LiveGlam MorpheMe Brush Club November 2019 Review

bride themed front of info card back of info card with brush info

The theme this month is "Say Yes to the Brushes" and I received 5 brushes.

Let's take a peek, shall we?

M707 3/4 Oval Foundation Brush (Synthetic) - Retail Value $6.00

Hmm, so the brush I received has yellow bristles, while the one on the Morphe site has brown. I am not too concerned, because the info card and promo materials all have these yellow bristles, but I thought I would mention it. This is the type of brush that is pretty standard in most collections because it allows a flawless application of foundation in tighter spaces. I also like to use brushes like this for concealer under my eyes. It soaks up a lot of my MAC Face & Body Foundation (I wear C1) and allows me to effortlessly brush it onto my face for a smooth finish.

M554 Under Eye Setting Brush (Natural) - Retail Value $10.00

I really like this brush! It is absolutely perfect for applying powder under my eyes and getting every single bit of this skin covered with powder without looking cakey. The dense bristles grab a lot of powder up, but are fluffy enough to where you could toss this brush into your on-the-go kit and get away with also using it for blush and highlighter in a pinch!

M322 Large Pointed Crease Brush (Natural) - Retail Value $3.00

As someone who is still not super great at blending eyeshadows, a crease brush like this is a god-send. It is the perfect size for applying color just to my crease, and with a few flicks, the shadow is beautifully and smoothly blended to perfection. These bristles are very dense but super soft, and the subtle tapered point is perfect for blending into the corner of your eye.

M160 1/8 Angle Liner Brush (Synthetic) - Retail Value $4.00

If I am going to use liner, I usually prefer a pot of gel liner (this is my fave!). I do sometimes use brushes like this with wet shadow for a much more subtle line. I decided to try it out above with a brownish taupe shade and it worked beautifully. This brush made a straight line very easy to accomplish and I was impressed by the crisp edges.

M143 Deluxe Soft Fan Brush (Natural) - Retail Value $8.00

This brush is striking just to look at. I love the cream bristles with the flash of black in the middle! Are those black bristles useful? No, but I love beauty for beauty's sake! You can use this brush for contouring or highlighting, but I used it to clean up the mess made from my other brushes. There was quite a bit of fallout under my eye from grabbing too much eyeshadow and this made quick work of brushing it away without ruining my look.

Verdict: MorpheMe Monthly Brush Club has become one of those subs I really look forward to reviewing because I make a point to try out each brush. It has really opened my eyes to how enjoyable it can be to use more than 2, regularly! Though some of them are often above my head, they are always fun to experiment with. This month included a couple of new favorites, namely the crease brush and that giant, beautiful fan! Overall, this month has a retail value of $31, which is $11 more than the $20 subscription cost.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.
