Moms + Babes is a quarterly subscription service that caters to both moms and their kids with dedicated boxes for moms and infants, moms and toddlers, and just for moms. Each box is limited and contains $150+ in retail value.

This is a review of the Infant box for $53.10/month.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

About this Box for Moms

Moms + Babes Fall 2019 Review

Each box includes a note from the founders and a list of each item. This is my first time receiving the Moms + Babes box and I was a little confused by some things I found on the item list. To start, the beauty product One Drop Wonder from Limelight by Alcone is listed as "Limelife," which is consistent with what's displayed online but not on the product itself. That's a little confusing! But also it is listed twice: first under the Baby section, where it features a blurb about its anti-aging qualities, then again under the Mama section, but with no blurb. I definitely wouldn't recommend using this product on your baby! I also noticed another product from Limelight by Alcone listed in the Mama grouping—something called Eye Arise—but that product wasn't in my box. The good news is our team reached out to Moms + Babes and I was sent the missing product separately!

White House Foods Clear Applesauce Pouch, 3.2 oz - Estimated Value $1.50 (Buy a 4-pack for $5.99)

When my daughter was only a few months old, her cousin, who is almost exactly 1 year older than her, was sucking pouches down like nobody's business. I had heard from several parents of older babies and toddlers that it's one of the only ways they can get their kid to eat veggies. But, for whatever reason, Lorelai just isn't interested in them. I first tried when she was about 10 months old, then again each month-or-so after that, and she refuses to eat from them. So, alas, this first item in the Moms + Babes box ended up being enjoyed by mom!

Miamily Binkster - Retail Value $14.90

This pacifier clip has a pocket so you can tuck the paci in, and the pocket is lined with that crinkly-sounding stuff that babies love. Lorelai used to have a pacifier clipped to her all throughout the day, but now she only accepts it when she's going down for a nap or bedtime, and even then she only accepts it from papa. So, while she was really curious about the crinkly sound of this thing's pocket, she wanted nothing to do with having a pacifier clipped to her (as you can see from the last photo)!

This is the first of several items I thought would have been more useful for her if she were younger. While she is still such a baby in so many ways, when she turned 1, she changed a lot and no longer seems like an infant!

Jackson Reece Organic & Chemical Free Baby Wipes - Retail Value $3

No mom'll ever turn down baby wipes! While we use cloth wipes at home, we take disposable ones with us when we're on-the-go. Plus, nothing'll quite clean off a sticky face and hands like a disposable wipe. I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to try a new eco-friendly brand and I really like these ones. They're biodegradable and vegan, yay! They're gentle without being so soft that they don't do their job.

Baby Banana Mystical Dragon Infant Toothbrush - Retail Value $9.95

This was a fun one to receive. Lorelai has had a Baby Banana classic banana-shaped teether since birth and has reliably loved it. She was really intrigued by the dragon shape! On the day our Moms + Babes box arrived she carried it around with her all afternoon, and in this picture she's actually kissing it.

Hashtag Kids Blanket - Estimated Value $19 (Similar item found here)

The material of this organic cotton blanket feels really nice. It's a soft jersey knit. This blanket has sort of a swaddle vibe to it, so I initially thought it was another item that Lorelai is a bit old for, but then it hit me that even a swaddle can be used as a blanket for an older baby. I think my brain is still in summer mode.

I will say, though, that I don't love that the brand is printed on the corner, nor am I drawn to the sleepy star design printed largely in the center of it. After visiting the Hashtag Kids website, I'm wishing that we had received just a basic solid blanket. They also have cute astrology sign ones, though I recognize something that specific wouldn't make sense to send out in a subscription box.

Angie + Ash Teething Necklace - Retail Value $28 (Found on sale here for $16.99)

I think the concept of a teething necklace is a really clever one. I already have two, and one of them might even be Angie + Ash brand! This one has a unique silicone bead design to it, so it doesn't feel like a duplicate of something I already own.

FlorastorBaby Probiotic - Retail Value $19.10

I am a believer in using probiotics, and we gave them to our daughter (in drop form, dropped into a bottle or baby cereal) starting when she was about 5 months old, to help with severe reflux. It's hard to say for sure if it worked, but the reflux did improve. I added one of these powder pouches to her sippy cup, which happened to have almond milk in it on that particular morning, and she didn't seem to notice it. So that's good!

LimeLight by Alcone One Drop Wonder, 0.5 fl oz - Retail Value $86

This face serum came so thoughtfully packaged. I used this product in place of a light lotion after washing my face, and it was a nice experience. It didn't leave my face feeling oily, and it had a pleasant, gentle scent to it. This will be great to use come cooler, drier weather.

Keller Works Chillax Roll-On - Retail Value $6

This essential oil blend features lavender and cedarwood. It smells wonderful! It's calming, with a hint of uniqueness. With grapeseed oil as its base, it's safe for kids. I've used chamomile essential oil for my girl before, I just apply a little on my finger first, then rub it on the back of her neck or bottoms of her feet. You want to be careful not to apply it somewhere that they're likely to consume it!

Diabolo Dragon Fruit Plum French Soda, 16 fl oz - Estimated Value $2.36 (Buy a 12-pack case for $28.28)

I am totally into the lightly flavored sparkling water everyone seems to love these days, but it's rare that I treat myself to pop. I was pleased to find that this French soda didn't have too strong of a flavor, though 16 ounces of it was a little too much for me. I put what I couldn't finish in a mason jar in the fridge, but it didn't have the same fizz when I revisited it later. I enjoyed those first few sips, though!

Kopari Coconut Oil Deodorant - Retail Value $14

Finding a natural deodorant that excludes all the "bad stuff" but still works well is, like, the hero's journey of my generation. I have found one or two that I like but always welcome a new one to try. I have only good things to say about this coconut oil one! It goes on smooth and clear, smells subtle (in the way that coconut oil products do) but nice, and works. I didn't do any heavy-duty sweating to test the limits of it, but I was unaware of it throughout the day, which I would say is the goal. My husband also tried it and had the same feedback! I'd call that a win.

Not Your Mother's Part Time Air Dry Accelerator, 6 oz - Retail Value $7.99

I had never heard of an air dry accelerator before receiving this product, but it struck me as the perfect gift for a mom! I used to blow dry my hair just about every time I washed it, and now I air dry it just about every time. I didn't notice a significant difference in dry time, though I tried it on a very humid, rainy morning, which was asking a lot of a $7.99 hair product. It does smell amazing, though, so there's that!

Limelight by Alcone Eye Arise, 0.5 oz — Retail Value $84

Here is the product that was initially missing from my box and was sent after the fact. The process was very smooth! I'm glad I was able to get my hands on this product to try, partially because it retails $84 and that significantly ups the value of the box as a whole. The eye serum is very nice—it's light and dewy with a subtle, pleasant scent. Very hydrating!

Revele Tweezer + Extractor Duo

This exact tweezer/extractor duo doesn't seem to be available online anywhere. I have two sharp pairs of tweezers that I like, so I'll probably see if a friend needs an extra pair. This item doesn't scream "new moms need this!" to me, but maybe I'm missing something obvious!

Verdict: In the days since I received my first Moms + Babes box, I have found many of the items easily incorporated into my everyday—some more than others, the top two being the deodorant and wipes. A few of the mom items, like the hair air drying accelerator and tweezers, felt well-intentioned but not ultimately very useful to me. I was initially disappointed that I didn't have the chance to try the Eye Arise product that was listed on the items sheet but not included, but pleased with the product once it did arrive. Some of the baby items would have been great a few months ago but don't seem applicable to an older baby like my 13-month-old, which felt like a bit of a miss—they change so much in those first two years! But, there were enough products included in the box that we got several great items we love. Value-wise, the infant box is promised to include a $313 value. Using a combination of estimated and retail values, the items I received added up to $305.86, which was calculating using the full retail value of the teething necklace.

To Wrap Up

Can you still get this box if you order today? Yes, as of publication, you'll receive their Fall box.

Value Breakdown: With a cost of $53.10/quarter, you are paying approximately $4.08 for each of the 13 items in this box. With 14 products included, that breaks down to $3.79. That feels like a great value to me!
