Bomibag October 2019 Review

There was no information card included in the package. I found more about the bag contents here.

Bomibag October 2019 Chamomile Mask

Nature Republic Real Nature Mask Sheet Chamomile - Retail Value $1.90

This is just a nice soothing mask to use in the evening. It doesn't have a strong scent (or, well, the scent that is there doesn't remind me of chamomile tea). This has a few antioxidants (from tea leaf extract as well as some other plants) and also moisturizers like sodium hyaluronate, which is a long polymer that holds on to water near the surface of the skin and is quite moisturizing.

Bomibag October 2019 Honey Mask

innisfree My Real Squeeze Mask EX Manuka Honey - Retail Value $0.97 (currently on sale for $0.68)

Honey is antibacterial and anti-inflammatory and may help with breakouts and redness. Some honey masks have an artificial honey scent but this one really doesn't. This has some soothing extracts like matricaria, and a ton of antioxidants from tea leaves, citrus, and a few other plant extracts. This is really a nice, all-around mask for moisture and other benefits and the price is right, right now, as well.

Bomibag October 2019 Balm

Heimish All Clean Balm - Buy 120 mL for $16.98

This is a solid cleansing oil that I am pretty sure is meant as the first step in a double cleanse. And it works well for that. The closest Western thing I can think of that it reminds me of is Noxzema cleanser. I tend to shy away from solid cleansing oils because I have had them clog up my sink before with long-term use, but this is a nice product if you're in the market. (I have no idea how big the sample is, I couldn't find a volume on the package.)

Bomibag October 2019 Tea Mask

Heimish Black Tea Mask Pack - Buy 110 mL for $22

We have received this product before in Bomibag, fairly recently, but I kind of don't mind when it is part of a set that makes up a whole skincare system. This is a gentle, wash-off mask. You could use it for some physical exfoliation as there are grains to it, which I just assumed were sugar, but now I don't think so from reading the ingredients list. This has a lot of antioxidants from black tea and fruit extracts.

Bomibag October 2019 White Foam

Heimish All Clean White Clay Foam (30 mL) - Buy 150 g for $12

I'm not sure how to calculate a value for this because the package had a volume in mL but the online listing has a weight in grams, and without knowing the density of the product, I can't convert the two. There were two foaming cleansers in here and this is the first. I used this as the second step of a double cleanse and it worked well for that.

Bomibag October 2019 Green Foam

Heimish pH 5.5 All Clean Green Foam (30 mL) - Buy 150 g for $12

This is the second foaming cleanser. I am awash in foaming cleansers last month as Bomibag sent two then, as well (only one was FULL SIZE). Now, I am not going to complain too much as this is a product type I use regularly and now I don't have to buy any for a long time. This is not actually green and it works as the second step of a double cleanse as well as just on its own. I'm not sure I'd be able to choose one of the two foaming cleansers over the other, but both work well.

Bomibag October 2019 Rose Cream

Heimish Bulgarian Rose Satin Cream (3 packets) - Buy 55 mL for $36

This is pretty thick and so I tend to prefer it for a nighttime moisturizer. It has rose water which has some toning benefits without being too harsh. It has some lactic acid so do be careful and wear a good SPF product if you're using this in the morning, especially. I found the scent to be pleasant but I do like rose scented items in general.

Bomibag October 2019 Benton

Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence (15 mL) - Estimated Value $5 (Buy 60 mL for $20)

As you might expect from the name, this has bee venom and snail secretion filtrate. Bee venom allegedly boosts collagen production. This also has niacinamide for brightening and adenosine, which is supposed to help with wrinkles but I don't really have many wrinkles so I can't speak to that. This is a clear, gel-like substance that absorbs well into the skin and wears pretty well under makeup (even if you have an oily T-zone like I do!). Snail secretion filtrate, of course, is very moisturizing and is still a trendy ingredient in K-beauty.

Bomibag October 2019 Hand Cream

Touch My Body Goat Milk Hand Cream (100 mL) - Retail Value $5.52 (on sale for $2.76)

This time of year is when my hands start to crack and bleed from the dry weather. So I was not sad to see a hand cream. (I am receiving a steady supply of subscription box hand creams so I never have to buy them.) This is not the thickest hand cream ever, but it lasts for at least a few hours while I sleep, which is pretty much the only time my hands aren't being used! Also, the brand name cracks me up. This can also be used on parts of the body other than the hands; it's suggested for heels, elbows, etc.

Verdict: I couldn't calculate a total value for the October Bomibag since some of the products didn't have sizes on them. However, there were a lot more products than usual, including a whole skincare kit with a full system including cleanser, mask, moisturizer, etc. Some of them were repeats but I'm OK with that since I got a chance to see how several products from the brand work together, plus everything was useful and something I'd likely use in my routine anyway. I also learned about a new brand (Touch My Body) that I will have to investigate further, as they make some bath and body products and I don't receive too many bath and body products in K-beauty subscriptions but I am curious about them.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you subscribe today? No, your first shipment will be November's. Also, there *may* be some variation in box contents based on what I have received versus what the Bomibag website says I should have received.

Value Breakdown: At $19.99 for this subscription, you’re paying about $2.22 per item (counting the three moisturizer foils as one item).
