FaceTory Lux Plus Box Fall 2019 Review

FaceTory Lux Plus Box includes a truly amazing booklet full of info about each product. This is a great one to keep around for detailed instructions on how to use, WHEN to use and each products key ingredients. The back has a reminder to post shelfies of how you use their mini-fridge and while using the hashtags #facetoryfridge #myfacetory, and #justkeepglowing to win $100 worth of FaceTory goodies.

FaceTory Perfectly You Steaming Hair Mask - Retail Value $10.00

How lovely is the package for this hair mask?! It's just too darn cute. This one is interesting since it's a treatment for your hair and not your skin. I didn't realize FaceTory was in the hair game. This is their own brand and comes as a cap with the hair treatment inside. After shampooing and wringing out excess water, simply unfold the cap, slide it over your scalp, and fasten the sticker to keep it snuggled on. The directions had me massage my hair through the cap to sort of rub the cream into my hair. The only downside was that since most of the product was in the top of the cap, I felt like the back of my hair near my neck was slightly neglected. After 15 minutes, I removed the cap and hopped back into the shower to rinse with warm water. It left my hair pretty easy to comb while wet and I allowed it to just air-dry since I'm trying to blowdry less. My hair felt extremely soft and silky but the treatment didn't give me any body which it sorely needs. It doesn't promise to do so, but it's just something I noticed. Overall, I think this did bring a great deal of moisture to my hair and made it easy to manage.

Rated Green Real Mary Cold Brew Rosemary Purifying Scalp Scaler, 6.76 oz. - Retail Value $20.00

The next product is another one for the hair. This "scalp scaler" is meant to exfoliate and purify your scalp to control hair oil production and help minimize dandruff. It is a thick cream that smells DIVINE to me since I love rosemary and it is to be used after shampooing, in lieu of a conditioner. I was expecting a grittier texture closer to my beloved Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub with Sea Salt, but there was nothing but a smooth cream to slide through my hair. After drying, my hair felt incredibly soft and clean and smelled delightful. Will definitely be reaching for this one more often in my hair care rotation.

Nacific Real Floral Cherry Blossom Toner, 6.08 oz. - Retail Value $24.00

I've been using more unique spray toners lately instead of ones I need to put onto a cotton pad, but this one is so gorgeous that I was excited to get into the habit of using it. It has actual cherry blossom petals floating in it and every once in a while you'll get one when adding it to a cotton pad. There is something really soothing about wiping this over a clean face that feels like a really necessary step to balance the skin. It has a delicate scent and leaves my face feeling extra clean before adding my serums or oils. Plus- it looks fantastic in my bathroom cabinet.

Like Dew Green Signal Dew Oil, 1.01 oz. - Retail Value $35.00

I am loving this dew oil! It is very reminiscent of another recent K-Beauty oil I received from Commleaf. The packaging and soft frosted glass bottle make this look elegant and the oil absorbs really quickly while leaving behind a pleasing sweet yet grassy scent and incredibly soft skin.

PureHeals by Nature Village Propolia 80 Sleeping Pack, 3.38 oz.- Retail Value $55.00

This sleeping mask from PureHeals has the coolest jelly-like texture. It jiggles around in the jar and has a cloudy honey color. I'm happy to report that it comes with a tiny plastic spatula to retrieve the gelatinous substance from the jar and slather a light layer onto your skin with. A little goes quite a long way and it doesn't take long for this to dry enough before going to bed. As you sleep, your skin absorbs the aloe, propolis extract (from bees), and niacinamide which together heal, balance, brighten, and hydrate. Once I wake up in the morning, there isn't anything left so rinsing is not needed. My skin feels plumper and a bit more bouncy.

Yadah Ba-Fu Red Energy Eye Cream, 1.01 oz. - Retail Value $38.00

I want to believe in eye creams! This one is packed with 8 ingredients to help reduce signs of aging and dark circles, and calm the delicate skin around the eye. This cream is concentrated and opaque with very little noticeable fragrance. The tiniest dollop will be enough to pat around your "orbital bone" with the delicate touch of your ring finger. I have yet to notice a difference in my deeply dark circles, but this product feels incredibly soothing and luxurious.

23 Years Old Hyaltox Petit Mask - Retail Value $5.00

Before I saw the spoilers of this box, I was poking around FaceTory's website and was enchanted by this holographic package. Plus, it's called 23 Years Old which is what I'd like to go back to, please. Lucky for me, it was included in this season's Lux Plus box so I was able to try it out! Full of serum, this mask was a little big but clung to my face well. I resisted the urge to rinse after removing and allowed the serum to fully sink in and stop feeling sticky which gave me cherub-like cheeks.

Feelxo Firming Camellia Mask - Retail Value $4.50

This is by far one of the softest masks I've ever tried. It almost doesn't even feel like fibers. The serum is on the thin side, but it feels so nice on and the sheet is thin enough to perfectly conform to my face. The smell of this one is neither here nor there for me. Slightly floral but still has a sanitizer-scent to it. The key-ingredients here are yogurt for good bacteria and camellia japonica flower extract, which is rich in antioxidants. After removing, the serum on this one absorbed a bit more quickly than others and left me with really soft hydrated skin that felt soothing.

Osèque True Noble Soil Layering Mask - Retail Value $4.50

OMG this is the best smelling mask of all time! The desert on the package gave me pause but once I ripped it open, I was hit with intoxicating pine-like scents. It has mistletoe in it- could that be the source? At any rate- this is a layering mask with triple hyaluronic acid and something called noble soil (aka Loess Extract) which is "a rich dust-like soil consisting of silt and clay that draws away impurities, minimizes pores and controls oil production". Sounds cool to me! This mask is double-layered with a white and sand-colored mask which I placed against my skin. After 15 minutes I removed it to reveal a lot of serum which I massaged in and tried to just let sink in without washing off since it had a sticky sort of feeling while wet. Not completely absorbed, but pressed for time in the morning, I told myself that the slight tackiness leftover would make for a good makeup primer. I don't think I was wrong. I'd buy this mask again simply based on how wonderful it smelled which relaxed me greatly.

Leaders Himalayan Camellia Pore Minimizing Mask - Retail Value $7.00

At first, I thought the mask was a bit stiff until I realized it had a backing that was hard to identify. Once I peeled it off, the mask still wasn't as soft as a usual cotton one, so it didn't form as nicely as I'd like but it had some seriously thick serum on it that I knew would plump up my skin. After 20 minutes, I removed the mask and after about an hour it was fully absorbed leaving my face ridiculously glowy and soft. Wowsers- this is a fantastic sheet mask.

Verdict: I am officially in love with my first FaceTory Lux Plus Box! All of the items seem high quality and I liked that there was a mix of sheet masks, different types of skincare, haircare, and even something for my eyes. Their presentation is just fantastic with the detailed booklet and super cute box (which I'm having a hard time throwing away). FaceTory Lux Plus is everything I'd want from a K-Beauty skincare subscription and the fact it's only quarterly allows me to dive into each product without feeling overwhelmed. I received 10 full-size items that have a total retail value of $203 for just $49.95. Two enthusiastic thumbs up! Can't wait 'til the Winter one!

Anyone have thoughts on or experience with quarterly vs. annual for this sub? My FFF sub was annual but winter is my last box before I’ll have to renew, so I’m debating on dropping it and/or picking up a new sub and this one seems great.

I recently received this box and couldn’t believe how fast it arrived after placing my order. The products are lovely!

This will be my 2nd box. I have been waiting forever it seems (I get billed on oct 4th, I changed it from the 18th) I’m confused on the shipping/billing dates. I’m going to contact them and see if I’m on a late billing/shipping date because of when I subscribed maybe? I don’t want to miss out on anything because I absolutely love everything I got in the first box. In my opinion this is the best Korean skin care box and I don’t feel like im paying too much because of the results of all the products.

Well…. I hopped right on and ordered my box. I received the last season box at the last minute and one of the products that I really wanted was sold out. Although Facetory did add a replacement item. I had my eye set on the item that was replaced. I am not chancing it this time. In addition, you get 7 free masks.

Excellent review, Marne!
Your review became the last push for me to subscribe 😁
A littlle OOT, Marne, why don’t you change your profile picture?
You had many beautiful pictures in the reviews that it’s such a waste that it’s not put on display.

Haha, thanks for the suggestion, Callmeinge. I’ve thought about changing it several times but just keep forgetting to do it. Old haircuts/colors die hard, I guess? 😉

This is going to be my second box and I really like it. I like that there is no make up and all skin care.
They have not charged me yet I was wondering when they do billing and shipping.

This box really good to get. I like that it’s quarterly too. So I can get this when I don’t get the GBU.

The code is not working ‘LUCKY7’

Hmmm- it worked for me. It did say that the code is one-time use only and can only be used for a customer’s first box. Could that be it?

Thanks! I had to add the code in the checkout page.

I plan to get this box but maybe next month or November. I am still finishing up stuff from the last one and I loved it so much! Plus, they always have sales and great promo codes like the one above.

Your whole comment took the words right out of my mouth. 🙂 I’ve been eyeing this box, especially since I’ve been wanting to sub to a k-beauty box again for a while now but just haven’t seen one that includes things I want to try. This one is definitely at the top of my list, and I love that it’s a quarterly box too! Great products in this one (that toner & face oil are calling me), but I think I’ll hold out to see what’s in the next one.

Great review Marne!

Hey, Luna! I think this is going to be one of my replacements for my Ipsy Plus and possibly my regular Ipsy. I already left Boxycharm and Luxe so I have plenty of room for it. My October Ipsy bags were beyond disastrous. Literally nothing but products marked “Rarely”, consistently rated poorly, and even some repeats and opted-out products. They’ve gotten worse and worse over the last few months but this one took the cake. My bags couldn’t possibly have been any worse or any less “personalized/customized.” And the two good products I got to pick don’t justify the cost when every other item is a total dud. Plus with this Facetory subscription I know I’ll get the skincare I want and need. Ipsy loaded me up with almost all makeup yet again. I saw my reveals and immediately cancelled. I have to admit I did it with a heavy heart and near-tearful sadness. They often have such great products. Including this month, mostly in the regular/travel size bag products. Such new products and brands. But for some reason they refuse to send them or even sell them as add-ons to this 5+ years faithful customer.

That’s two major sub box breakups in under three months for me. Both the last of my longest running subscriptions. Oh well…on to better things I hope.

carrie

Since I started the whole 10 step method I’ve wanted more Korean skin care products but I don’t want any make-up. This looks like exactly like what I’ve been wanting. And yes, quarterly is definitely a plus so I can have time to really try them out.

MissPippa

Great review. I am so excited I can still get this box.
