PinkSeoul Mask August 2019 Review

Prior to purchasing a subscription, PinkSeoul will ask you several customization questions. Some products are more appropriate/recommended for a particular skin type so be sure to figure out what your skin type is.

Pink Seoul Mask August info

Here is the info sheet for this month’s box. This month was a unique one in that our sheet masks were all from previous boxes and we received a bonus full-size item.

Etude House Soon Jung Dry Mask Capsules, 5 pc – Retail Value $6

Remember those towels we would get when we were younger that was compressed into a small shape and magically turned into a towel when it met water? These capsules are the same idea, only they are sheet masks that you soak with your toner or essence of choice! I get more sheet masks than I can count each month, but I am still ecstatic to have these—I can customize each one specifically to what my skin needs at that moment. These do need a couple of rounds of liquid to fully absorb and be wet, so I just poured toner in, waited until it soaked up, then poured in more.

Pink Seoul Mask August toner

Berrisom Essential Boosting Toner in Witch Hazel - Retail Value $22

This toner is perfect for using with the dry sheet masks. It is balancing for combination or acne-prone skin thanks to the witch hazel, but I didn't find it too drying. I usually reach for more hydrating toners, but this is perfect for the hot and humid weather I am currently living in.

Pink Seoul Mask August zinc

A’Pieu Cicative Zinc Sheet Mask – Retail Value $2

A’Pieu is one of my favorite K-Beauty brands, and I think their sheet masks are some of the best out there in terms of performance and cost. This mask was thin and fit my face well, and since it was very saturated with essence I was able to wear it for a long time (my favorite way to do it).

Pink Seoul Mask August aloe

From Nature Aloe Vera Soothing Mask – Listed Value $3

This mask was thin, fit my face well, and lived up to its soothing name in terms of calming down some angry pimples I currently have. Aloe is a great ingredient for both dry skin and sensitive skin (I have both), and this mask delivered.

Pink Seoul Mask August slice

G9 Skin Slice Sheet Mask in Peach – Retail Value $3

Slice sheet masks will most likely fall into the love it or hate it category. You’ll love how cute and fun they are, and that you can use them on targeted spots. Or you’ll hate that it can be awkward to use every slice at once, and these dry out quicker than a traditional sheet mask. I am on team love because they’re fun and each slice actually looks and smells like a peach, and I LOVE that they come in a zippered pouch (most slice masks don’t) so they won't dry out. I like using these under a full sheet mask as a DIY-layering mask, and this paired well with the innisfree kiwi mask for that purpose.

Pink Seoul Mask August milk

G9 Skin Milk Bomb Mask in Chocolate– Retail Value $4

I am always happy to see a milk mask! This smells like chocolate milk and is made with milk protein to nourish and soothe your skin.

Pink Seoul Mask August tea tree

Some By Mi Tea Tree Calming Glow Luminous Ampoule Mask – Retail Value $4

This sheet mask was impressive- it is one of the thinnest masks I have ever used, and it hugged every single curve of my face. It definitely was a very wet mask that dripped down to my neck a bit, but it didn’t leave my skin sticky once I took it off. After further looking, it seems that this mask was so wet because each sheet mask has a full ampoule bottle inside! This is made with tea tree, calendula, and Centella to calm skin, and those ingredients always make my skin happy. I have been dealing with a lot of breakouts lately, and this really felt like a treat for my stressed skin.

Pink Seoul Mask August dr. Jart

Dr. Jart+ Dermask Micro Jet Solution Mask – Retail Value $9

Yasssss, Dr. Jart+! I love Dr. Jart+, and my skin loves him too (his cicapair line has completely changed the redness in my skin). This mask is specifically for oily, acne-prone skin, and while my skin is dry I still thought this was an effective treatment for my acne that was soothing and nourishing. The thin microfiber material was comfortable to wear, and I was able to comfortably wear it for about thirty minutes.

Pink Seoul Mask August package

Package I Love Myself Makeup Boosting Mask – Retail Value $3

I am always happy to see the cute packaging of a Package sheet mask. This is made with hyaluronic acid and AHAs to prep your skin before you apply your makeup, and I loved that this mask didn’t drip anywhere. This is also scentless, so it should work for those who are sensitive to scents!

Pink Seoul Mask August missha

Missha Airy Sheet Mask in Aloe - Retail Value $3

This is another close-fitting sheet mask that was nourishing and soothing to my skin thanks to the star ingredient, aloe.

Pink Seoul Mask August Innisfree

innisfree It's Real Squeeze Kiwi Mask - Retail Value $2

Assuming you aren't buying in bulk, I firmly believe this sheet mask line from innisfree is one of the best sheet masks you can get for the price. The material is definitely thicker compared to some more expensive masks, but my skin is always more hydrated and happy after I take one of these off, regardless of the alcohol in the ingredients.

Pink Seoul Mask August gold

Berrisom Face Wrapping Mask in Collagen Solution – Listed Value $4

These wrapping masks have foil on one side and essence on the other, and the foil is especially metallic- no complaints here. This is a two-part mask so I was able to get a good fit, and it was hydrating and nourishing without leaving me sticky.

The Verdict: PinkSeoul is a mask subscription I have realized that I can constantly rely on to provide a good assortment of sheet masks with a variety of textures and ingredients. This box is on the pricier end for sheet masks, but the value is consistently about $20 (or more) above the cost of the box, and I enjoyed seeing repeats this month since almost all of the masks were ones I loved using the first time around. I calculated a total value of $65 for the items in this month’s box, which I think is fair.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive the October box.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

I’m confused about the layering with slice masks…doesn’t it keep the top mask from getting to the parts under the slices? Or is that the point? Sorry, I’m not very well-versed on mask etiquette.

The Cicative Zinc is my all time favorite sheet mask! I’m bummed I can’t still get this curation. Great review!
