Some of the comments are ridiculous. Firstly these aren’t typical sized ’samples’. Perfume samples for example are 1-2ml, these are 9ml. As far as Sephora goes they rarely offer Jo Malone cologne as a ‘free gift’. It’s also one of their highest value freebies they give out. Devaluing a company because another offers one of their products as a VERY generous gift is a logical fallacy.
Those complaining about this being overpriced…do your homework. You obviously aren’t familiar with the line. Comparing any price to Ebay prices is simply nonsense. Of course you are going to find stuff cheaper on Ebay…that’s what Ebay is for.
As neither a celebrity or an Instagram influencer I appreciate the post and it is relevant to myself. Jo Malone is a luxury product but you hardly have to be a celebrity to be able to afford it. It’s not all about being wealthy, it’s about how you choose to allocate your money, regardless of your income. The purpose of luxury is it isn’t trying to include everyone. Bottom line is if you can’t afford it, you simply aren’t their target market.

Yes Lisa! 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
That’s why I felt no shame about getting my Diptyque calendar.
There is nothing wrong with splurging on something or someone (🤷🏿♀️) you want – and that should come without any judgement or snarky comments.
Tis the season to do whatever makes you feel good – just make sure you’re looking good and smelling good while doing it.

Although this may fall on deaf ears here with MSA readers (lol), I just thought I’d share that the Jo Malone calendar is back in stock on their site. 🙂

I have been wanting to try Jo Malone keep hearing how good the fragrances are. But this price is ridiculous and they are just samples right?

Luna
Yes, these are samples, but FWIW the perfumes last a really long time, and if you wanted to get the amount of samples in this calendar you’d have to spend far more than $450 to get them. Of course, you’d also have whatever items you purchased to get them as freebies, but if your goal was to only get all of these samples, then this might be the better deal.

I love Jo Malone but could never afford this. It smells so nice that I went up to a customer in a store and asked her what fragrance she was wearing and that was how I became hooked. I bought something off of her site and now I always get her emails. Once in awhile(maybe once a year) they have a spin the wheel and you get a free full size with purchase. It wasn’t in the scent I love but it was a $75.00 gift that I’ll wear.

I bet Diptyque’s calendar is looking really good right now 🤭🤭

My first thought when I saw this was “I don’t know who Jo Malone is.” My next thought after seeing the prices was “And I guess I never will.” 😉

No thanks, Jo Moola.
Go to a store like Sephora and just buy your favorite scent instead of signing up for a $450 potentially unhappy meal.

I love Jo Malone.. I try to get on sale everywhere I can. Between her and Diptyque, I’m good but can’t swing the advent calendar just the occasional product.

I would love a gift collection like this, but it is overpriced. I just bought a 3.4oz cologne from ebay for a lot less than retail. Again, I’d love to sample all the scents in the collection like this offers, but it’s a better deal to go to Nordstrom and try the scents then just buy your favourite!

MSA: Are you adding advent calendars to swap? I know there are so many so maybe it can be “luxury advent calendars” (like above $200), and then the mid-range ones in their own category? I would like to list some things but I don’t know how.

For that price they need to be all full size products, but maybe that’s just me… mini candles are a joke

Considering the price of Jo Malone products, I would DEFINITELY snatch this up in a heartbeat if they had 24 full size products in the calendar for only $450! It’d be at the very least a 75% discount. I’d take it! 😀

The price on some of these Advent calendars are ridiculous and this is a prime example. $500 with tax for some samples?

I love so many of the scents in the calendar, but the price is difficult during the holidays.

How perfect! I think I’ll get one of these for everyone on my list this year. Family, friends, coworkers. Oh and of course I can’t forget my hair dresser, mailwoman, or my son’s teacher. And at least one for myself of course. Perhaps even a backup….

Isn’t the 9 ml size the one you get for free from Sephora?

I think it’s with a $35 purchase. I’m always so tempted to make a purchase whenever I see they’re being offered as a gwp. 🙂 I think they’ve been offered as point perks too.
