October 2019 Target Beauty Box Review

This month’s box is all about transitioning your beauty bag from summer to fall.

This info card provides a short description of each item sampled and on the flip side a Target coupon good for $3 off a beauty purchase of $15 or more. This month I received an in-store coupon that also includes a promo code you can redeem online.

Moving on to Target Beauty Box October beauty picks!

Ardell Faux Mink Lashes - Retail Value $5.99

Equipped with an invisible band, this set of lashes is quite bold - much different than the wispy lashes I think Ardell is known for. This box does not come with any adhesive, but I think it is great that Target included a set of two lashes. I've never met a lash adhesive that was gentle enough for my sensitive skin, so, unfortunately, I'll have to pass these on.

Crest 3D White Brilliance Toothpaste, 0.85 oz - Estimated Value $1.35 (Buy 4.1 oz for $6.49)

A mini toothpaste is always a welcome find in a subscription box, especially from a great brand like Crest. This is Ryan's go-to toothpaste, and he can attest to the whitening and stain protection aspects. It has a refreshing mint flavor that leaves your mouth feeling squeaky clean after each use.

Vaseline Extremely Dry Skin Rescue, 1 fl oz - Retail Value $0.99

Just in time for dry skin season! During the fall I think I wash my hands about 30 times a day, which results in very sad, dry hands. This lotion came in the nick of time to soothe and prevent them from getting those pesky little cracks and dry cuticles. I am pleasantly surprised by how hydrating this fragrance-free lotion is, and I think I may have to pick up the full size with my $3 off coupon!

No7 Laboratories Line Correcting Booster Serum, 0.1 fl oz - Estimated Value $8.40 (Buy 0.5 oz for $41.99)

I always forget that No7 has a few higher ticketed products; this tiny sample is worth more than the cost of this box! It is a lightweight serum that feels smooth upon application. Some of No7's skincare tends to have a perfumey scent to it, so I was relieved to find out that this serum is fragrance-free! Since this is a booster serum, you can simply add this to your regular skincare to up the ante on any anti-aging or line-fighting.

L’Oreal Paris Colorista Hair Makeup in Hot Pink, packet - Estimated Value $0.23 (Buy 1 fl oz for $7.99)

L’Oreal Paris Colorista Hair Makeup in Raspberry, packet - Estimated Value $0.23 (Buy 1 fl oz for $6.99)

I am surprised, once again, that Target included two colors to try. The first color, Hot Pink, is not meant for brunettes, but the Raspberry shade worked pretty well in my hair. I love using color conditioners and temporary hair color to mix it up, so I was pretty excited to try this one out. I like the color it gave me and was surprised at how vibrant it showed up in my light/medium brown hair. The swatch in my hair never seemed to fully dry down, so I wouldn't say it is totally transfer-proof, but it washed right out of my hair in one wash.

Lumene Nordic Hydra 24 Hour Moisturizer, 0.17 fl oz - Estimated Value $2 (Buy 1.7 oz for $19.99)

Lumene is a new brand to me; Target is just so full of surprises! This moisturizer is free from parabens and "formaldehyde donors", but there is a pretty strong fragrance to it. It feels very hydrating on my skin, and it didn't take long at all for it to sink in. It is rich in amino acids and minerals to soften the skin, and its slow-release formula works throughout the day for all-day comfort.

"Swatches" from left to right: No7 serum, Vaseline lotion, Lumene moisturizer

Head & Shoulders Royal Oils Moisture Boost Shampoo, 3 fl oz - Estimated Value $1.55 (Buy 13.5 fl oz for $6.99)

Head & Shoulders Royal Oils Moisture Renewal Conditioner, 3 fl oz - Estimated Value $1.55 (Buy 13.5 fl oz for $6.99)

Ryan was stoked to see more Head & Shoulders in this month's Target box, especially this formula he's never tried before. These minis are the best size for travel, too! I found this blend to be super moisturizing, moisturizing enough to not even need the conditioner. I've never had an issue with dandruff, but I always love the fresh scent of Head & Shoulders.

Verdict: Target Beauty Box vastly improved from the box they sent out last month! I really liked everything sampled and will definitely be using everything up. This box is a great way to stock up on travel essentials, and I love seeing the different products and brands Target has to offer. The value of this box is $22.30, triple the $7 box cost (which includes free shipping).

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.

I really liked this box & bought two. The lashes are great as my teen uses them in dance performances. I like the moisturizer & serum. The toothpaste & shampoo/conditioner are perfect for travel & arrived right before we were heading away for the weekend.

This would of been a great box if I received all of the items. I love No.7 products and I was running out of toothpaste, so the timing was perfect. However, I received only one hair dye and it was the one for blondes. I’m a brunette, so that sux.

Any review of the men’s box? Christmas is on the way and they make great gifts. I would love to see the men’s box more frequently, men want to smell/look good.

I have tried several times to buy these boxes, but the sight won’t complete the transaction. I have always used PayPal and the problem isn’t on PayPal’s end. Anyone else having a similar problem?

Yes, I have problems using Paypal sometimes too. Make sure you select Paypal. Then you also have to click on the white and black/blue Paypal banner just below, before you click on red “review my order” on the bottom. I hope this helps. I skipped a few boxes because I couldn’t get Paypal to work either.

These boxes are just not good anymore. Last year they at least sent a full size hair makeup. I got a really pretty purple color.

I love this box so much I bought two more! I have seborrheic dermatitis so the Head and Shoulders is useful and I am a sucker for false lashes. I’m also excited to try the temporary hair color.

Not interesting at all. I know the value is there on paper, but not there when it comes to me personally using this. Fake eyelashes automatically makes it a no

I wasn’t interested in the fake eyelashes or the hair paint, but the remaining items made for a great box!

I don’t need anything in the box, but what a cute box! Their artists are doing a great job. I might buy it just for the box.
