on my hands (and feet!) as well. Kypris in this month’s Boxy was packaged for them, as well. It’s just how companies and sub companies do business for promotion. It has nothing to do with ingredients, which are identical.

Reply ButtonReply

amyr

I chose the 111skin too!

I agree with every single thing you said!

Their products are awesome! I can’t wait to try this!

Marion

Glad I had planned to skip, anyway. I can’t believe they’re recycling those Girlactik sticks yet again! How many of those things do they have?!

I think these choices are dismal. Too Faced & Morphe are both shady brands, I don’t trust the ipsy house brand any more than them, and — though I haven’t verified it myself — someone on Reddit compared the 111Skin ingredients listed on the Ipsy website to the 111Skin ingredients listed on the Dermstore site, & they don’t match.

Reply ButtonReply

No, Thank You.

Yes, thank you. The 111 Skin ingredients don’t seem to match — and nor do they seem to have the same manufacturer as the one sold for hundreds. The original is manufactured in Europe somewhere if I remember correctly and at least past Ipsy 111 Skin products were of course produced in China. If others are saying that packaging is different….. then this is in no way the same item aside from having the brand name slapped onto it. I don’t know about you guys but… that makes me wholly distrust anything and everything about this 111 Skin company. If they agree to manufacture subpar products that go out to however many thousands of Ipsy subscribers then they don’t care about the quality of their brand and they don’t care about gaining customers that would readily pay several hundred dollars as a repeat customer. This is an obvious cash grab, there are hardly (if any) actual reviews about this brand or their products— aside from some obvious promotional articles that came out before or shortly after 111 Skin launched, and there are far too many completely sketch comments and reviews from supposed customers gushing about their products on places like this website and Reddit for the skeptic that lives inside me to not come busting out, shouting, with a red flag waving and all. I’ll pass.

I choose the 111 skin. I just go nuts with any of these SUB box serums and creams. I slather them all over my face, neck and decollete so I go through them quite fast. I am grateful to be able to generously pamper myself with them all. I use a night pair then a day pair so I am mixing products and my skin is feeling quite supple and moist these days.

Moist 🤢

I decided to skip. I would get the 111 skin IF there was antiaging ingredients in it. A lot of their ingredients are not too impressive esp for the price also they are not clinical grade products such as Skin Medica and Obagi

Hi everyone,I got the 111skin product,I do agree with everyone that it is really expensive, however the products from this company works amazing for me….Like someone else said some products will work for others and some products wont….I am going to be 52 in January and everyone that I tell this too, tells me no way I look around 35,and part of the reason is because of the products from this brand….Again just because it works for me does not mean it will work for someone else, but I do love this company brands, and jump at the chance to grab them when I can.

I’m 60 and look 30s. I credit a lot of my great eye look to 111 products (and my use of sunscreen most all of my life). I do a lot of work outdoors and have a lot of sun exposure. You would never know it, though!

Reply ButtonReply

Uhhhhh ohhhhk

Oh come on. The marketing here is both blatant and fierce. It’s so overwhelming that anyone who had slight suspicions prior to this are full-blown paranoid now.

Katy

I am so stoked to try the 111 face cream. I am almost 40 and still look late 20’s and I have nothing to thank but decent genes and good quality skincare for it. To be able to try a $$$$ full sized cream at such a discount is so exciting for me, even if I end up not liking it.

I looked so young until I turned 60. One day I became an ugly old woman. It was sudden.

Like you I have always taken care off my skin and lived a clean lifestyle.

Now I look like Prune Face! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Julie

I would 109% never use body shimmer but if I had ultimate I would totally pick that because it’s so cute and you know it’s going to smell amazing lol

Reply ButtonReply

Regina

I picked it. I’m a sucker for cute packaging!

Reply ButtonReply

Shawna

I picked the body shimmer. All the choices look good though aside from the Pixi balm sticks yet again lol.

Reply ButtonReply

Sunny

I chose the Too Faced powder. It was so cute! I’m still hoping to get the 111Skin to try. Fingers crossed.

Reply ButtonReply

Nikkim

I love that skin & co product. It’s not too harsh but has scrubbies on the harder side and it smells amazing! I don’t get this ipsy but just in case anybody was wondering about that product I love it

Reply ButtonReply

Cassandra

I was going to ask the same thing. What is the deal with 111 skin. There prices are so high.

Reply ButtonReply

HB

I decided to skip GBU because of product overload but would have picked the Skin&Co or the Morphe.

I know I have no evidence to back this up but I’m so suspicious of 111Skin (rv seems so inflated for an obscure company?)

Reply ButtonReply

Dana

You are right to be suspicious. Go ahead and take a look at ipsy’s ingredients and the ingredients listed for the same product on 111skin’s website. They are VERY different. About a month ago someone on here mentioned they investigated an ingredient difference for a different company (not 111skin), and the company confirmed that they licensed their name out to ipsy, and ipsy reproduced a version of the item in China to put in the glam bag. Now, it’s not confirmed that they do this specifically for 111skin, but considering that ipsy’s ingredients are so different than the company’s website…I think it’s pretty likely that this is essentially a (legal) counterfeit item.

Reply ButtonReply

Lori

Your comment made me curious, so I checked the ingredients of 2 products on both the ipsy site and the 111Skin website and the ingredients are exactly the same, in the same order.

Debbie

I have wondered about licensed products when I get an item that is labeled exclusively for boxycharm. I wasn’t sure if it was licensing or if they were making sure the product couldn’t get returned to Sephora or So good to know licensing is going on and to check labels.

Marcie

It is not an obscure company. I have known of them for a while now. I have also sampled some products.

Reply ButtonReply

amyr

It is sold at Nordstrom and Barneys and is a British Company.

Reply ButtonReply

Jane

Has anyone tried this 111skin cryo gel? I’m tempted to try $200 product for $50 & count the rest (pretty much guaranteed all low value items) as a bonus

Reply ButtonReply

mari

There are lots of good reviews for their eye gel, but I’ve yet to see amazing results. I got the eye gel in a GB. I tend to agree that they are overpriced as a brand.

Reply ButtonReply

LB

I have been battling extremely dry and therefore extra wrinkly eyes for a month now (combo of cold weather, dry air and likely cleansers to remove eye makeup). Nothing has worked until I broke out my sample of the 111Skin from GB. I saw overnight results. Now I’m trying to figure out how to get a deal on the full size to justify splurging…lol.

Beccah

I love 111skin. It works great for me!

Reply ButtonReply

Alice R

I do, too. 111 is quality.

Dani G.

I’d love to know that myself. None of the spoilers looked very good so unless that gel is amazing I will skip December and use the money towards all the great sales going on right now.

Reply ButtonReply

Danielle

everything I hear about it is that it doesn’t work for everyone and is likely not the same product if you buy from them directly. Honestly, even without that, the prices alone make me suspicious.

Reply ButtonReply

Gwynn

I tried it about a year ago and noticed nothing so I did not repurchase.

Jean

Yeah, I got the brightening serum booster from ipsy GBP. It’s nice enough but it hasn’t wowed me or done anything to convince me it’s worth it’s price tag. I’ll finish the bottle but won’t buy from the brand at these prices.

Jenn

I looked it up on their website and I just dont see what’s special about it. It’s just moisturizing. If it had some amazing anti aging properties, I would have jumped on it but I have plenty of just normal moisturizing face creams. I’ve heard alot of people say their products are way too over priced for what it is. Not that their bad but you can find things that perform the same for so much less money. I mean, I totally get paying for a $50 box to get a $200 product but what I hear is that 111skin is over priced and doesnt do anything that affordable brands cant do. So I wouldnt get over excited thinking its gonna be some amazing high end product, just in case it isn’t all its retail price makes it seem to be. But hopefully you love it.

Reply ButtonReply

Jessica

I don’t know I’ve heard a lot of good things about 111skin especially their eye cream.

Ktbear21

I haven’t tried this product, but have recieved 2 serums from them that were pretty awesome. I picked this gel this month and hope it’ll be as good as their other 2 products. That being said… I feel like the retail value is very overinflated. I got a vitamin C serum that supposedly is worth $120? It was great, but not worth 120 bucks when there are way cheaper products that do the same.

Reply ButtonReply

TXAggieinNC

I am giving it a whirl:) I hope it feels lux even if it’s performance is just OK.

Reply ButtonReply

Rei

Glad I got the moisturizer, because I was about to shop for one on Black Friday. Body shimmer seems fun as well..but I’m on highlight overload. I honestly wished they had a box that was just skincare because I don’t wear makeup as much as I did when I was in college. Love it when we get face washes too. What did everyone choose?

Reply ButtonReply

MzKayleeJames

Picked the too faced and like an idiot just realized the skin 111 was an option and I really wanted that one doh! Hope I still get it since I’m always rating Kai care high because that’s what I want. Ugh. Big dummy. I’d like the morphe palette too….please hear me Ipsy gods haha.

Reply ButtonReply

Not buying it (ha!)

Your Ipsy product, I guarantee you, is better quality and actually worth more as far as what someone would be willing to pay for it. I saw on Sephora that the TF body shimmer is highly rated and sought after and meanwhile 111 is a highly suspect sub box brand that has exorbitantly high prices that hardly anyone would be willing to pay for outside of their subscription. Many people are highly suspect of this brand for many fair reasons and looking at the ingredients list (although the ones in Ipsy seem to at times vary ingredient-wise and manufacturer-wise) there aren’t any impressive or anti-aging benefits in here at all. It basically has the ingredients-list of any common drugstore facial moisturizer. So I’d actually sigh if relief that you choose the Too Faced item before seeing the other options! At least the packaging on the body shimmer is really cute.

Wow. Chill.

Glad I skipped
