Now, on to the items!

Too Faced Natural Face Palette - Retail Value $44.00

I absolutely LOVE this palette. It is tuned for a more natural look, which suits my general makeup vibes just fine. It has two highlighters, two blushes, and two bronzer "veils". Though the first bronzer (Sunny Honey) made me look more like I had a 5 o'clock shadow than a glow, I did find that the second (Tropic Like It's Hot) was totally doable on my fair skin as a bronzer, as long as I was light-handed with my application. My favorite shade on this would easily be Pink Sand. It is this gorgeous dirty pink that works well on my cheeks or my lids. The highlighters are really great too, one leans more champagne and the other more pink, and both are as subtle or as bold as you want them to be! Pink Wink is just an over-the-top, fun, true sweet pink that was so pretty on the apples of my cheeks. All of these shades smell like some sort of delicious dessert and the palette itself is really heavy and high quality.

Top to bottom: Starlight, Pink Wink, Sunny Honey, Satin Sheets, Pink Sand, and Tropic Like It's Hot

Dr. Brandt Hydro Biotic Recovery Sleeping Mask, 1.7 oz - Retail Value $52.00

I usually really like Dr. Brandt products and this is no exception. My skin is really angry right now because I have been using Tretinoin at night and my skin is in that rebellious dry phase. This sleep mask arrived at a perfect time! I used this calming mask as my very last skincare step before bed. I found that it really calmed my skin down and reduced the redness that always occurs when I use super strong anti-aging products. I woke up with calm and soft skin, and noticed it was significantly less red all day. It is worth noting that the normal full size of this comes in a tub, while ours arrived in a tube. The amount of product is the same and I actually prefer a tube any day over a tub!

Moda Brushes 5 Piece Brush Kit - Listed Value $27.95

I don't love these Moda brushes, but this is likely because I prefer my minimal black Morphe brushes. I actually just received a 6 piece eye set in my September MorpheMe subscription that I really like! These don't quite compare for me, but they are still a solid set of brushes. Included is every sort of brush you would need for a complete eye look: a shader, crease, detail, smudge, and a liner.

Hank & Henry Beauty Liquid Liner in Blickity Black, 0.55 ml - Retail Value $17.00

I think I must have received 3-4 black eyeliner pens in the last week. Though I am feeling a little liner fatigue, I have never tried anything from Hank & Henry, so I was very curious. The packaging is really nice and I like the brush style tip. My only complaint is that this isn't as black as I would expect. It was actually really demure. Aside from that, that staying power was good and I liked the satiny finish.

It could absolutely be darker!

Billion Dollar Brows The Microblade Effect Brow Pen, 0.7 ml -  Retail Value $18.00

This is the second time I have gotten a brow pen with this sort of tip and while I think the idea is genius, the execution leaves much to be desired. Let me explain! This works amazing for the first few strokes. Then the brush tip stops marking because it becomes covered in your foundation or powder. No makeup? If you use a cream or moisturizer, this will also be an issue. I usually get one really great looking brow and then it stops working by the second. It is such a bummer because it really does look great! Those little tips make for very convincing hairs. But for now, I find myself sticking to my pencil or spoolie brow products.

If only it worked consistently!

Verdict: My BoxyCharm box has an overall value of around $158.95, which is awesome for a $21 box. My two favorite items (the palette and the sleep mask) were worth a whopping $96 alone, making this box more than worth that $21 subscription cost. The brushes were a nice addition, though they can't replace the ones already in my collection. I was less impressed with the liner and brow pen, but I am still very happy overall with this box. I loved the assortment of brands and I thought there was a ton of product variety in here! BoxyCharm continues to be one of the best values out there and I am always so excited to open it each month.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! These boxes do sell out though, so if you love it, hurry.

Value Breakdown: At $21.00 for this box, here is approximately what you are paying per product:

  • Too Faced Natural Face Palette $5.81
  • Dr. Brandt Sleeping Mask $6.87
  • Moda Brush Set $3.69
  • Hank & Henry Eye Liner $2.25
  • Billion Dollar Brows Pen $2.38

Alternatively, the average cost of each of the 5 items is $4.20.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Ladies, we must remember that we are getting full sized high end products for only $21. If you do not like anything in your box, then simply put it aside for gifts. Christmas is around the corner and these products make excellent stocking stuffers, gifts for your son’s girlfriends, neighbors, etc. Smile and enjoy what you love. I don’t like to hear of anyone being upset. God love you.

I love the eyeliner, it worked better for me. Favorite eyeliner I had ever tried. Bought another on the add ons. At first I wanted this variation that you received, but I got the Violet Voss palette, which looked different in pictures, was thinking it was so cool toned, so I was disappointed when I received it, but turned out to be an amazing palette, shades are much darker than pictured. I got the Laura Geller highlighter as well, BEAUTIFUL. I really wanted to eyebrow pen, but I didn’t like how it turned out in your review.
I love your reviews, keep up the great work.

I feel like I got the worst combo esp for my profile. I am a boring neutral lover who likes brow products- I got eyeliner, violet palette of funky colors, Laura geller highlighter, the brushes, and the sleep mask (which I wanted). Really bummed I didn’t get the brow item or a neutral palette. Canceled boxy since our profiles don’t seem to matter

I got the tarte palatte and was so confused. In my profile I am listed as deep like why was I sent a palatte that would ablsolutely not work on me. the lighter shades are to light to set under my eyes and the darkest shade could be used as a face powder but I already received the Becca powder and the Ciate in another box and do not need a huge pretty palette that has no use for me. they are all ashy and wouldn’t even work as shadows. Oddly I cannot add comments but getting this tainted my whole exp esp since I paid for the luxe.

I received my box today with the Violet Voss palette which I have to admit is very beautiful. Now I have not tried it yet but the colors do look a lot better than what I’ve seen online. I also received the Dr Brandt, h&h eyeliner, the brushes and brow product in dark. My box was .7
7x4x2.

I got the Violet Voss palette as well. In pictures the colors look so light was afraid it wouldnt look good on my tan skin. Im glad they were much darker than pictured. They need to get a better picture because based on the picture alone I wouldnt buy it at all. Now that I have tried it I would repurchase

I got the dark eyebrow pen and I have red hair😕not sure what to do with that one. I actually like the Hank and Henry I usually prefer gel liners.
VV I tried it but I don’t know it’s not my favorite, verdicts still out I only used it once. I like the brushes and I’m not sure about the mask I think its making me break out, I’m going to give it a few days and try it again since my skin can be hormonal.

Did anyone get the too faced palette that would like to make a trade??

Which box is 0.7 lbs 0.32 kg and 3x2x2

Did anyone get these dimensions and what did you get ? Please and thank you 😁

Love your palette. Not as jazzed about my Tarte palette, but no matter, my BoxyLuxe box this month hit it out of the park. My box was packed with cool stuff — full-size Sunday Riley water cream, Stilla lipstick in a color I can actually use, a curling wand, and the infused water bottle I requested — and lots of other great stuff! Thank you Boxy. I owe you a good review after posting past complaints. My box was 17L. 😃😃😃

Great box this month. But I’ll pass again. I’ll check next month’s spoilers later this month. I need a subscription for weightloss. I’m kinda not into makeup as much.

Annika

Oh I’d love any of these variations. I’d find a use for all of the pallets. I’m trying to resist becoming a new subscriber but may just have to cave. Living through you all vicariously is no longer working lol 🙂

How do you know when BoxyCharm and BoxyLuxe has shipped? Do they send out an email or any tracking?

Tamra

They will usually send an email with the tracking info.

I got my box for free and I got the Too Faced Palette as well. It’s ok but not anything special.

Yes I got the same stuff… violet voss and MAC lipstick..I would never use those colors. I was very disappointed with this box!

Stephanie Holt

Me too!! This box turned out to be so disappointing when I recieved it today. I was really hoping for a face palette. The violet vos palette is a major dud for me. Im hoping i can swap it out

Reply ButtonReply

Dot

It’s gonna be super hard seems majority of people got VV I saw only a few face palettes hardly any ;/ what a shame tisk tisk boxy , 85%VV

Why even do my profile ? They don’t follow it .. I’m better off knowing I’ll be let down as usual luck of the drawer , or your a PR

Dot

Me too :/ and I told them you didn’t even follow profile basically CS .. said oh well it’s a diamond in the rough

Yeah okay for years it seems in the rough you don’t follow profile or reviews lol a joke answer

They don’t even read what you write

I got the Violet Voss Pallet. I didn’t think I would like it, but I love it!!! Love Dr. Brandt also. For $21 it is an Awesome value

Reply ButtonReply

Leslie

Got the VV palette, colors too bright for me. Will trade for either the Too Faced or Tarte palletes. Also got the MAC lipstick, which is not bright orange as it looked in pictures. More like a light peachy pink on me and the shine was welcomed about so many drying matte lippies.

Reply ButtonReply

Megan K.

I really wanted that MAC lipstick! Maybe in my BoxyLuxe?

Reply ButtonReply

Leslie

Megan, hopefully you get MAC lipstick in your Boxyluxe. I think you will like it given your light skin tone and inclination toward natural makeup looks. The Too Face pallete and the MAC lipstick should have been a intuitive combination for Boxycharm. Not the VV bright eyeshadows (unwearable at any age for me) combined with the natural, subdued MAC everyday lipstick. So wanted that Too Faced Natural pallete.

Tamra

Me too and it’s really frustrating to me. PR boxes are free and here we are paying for one or even multiple to try to get the one thing I think we should’ve had a choice of. I’m tired of the items that we want go to the PR boxes. I’m so disappointed w boxyluxe this month I’m canceling my subscription. Not worth it no more

Reply ButtonReply

rembol

I totally agree. I just canceled as well after receiving the VV Pallete. So frustrating seeing all of the influencers receive the Too Faced Pallete and all of the subscribers receiving VV.

Am2cents

After 2.5 years of subscribing I can say for a fact I might ONCE received the mid-range value (I actually didn’t like the item and wanted the lower value item…the one time!) boxes all the other times it’s been the lowest value. I wish they would alternate so every subscriber has a chance to feel that “Oh WOW, I am so lucky to get this box” instead of frustration and anger. Personally I didn’t care for the TF palette and actually wanted the VV palette but, I think it was last month when they had a serum — I really wanted that but didn’t get it. Or if they don’t want to alternate or make the boxes random, then don’t make the value difference so noticeable. We a paid the same money, shouldn’t we all get the same value?

Lois

I got the Tarte Pallete. Would you be interested in swapping. Also got the Stila in Shimmering Petunia if you are interested. Both are in untouched, unboxed condition.

Reply ButtonReply

tammy g.

i cancelled…I told them i’m getting to much eyeshadows…they don’t care..they didn’t even care I cancelled…

Reply ButtonReply

Blah

THIS is why this box is becoming frustrating. There is only so much makeup you can get. The thing is, this is why they are branching out into hair balms and hair tools and gunk and spongelleas and WATERBOTTLES…that’s the issue….most people want this box for MAKEUP and there is only so much makeup you can put into a box. I dont mind a random high end skincare here and there, but THIS vibe right here is why boxy is changing and a lot dont like it.

There are so many subs out there, NONE with all makeup now, and that’s sad. I’d rather get 12 eyeshadow pallettes and try different formulas and brands etc then to boxy to turn into fab fit fun, or some other box that is already put there…there are skin care boxes, and all kinds of things, but now none all makeup.

Reply ButtonReply

Beth

That’s why I cancelled. I like makeup, though rarely wear eye shadow. I got so many eye shadow palettes it was crazy.

Reply ButtonReply

Joyce

I haven’t gotten my box. Should I be worried? Its my first boxyluxe box I have only had boxycharm in the past.

Is it lost in the mail?

Reply ButtonReply

SquirrelyGirl

No. People are just starting to receive them. I used to get mine around the 24th of the month but I must be on a new shipping schedule because I get mine right around the 10th now. They ship in batches so just hold on a little longer and you should get it.

Christina

Really hoping to get that palette. It’s gorgeous!

I received the same box. I love the Too Faced palette, but am I the only one who thought it smelled floral and not dessertish? Haha

I don’t like the floral scent, really any scented make up. But I absolutely loved the pallete

Reply ButtonReply

LB

I posted below that mine (from Ulta) does not smell like dessert at all too! Thought I might be crazy…

Reply ButtonReply

Merlisha

Nope, not crazy!
Mine doesn’t smell like dessert either! I was so lost when people were saying theirs smelled sweet because mine definitely does not lol

devan

I had box number 15. I received the Violent Voss Essentials palette, Dr. Brandt Mask, Laura Gellar highlighter, MAC Lipstick, and Moda Brushes.

Can you have 2 boxy subscriptions…can you get the regular box and luxe or is it one per household?

I have two under separate emails. I’m hoping one of them comes with the too faced palette and one the violet voss. Fingers crossed!

Megan right now you can get 40% off everything but bundles at Hank & Henry. The alter ego eye kits are amazing and the new highlighters are awesome too!

I was hoping for a too faced product but as always I end up with something I could never use. I told myself last month that I was going to unsubscribe from Boxycharm but just figured I’d give it one more chance when I saw all the great options popping out like Daisy’s.
But of course I was given the Violet Boss which are all colors I would never put on my eyes. They are not an everyday go to look. I was very disappointed. Thank you Boxycharm for reminding me that if I’m not up on the totem pole that I do not matter. Idk how many times I’ve received crap compared to what other subscribers were given. Completely over it.
