Goddess Provisions "Air Element" September 2019 Review

Here's the info card with the theme and product list for the month. The theme is "Air Element."

Let's dive in!

Matr Boomie Fairtrade Wind Chime  - Listed Value $24.00

I really like items like this because you can hang them outside or use them inside as decor. We have a large wrap around porch and a few large trees, so I like to hang chimes and bells all around, especially in the summer and fall when I am outside lounging. This handmade brass bell has the most charming sound. I actually decided to put this around my entryway doorknob as a welcoming sound to guests and for a smile when I come home after a long day.

Good Medicine Beauty Lab Electric Sky Universal Elixir, 0.5 fl oz - Estimated Value $34.00 (Buy a full-size 1 fl oz for $68.00)

I have mixed feelings about this elixir because the smell is SO incredibly strong! It does die down into something lovely when you rub it in, but I found application rough due to the fragrance. Although this has tons of skin-loving ingredients, I can't imagine using it on my face. I tend to love strong scents so you know if I can't hang, it is potent! I plan on diluting it down with another carrier oil to see if that helps.

Hedge Witch Apothecary Wild is the Wind Tea, 1 oz - Retail Value $8.00

I was initially hesitant to try this tea because it has anise, that dark licorice-like flavor that people either hate or love. I don't generally enjoy it at all. Despite this reservation, the other ingredients won me over. Lavender, red clover, linden, lemon verbena? Sounds heavenly. Luckily, the anise is very demure in this brew, and just gives those lighter elements a little edge. I drank this without cream or sugar and it was delightful.

Ibu Ayurveda Vata Body Oil, 60 ml - Estimated Value $16.02 (Buy a full-size 100 ml for $26.70)

This oil I liked much better than the elixir above. A calming and toasty warm blend of chamomile, frankincense, and lavender, with a deep undercurrent of cardamom, this is the sort of oil you put on by candlelight on chilly nights after a bath. The oil seems to warm my skin up and leave it so soft, and the whole vibe was pure comfort. Like most body oils, this stuff also works wonders for frizz and flyaways on dry hair! Just rub a few drops between your palms and finger comb through.

Element Botanicals Air Aromatherapy Essential Oil Blend - Listed Value $9.00

I was recently gifted a very fancy oil diffuser and since I already have a large one at home, I have kept this one in my office. I get LOADS of essential oils and blends in boxes so it seemed natural. Because I get to play with them at work now, I always get excited for a new blend. I liked this one immediately! It smells like a spa and the main notes are neroli and cardamom, a perfect juxtaposition of summer and fall, hot and cold. It also has a bitter green element that I can't get enough of!

Mystical Blossoms Breathe Inhaler Essential Oils Inhaler - Retail Value $7.00

I think the only real inhaler I have ever used like this was once for a cold and it had some sort of pure menthol inside. I didn't enjoy that! This, on the other hand, is quite nice! It is so much milder than that medicinal one and has a soft blend of eucalyptus, peppermint, evergreen needles, and lemons. It was really nice for a midday pick-me-up when I was starting to get those dreaded 3 pm sleepies, and I think this might also be nice for when I have a headache or sinus pressure.

Smoky Quartz Crystal - Listed Value $11.00

Smoky quartz is the sexy sister of rose quartz if I do say so myself. This 2-inch long piece is a great example of the sultry smoky greys and browns that define this colorway. This is a really nice little specimen.

The Verdict: This was a really great Goddess Provisions box. I loved nearly every item, but especially the body oil and handmade bell chime. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the tea! With chilly weather fast approaching, my tea stash needs new blends, so this came at a perfect time. I also thought the inhaler was a genius addition to an "air" themed box, and the smoky quartz was lovely. The elixir was the only thing I didn't adore, but I plan on trying again later.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Heavens, what a smelly box. 🙁 I’ve been subscribing for a year, and this is my least favorite box ever.
I don’t drink tea, ever, so that will be gifted or up for swap. The last tea they sent me is still sitting in my swap box waiting for someone to request it.
I appreciate the wind chime, but don’t find it attractive. I am so curious since 2 people have said it sounds good, but I might just gift it and never get to hear it for myself.
The elixir: nope. Nuh-uh. Not even going to try. Straight to the swap pile. How could anyone stand that smell on their face?
Air Aromatherapy: another big “no” from me.
I do like the inhaler quite well. I am afraid to try the Vata body oil. I wish I could get a whiff of it without having to destroy the plastic bag.

I really want to sub a box like this…but most of these “natural” and “holistic” boxes include items with hemp. I am very allergic to the hemp plant including CBD oil. That stuff is everwhere! It is a bummer about the fragrance on the one item and it also had hemp. A non-fragant, non-hemp box would be great!

This box was great as usual, but that Electric Sky Elixir was too potent for even me. I love strong scents, but I went so far as to put the bottle in one of my guest rooms until I work up the nerve to dilute it with something. Geez!

It was so strong on my face I actually threw up from it. I’ve washed my face 3x now and used a scented moisturizer and it’s still all I can smell. Been nauseated all night. Everything else in the box was great though!

I think this is the best G P box I’ve seen to date. I think I might need to grab it.

I have pretty bad allergies and it bumbs me out that so much of this box (like most other spiritual boxes) was fragranced. I truly wish that boxes of this sort would offer a non-fragranced (or at least low-fragrance) option. I opened my box, grabbed the crystal and chime and have the rest in the garage right now. It was just too overpowering.

I really wish they had allergy conscious options for boxes that have so many oils and herbs. I love seeing the reviews for this and would love to sub but I’m allergic to lavender and it seems like a majority of their teas and oils have lavender in them, even opening some of these boxes would probably make me itchy and sneezy. Which sucks because I really want to sub to a box like this

Great review! Agree with all of it except I haven’t tried the wind chime yet, and now I’m excited to. This is such a lovely box.
