Enchanted Crystal of the Month: Coconut Geodes

First, you'll see a greeting from Adam of Enchanted Crystal. I love these personal notes as they explain behind the scenes details.

Also included was a sheet explaining the process of selecting the crystals included in the subscription as well as info on packaging.

Our specimens this month are coconut geodes! I love geodes!

Let's unwrap!

Coconut Geode Pieces

FYI: These specimens are both about 2.5 inches long.

Did you ever buy those random geodes when you were a kid? Usually, they could be found at the local children's or history museum, and they were always a relatively inexpensive thrill until you got them home and your mom tried to bust it open and shards flew everywhere and then nothing was inside. Womp womp. This experience is much upgraded! The Enchanted Crystal team did all the hard work of cracking these babies open and selected very pretty ones to send along this month. I wish you could see how sparkly these actually are in the photos, but they need to be seen in person to be truly appreciated. The crystals inside are the most delightful dove grey color with ice clear shards shooting upwards. Hailing from Mexico, these little treasures form around pockets of gas, which is the ultimate irony.

Enchanted Crystal always sends bonus crystals or minerals in a small bag as well.

Good to Know: These are generally between 1 - 1.5 inches long.

Madagascar Quartz

More "fairy teeth" for my quartz collection! These little shards are becoming pretty regular in my subscription, though they are different types of quartz each time, which keeps it interesting.

Orange Calcite

How autumnal is this orange? This stone has a matte finish which feels great to hold.

Feldspar

Feldspar has some of the most interesting patterns and this ivory colored piece is no exception. The lines catch the light when you examine it and give it a little glow!

Verdict: Enchanted Crystal, as usual, was really fun. I love geodes and they sent two pieces of a really beautiful one. That dove grey is one of my favorite colors! I also loved examining my bonus minerals and the little bitty quartz pieces! If you are a mineral collector, this subscription is an easy buy, and I look forward to the surprises inside each and every month.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I’ve seen these ones for less than a dollar at gem fairs. $42 is an outrageous price for this box.

Hey Tina! This is indeed the $16 sub. It is a mystery what will arrive each month and they always include info that explains more about the specimens included each month. For $16, it is easily one of my fave monthly treats and I really look forward to it. 🙂

Yea this is the $16 box. The $42 one comes with 4-6 large stones, a bag of small stones and a crystal grid. I do think that adding a couple more of the geode halves would have been a good thing though. The last time I ordered these I the break your own- I got 8 for $18. 2 were solid, the rest were super white crystal formations and tan exterior, which are very common. A reddish hue with a pale gray interior is more uncommon, so a little more valuable. But, the main point is that Megan enjoys them, right?

I think this is the $16 subscription… it’s only one crystal per month versus the variety for $42.
