Detox Box Review - September 2019

The Detox Box
3.8 overall rating

The Detox Box is a green beauty subscription box from The Detox Market that costs $55/month. You'll usually receive 2-3 products from a featured brand each month that follows their strict ingredient standards and helps you discover non-toxic ways to continue your beauty routine. What I love about this subscription is that I can try popular and undiscovered brands alike at a really good value!

The Detox Box September 2019 Review feat. Naturopathica

There are always two info cards that accompany the products in each Detox Box. One introduces the featured brand (Naturopathica) that has a Q+A with the founder, Barbara Close. The second goes more in-depth about the three products included this month.

Naturopathica Oat Cleansing Facial Polish, 2 oz. - Listed Value $28.00

This facial polish is sooo gentle! Although I love scrubbing a whole layer of skin off of my face, it's nice to use a cleanser that doubles as a soft exfoliator as well. This opaque cream has tiny beads that don't feel harsh at all while massaging into my face. It has a pleasant smell that also feels quite moisturizing and smells like a delicate lotion. This cleanser left me feeling fresh but hydrated.

Naturopathica Carrot Seed Soothing Facial Oil, 1 oz. - Retail Value $58.00

After cleansing, I turned to this facial oil containing carrot root extract. The box claims that it hydrates and protects and I have to agree with the hydration at the very least. The oil is quite thin so once you dole out one pump, be quick to get it onto your fingertips to press into your face. It smells completely amazing though I can't put a finger on which delicious ingredient it coming through most. Ylang ylang, perhaps? Even one pump is more than enough, so you can use the extra on your body like elbows and legs. They also suggest adding it to moisturizers as an added boost. I allowed this to seep in a few minutes before adding the next product from the box. The results were... divine.

Naturopathica Calendula Essential Hydrating Cream, 1.7 oz. - Retail Value $59.00

I can always get behind a pot full of facial cream and this one looks and feels luxurious! It reminds me a little of Ursa Major's Golden Hour Recovery Cream color and texture or even FlowerSpice's Soothe and Repair Daily Moisturizer in richness. It has a nice thick consistency that feels slightly oily at first before it seeps in deep leaving glowing soft skin behind. Among ingredients like aloe leaf juice, sunflower oil, rose flower water, and calendula flower extract, this also has neroli and lavender flower oil that make this calming and soothing. If I had one word to describe this cream, it'd be RICH. This will be amazing for dry winter skin especially! Can't wait to use this even more once it gets cooler out.

Verdict: I am SO IMPRESSED with this month's Detox Box! I found all three products to be super luxurious with fantastic ingredients and results. I think I'm most excited about the hydrating cream, but all of them made my face feel plump with moisture! The total retail value on these products is $145 which is a fantastic value for this $55 box.

I’ve been considering Detox Box for awhile now and finally subscribed for 3 months. My box shipped the same day, Tuesday. I received it 2 days later with continuous shipping updates! The products are exactly as you described. Usually, I unbox and wait until nighttime to use new things, but I went straight for it in the middle of the afternoon. My skin feels ahhhh-mazing!
