Included this month is an info card with a list of all of the included products. It looks like this bag has a listed value of $98.00!

Limited-Edition Makeup Bag September 2019  - Retail Value $12.00

Pink and palms? What's not to love!

So Susan Cosmetics Light Odyssey in 'Amaranthine', 6 g - Retail Value $26.00

This chubby little stick is so cute! Though it is a cream stick, it is really on the dry side and felt very much like a powder when applied. It also buffed out well, even on top of my foundation, with both fingers or a brush. I love the rose gold + pink combo and that this serves as both a blush and a highlighter if you use it on your cheeks. It was also very pretty on my eyelids.

It reminds me a little of NARS 'Orgasm' but with much more gold.

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Cherry Pop Lip & Cheek Highlighting Cream in 'Cherry Gold', 4 ml - Retail Value $16.00

I usually don't love lip or cheek formulas. They tend to feel weird on my lips like a coating, but also too wet for my cheeks. Sadly, this product continues that trend in my experience. It felt like wearing paint on my lips and was just too much for my cheeks and make my pores really apparent. I also feel like the color is a little redundant when compared to the stick above which was such a superior formula.

This managed to somehow be both metallic and also matte. It is very interesting, though not for me.

Trifle Cosmetics Jelly Juice in 'Twinkle Berry', 7 ml - Retail Value $12.00

I. Love. This. Gloss. Obsessed! It is transparent, but also so over-the-top berry pink! It also has cute little shimmers and a delicious fruity smell. I freaking adore how this looks on my lips because it is deep enough to be perfect for fall, but still absolutely in the pink family. I am - admittedly - a gloss addict. But Megan, how many glosses could you possibly need? How many glosses does any normal, rational person need to own? ALL. OF. THEM.

Love at first swatch.

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Blush & Highlight Palette Orion - Retail Value $32.00

First things first: the layout of this palette gives me ... feelings. I am just not really sure what is going on here. This could have easily been a normal quad without these odd and uneven pockets of naked space. Confusion. Second, this would have really been a nice palette to include a mirror on. Loads of space for oddly arranged mirrors that might make the rest of the layout make more sense.

Moving on.

The colors here are really lovely. For different shades that can be used for everything from blush, to highlighter, to eyeshadow. Though two of the shades are a little too similar, I still dig it! That being said, this entire box has been basically the same exact color family in different formulas. I absolutely love rose gold products but I am feeling this assortment might be a little one-note.

Top to bottom: Warm Glow, Celestial Crust, Celestial Eclipse, and Warm Radiance.

Verdict: So Susan Color Curate has a value of $98.00 this month. That is pretty great for a $21 sub! Do I wish there had been some sort of shade variety this time? Yes, absolutely. Everything was essentially the same this month. Please don't get me wrong, the value is absolutely here for this box! But I need a wee bit more variety to feel really great about it. The saving grace for me was that totally loveable gloss. I am so pleased with it! I also loved the highlighter stick and palette (to an extent), though one of them would have totally covered that rose-gold base this month since they each are very versatile in terms of where you can use them on your face. I am curious to see what next month holds and really hope for a wider selection of colors.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

The layout of the palette bothered me also, lol! I get the space theme now though. I also love glosses and that one sounds amazing! Great review!😊

Megan, your suggestion of small, oddly spaced mirrors made me wonder if there is enough clearance between the palette and it’s lid to maybe glue on some little mirror pieces one can get at the craft store? Do you think that would work, or would it result in the palette lid being too lifted? If the latter is more likely, in your opinion, do you think a small magnetic piece & a small steel dot, carefully placed, could solve that issue? Or small Velcro pieces? Or, if nothing else, perhaps bits of ribbon could be attached to the bottom side and the inside of the lid and then tied together to keep the palette closed?
It’s really pure logistical curiosity for me because, unless it starts raining cash, I doubt I’ll be able to get this box/bag, but the ideas just popped into my head while perusing the review. I thought they might prove useful for you and some of the MSA followers, if they seem reasonably feasible.
I loved the colors, and kind of like that the color scheme all pretty well works together. It’s nice to see some things that aren’t so wildly disparate that trying to make a look of them together won’t make someone look like Pennywise. 🤡

It is a great idea but I am not sure it would close. Def enough space though. Maybe since it is cardboard some could be cut in?

I can’t wait to get this month’s bag 🙂 While the colors are a bit redundant, I do like them and will have a lot of fun playing with them. I just don’t see myself giving any of these to my daughter’s this month!

I am trying to cut my spending and reduce my subscriptions, but So Susan is too much fun for me.

OK, your description of the palette layout was too funny! And I needed a laugh today. It does seem totally pointless, all the space.
