Pet Treater Cat Pack October 2019 Review

I sometimes find the dog version of Pet Treater a little bit random but the cat version (maybe because it is smaller) is often a little more focused:

Pet Treater Cat October 2019 Sticker

There’s not a traditional information card with this subscription, but you get a couple of inserts including a humorous sticker. Sometimes there is also product literature although this month there wasn’t.

Pet Treater Cat October 2019 Treats

Vital Cat Freeze Dried Chicken Breast (1 oz) - Retail Value $6.99 (found here for $5.22)

This is what the bag says, freeze-dried chicken breast. Sneaky and Madison liked it but Monkey wouldn't touch it. That is not so unusual (plus I think Monkey was working on a hairball). Freeze-dried meat does show up in this box regularly, so keep that in mind. It's kind of hit or miss for my cats although this one does seem to be of high quality.

Pet Treater Cat October 2019 Toy

Petlinks Blinking Bat - Retail Value $9.75

This has a little tab you can pull out so the battery can make contact and then its stomach lights up blue, which my cats didn't seem to care about.  This is somewhat on the large side for a cat toy, perhaps more of a kicker/wrestler style? Madison liked the feathers and Angus seemed to be afraid of it.

Pet Treater Cat October 2019 Costume

Bat Wings

I am all about cat costumes. My cats are probably not. I got this on three of them (didn't try with Angus but he is obese and it probably wouldn't have fit him anyway and yes, we are working on his weight). You can see photos below. This didn't have any kind of label or tag.

Pet Treater Cat October 2019 Scratcher

Pet Zone Snag-ables Fox - Retail Value $7.50 (found here for $6.82)

I wasn't sure if this was a fox, cat, or bear, but the internet tells me it's a fox. You can see it with a few cats below for size context. The idea is you hang this or put it on the floor to keep your cat from scratching an area. It's kind of annoying on a door because it moves and interferes with the door closing, so I have it hanging from a banister and the cats have shown some interest in it there.

Gratuitous cat photos:

Pet Treater Cat October 2019 Madison 1

The wings didn't show up on Madison as much as I had hoped.

Verdict: I was unable to calculate a total value for the October 2019 Pet Treater Cat Pack since I had trouble finding some of the items online. There were four items, though, which makes the average price per item about $3.75. I thought the bat wings were fun (and better than the kerchiefs that have been sent in the past) and the overall variety of items was good, with items having higher average values (when values could be found) than usual.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, your first pack will ship immediately filled with the most popular fan favorites. Also, there may be some variation among boxes sent during the same month.

Value Breakdown: At $15 per month for this subscription, you are paying approximately $3.75 per item.

Oh, Sneaky. And poor Angus with his weight issues. I can relate, cat. I can relate. I’m interested to try this box to put the bat wings on Lindemann. He does ok as long as I don’t try to put things on his head. I don’t think he’d like the freeze-dried treats, though.

Hello! I just wanted to let you know that I started subscribing to this for my cat after reading your last few reviews. After having a little trouble with tracking and shipment, I finally received my box that I ordered on September 29th on October 17th. Honestly I don’t feel like the shipping time was terrible, I can live with it. Especially since it was my first box I understand it might take a little longer. I contacted customer service once because the tracking wasn’t updating and they got back to me quickly and were very nice!

I’ve been waiting on your review though because you always mention that your first box will be a mix of all of the box’s past favorites and not the current monthly box. That is also what they state on their website. I think this has changed though because I’ve been waiting to see what you received for October so I could confirm that I did in fact receive an October box and not a favorites sampler. I got everything in my box that you did. I assume they have changed how they do it but have not updated it on their site. I just wanted to let you know in case you want to update it on here. I will be contacting customer service just to make sure I am not sent two October boxes since my next one is set to ship October 28th.

My cat LOVED the freeze dried chicken treats! I thought everything was so cute! You have a much nicer cat than me however because when I tried to put the wings on mine he shot off like a cannon! 🙂 I thought this was a great month!

Hi Joy!

We are so glad you loved your Pet Treater cat pack and so sorry your tracking number didn’t immediately track! You definitely will not get another October pack – we try our best to pack as much of the theme as possible, but sometimes, when there’s an overwhelming number or onboarding customers, many past favorites are used to meet shipping deadlines. Anyone who signs up on the 21st or later will automatically get the theme of the following month and shipped on the 10th-12th – therefore delivery usually lands about a week after.

Please let us know if you have any questions!
[email protected], or DM us on Instagram/Facebook!

Enjoy!

Sneaky bit me when I put the wings on her. I didn’t try with Angus although he is too fat to wear them anyway (we are working with a nutritionist to get his weight down, it is probably a medication side effect). The secret with Madison and Monkey is that they are older (12 and maybe 13 or 14) and pretty mellow.
