Kinder Beauty Box Natural Beauty September 2019 Review
Each box comes with an info card that has each product pictured with a short description and listed value, so you know what each product is worth.
Plantioxidants Power Seed Menagerie Cream, 1.7 oz - Retail Value $100
Gotta love when there is a hero skincare item in an already great box. This moisturizer is luxe! It is made from cold-pressed superfood seeds and a blend of multivitamins as well as phytochemicals to hydrate, replenish and revitalize your skin's all-around health (all while anti-aging!). Two pumps covered my face and neck; this lotion felt so smoothing and plumping, and I actually really enjoyed the herbal fragrance.
Sandstone Highlighter in Gold, 0.21 oz - Retail Value $24 (€ 22,00)
Creamy with just the right amount of shimmer, this highlighter is a gorgeous champagne dream. I don't usually fall for highlights that lean gold, but this pale gilded beauty looks great, even on my cool, pale complexion. The texture of this powder feels more like a cream, and it blends over even the most texturized surfaces. I find the best way to apply this is to tap it on with my fingers.
INIKA Certified Organic Lip Serum, 0.17 fl oz - Retail Value $27
I am always looking for lip treatments to soothe and plump up my sad, dry lips, and this serum came just in time to prepare for dry skin season. With 91% organic ingredients, this serum uses a range of oils and shea butter to pamper your lips with antioxidants and nutrients. The texture is somewhat oily but feels very comfortable on the lips, and I love the nourishing effects this has had just from using it twice today. Very promising!
NCLA Nail Wraps - Retail Value $10
NCLA is a fantastic nail brand I've grown to love through subscription boxes. I am also a very big fan of nail appliques. Mix the two together? Unfortunately, not a match for me! These are much thicker than the ones that I am used to, and they are definitely not as pliable. The directions say to apply a clear base coat first, then choose the correct size and apply after your base coat dries. Stretch the wrap to fit your nail and use the heat/pressure of your fingertips to press any creases out, then file downward to cut off the excess. When you're even you just add another layer of clear polish, and you're good to go!
Sorry for the graphic after pic; I went ham on the clear polish, but this manicure didn't last a normal workday for me. These wraps took about 40 minutes to put on and less than an hour to start peeling off. I love the art collaboration between Kinder Beauty and NCLA, but the product just didn't perform for me.
JJ Young Pore Mud Sheet Mask - Retail Value $3.99
I've never seen a mud sheet mask before—very interesting! The actual mask was sandwiched between two plastic sheets, and it was a feat to peel both sides off without either ripping the sheet mask or getting the product everywhere. After a minor struggle, I managed to get both of the cold and slimy halves onto my face.
I couldn't look at the phone because I was scaring myself with this mask on, haha! It looks like something from Texas Chainsaw Massacre! The rosehip extracts control sebum while also hydrating your skin and left my face feeling soft, not stripped after I rinsed the remaining product off. I really enjoyed the texture of this creepy mask, and I would definitely try one of their other variations.
Verdict: I love September's Kinder Beauty Box! The products they chose this month really felt like they catered to me and my skin's needs, plus I enjoyed testing out such interesting products. Using retail values, September's box has a total value of $165 which is an excellent value for a $24 box.
