Switch 2 Pure August 2019 Review

Switch 2 Pure doesn't include a detailed list of the contents each month, but it does include an info card about the subscription.

Innersense Hydrating Hair Masque, 7 ml. sample - Estimated Value $1.78 (Buy a 118 ml version for $30.00 here.)

This hair mask says it helps revitalize dry, coarse, and thirsty hair. My hair is none of these things, so I'll probably toss this in the donation bin for someone else to enjoy.

Pursoma Botanicals Bain de Pied Recovery Foot Mask, 2 oz. - Retail Value $12.00

This foot soak has a really unique and relaxing scent. I followed the directions and added the whole packet to a vessel of warm water that fit my feet. This soak contains French grey sea salt, seaweed, green algae, and essential oils from fennel seed, geranium, cypress, yarrow, juniper berry, and ginger root. Having read that, you can imagine that wonderful smell, right? After soaking for 20 minutes, I wrapped my damp feet in a towel for another 15 minutes so they could "sweat and rest"—the final step in the process. Without going into too much detail, my feet have not been looking their best after a summer of flip flops, sandals, and outdoor activities. While I normally would only soak my feet while getting a pedicure, this was actually quite nice and made my feet a bit more soft and pretty.

Switch 2 Pure Rose Konjac Sponge - Retail Value $10.00

I'm a big fan of konjac sponges and seem to get them pretty regularly in subscription boxes. If you're not familiar, these are plant-based gentle exfoliating sponges that come from the konjac root, which can be found in various parts of Asia. The sponge is porous and hard when dry, but once you soak it in water, it becomes bouncy and soft. I already have one in my shower, so this one will wait in the queue until I need to swap mine out. The best part about this product is that it's made from all-natural plant material, so it's totally biodegradable.

Kosmatology Botanical Bliss Lavender Vanilla Sugar Body Scrub, 9 oz. - Retail Value $19.00

If you like to scrub away at your skin in the shower as I do, then this is a great body scrub for you. It is all-natural and contains a simple blend of essential oils, sugar, and some lavender flowers. As with most scrubs, this product got a little messy in the shower, but it really exfoliated well and left a lot of hydrating oil behind. I happen to have quite a few scrubs on hand already, so I'll be passing this on to my sister-in-law who loves a good scrub.

Niu Body Refresh Eucalyptus + Mint Toning Mist, 2 oz. - Retail Value $16.00

I was introduced to Niu Body a while back via a different clean beauty subscription. I really liked it back then. These days, I've discovered other similar products I like more, but this mist is a solid product for the price point. The packaging is super cute, and I love the eucalyptus scent. My only qualm is that the spray 0n this nozzle is way too intense. I just wish it was a finer mist that was more gentle instead of a blast of product to my face.

Verdict: Switch 2 Pure promises five full-size products, but I only got four this month (plus a hair mask sample) with a total retail value $57.00. Seeing as though this box costs $57.00, you aren't really getting a deal—you're basically just paying retail for four mystery items. My sister-in-law will love the scrub, and the foot soak was nice, but it's not something I'd ever really buy myself. The konjac sponge will certainly get used, but it's nothing new to me. The toning mist is probably my favorite, although there are other brands I like more. Overall this box had a solid selection of products, but I just think the price is too high for what I received, which is a bummer.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, but subscribe before the September 13th to get that month as your first delivery.

From S2P:

We close subscription on the 13th of each month and ship out on the 14th. You can expect the arrival of your package around 4 business days (most often sooner).

Value Breakdown: At $57.00 for this box, you're paying the exact retail for each product in this box with no discount.
