Bomibag August 2019 Review
There was no information card included in the package. I found more about the bag contents here, though.
I am honestly not sure why they bothered including this. Yes, it is cute, but maybe one of the items fits in here and the rest don’t.
Atopalm Soothing Gel Lotion (20 mL) – Estimated Value $4.15 (Buy 120 mL for $24.90, found here for $19.92)
I don’t know if it is just my skin type or condition or what, but this is suggested as a nighttime moisturizer or even a sleeping pack but on me, my skin just soaked it up. I actually used it in the morning and it didn’t interfere with my makeup at all.
Keep Cool and Soothe Fixence Mist (60 mL) – Retail Value $8.80 (found here for $6.16)
This looked familiar and, as it turns out, we received it in December of 2018. Granted, that was a long time ago and my sample from then is long gone. I am still not on board with the “spraying things in your face” trend but this works well enough as a toner. (Really it is multifunctional because it is also supposed to be an essence.) Just be sure to shake it up first because this separates into two layers if it sits for awhile.
A’Pieu Real Big Yogurt One Bottle Sheet Mask, Apple – Retail Value $2
You’ll usually get one, and sometimes two, sheet masks in this subscription. I’m glad I found the box information online because I never would’ve guessed the name of this. There was very little English on the package. Anyway, I don’t need instructions for a standard sheet mask. This has yogurt, which is a source of vitamins, proteins, and probiotics, and it definitely smelled like apple when I opened the package. This one was moisturizing and did not irritate my skin or eyes.
Pyunkang Yul Mist Toner (100 mL) – Retail Value $12.90 (found here for $10.32)
This brand shows up a lot in Bomibag but I generally like the products. Thankfully, this one is in a spray bottle instead of having the top these samples typically have (which is nearly impossible to get product out of). It is a little weird to get two face spray products in one box. This is supposed to be cooling and moisturizing (and it does have sodium hyaluronate, which holds on to water near the surface of the skin and may help minimize the appearance of fine lines). I thought it was a decent toner, actually, but I sprayed it on a cotton pad first before applying it to my face.
Keep Cool and Soothe Water Phyto Green Shower Cleansing Water (100 mL) – Estimated Value $4.58 (Buy 500 mL for $22.90, found here for $18.32
I had to look this one up before I used it because I really had no idea what it was, what with “shower cleansing water” in the name. After reading about it, I decided it is kind of like a micellar water and used it that way. It was really good at removing traces of mascara left over after cleansing. It also has a lot of ingredients reminiscent of sheet mask serums so if you ever find yourself in possession of one of those little compressed tablets that expand to sheet masks but need serums, this would be good to hydrate it.
Verdict: I calculated a total value of $32.43 for the August Bomibag. That’s not the highest value I’ve seen for this subscription, but it’s definitely over the month-to-month cost of the package. I think the Phyto Green Shower Cleansing Water was very effective and, although I thought it was somewhat odd to receive two spray bottles in one box, they are both useful products for me.
