My 1st & 2nd choice for curated boxes were sold out within hours of them being available. Very disappointing. I’ll have to be ready to pick sooner next month.

If I sign up now would I get Sept or October as my first box? I really only want October

SquirrelyGirl

Never mind. I figured it out from a past review

Ok I need just the box itself…

I’m having such a hard time making a decision! I have curly hair and am interested curly hair products but the amount of hair products I already have could last 2 years. I like good genes but only like 3 of the products in the curated box so I could choose that or just the good genes and hope for more products I like. I love the dr lipp sweet potato tint but I do have like 6 more balms to use. But I do like 5 out of 6 in the curated box that has that product. So there’s 4 choices I’m picking between- the hair kit, good genes sample choice, good genes curated, or dr lipp curated. I can’t even figure this out and have to make a choice tomorrow. First world problems lol

If you plan to get the All Made Up box , see that you order it by name. It is listed as Box 4 on MSA but as Box 3 on the Birchbox website.

I noticed the difference in the box numbers too! I knew I wanted the Ingredient Conscious box, which is box #3 above, but when I made my sample selection pick I noticed it was box #4. After making my selection, I second guessed myself and went back to my account to make sure I chose the correct box. Fortunately, I did, but I also noticed that Birchbox gave the option to change your pick too which was nice to see…. just in case. 🙂

Wow. First time in three months there is a curation I’m actually interested in.

I don’t know what else they could do to offer more choice? They even let you turn your purchase price to points so you can buy ANYTHING you want from their store. If you are burned out on samples, unsubscribe and use up your stash. I get it- I took some time off from beauty boxes for that reason. These are solid brands overall. P.S. Bring your extras to girls night or book club or put em in the ladies room at work. You will be SO POPULAR!

Great suggestions!

After all these years (and one break) I’m really enjoying BB. Some same companies but usually different products. I think the deal I got was Black Friday, so I’m excited to try the stuff each month. Box #2 with a retinol, keihl’s & a lippie (cuz where do they all go?)

Omg Good Genes again?! Cancelled!

Mary

I am canceling my subscription also. I have been a loyal member for 4 years and my boxes have been getting cr@@py. I did not receive any of the above curated boxes for October 2019. I receivd only 3 of the items and duplicate items from prior boxes. Please note u will receive duplicate items. Not worth it

I got the hair must in my Ipsy & I love it. Directions say to use it on dry hair, but I find it more subtle & effective (on my fine, dry-ish hair) to use on towel-dried hair just after a leave-in cream to lock in the moisture.

FYI I got the Dr. Lipp in an Ipsy bag, and I was not impressed at all. It had no color that I could see, even when swatched on my wrist (and I’m very fair). I also found it quite drying.

I have not liked any of the several Dr. Lipp products I’ve gotten from BB either. My favorite lip products are Fresh Sugar and any from the Margot Elena box, just for reference. Not a fan of the Laneige lip mask either.

Reply ButtonReply

Dea

Agree. The Dr. Lipp balm I got was sticky and unpleasant. Trashed.

Laura

Anyone know the exact shade of the lipstick?

Reply ButtonReply

Lori

The box and the video are SUPER cute–I wish more sub boxes would embrace Halloween. Sadly, these are the same old samples.

Jazzy

Still not impressed! Glad I canceled same samples month after months and year after years! The only new thing I see is the juicy tube (really an old item but new for their section). Birchbox (in my opinion) is like the Sephora Play Box it’s has too many repeats but can be great for new beginners to the subscription world! After a couple of months/years you’re on it bigger and better!

I agree! Birchbox was my first subscription box and but I cancelled it a couple of years ago after moving on to other subscriptions. 4 months ago I was snared back in with a 6-month subscription deal that included a very spectacular curated box for free. The curated box was wonderful but yes, same old samples in the monthly boxes. They must have a very special relationship with Dr. Lipp! I’ve got 2 more months to go and will not be renewing. 2 out of the 4 months I redeemed for points, and now what I was saving points for (Ursa Major Golden Hour Recovery Cream) is no longer available in their shop. This month I’ll probably get the curls kit if it’s available, but really I have hair products I already like (Aveda Be Curly and EVOLVh).

Alice

Birchbox was my first subscription. Lately, I’ve been having some customer service issues with shop orders which is very disappointing. I see many repeats in these samples. This may finally be my catalyst to cancel.

Luna

I love the box design! I’m definitely going with box #3. I love that it has a perfume I’ve never tried before, but the major selling point is the St. Jane oil. I’ve been wanting to try it since it came out. I’ll admit, its beautiful packaging is what got me at first. 🙂 I’ll gift the hair mist, but everything else I’ll use.

Liz

I think I will either go with Box 4, or the curls kit. A lot of the products in it are not just for curly hair, and sometimes I do like to use mousse and sprays to emphasize my waves, so am hoping the curl products can do that.

Reply ButtonReply

Dea

I guess box 2. Seems the least unappealing to me. 🙂

Jeniginger

It says The Sunday Riley good genes is 1oz so I wonder if that’s right cuz at 1oz I see it listed at $105!

Reply ButtonReply

Nina

It’s definitely not. They’ve done that before with the Amike dry shampoo before too. They’ll list what the full size is instead of the sample size you’ll be getting. Glad I cancelled, their “attempt” to improve the box to justify the price increase is a big fail.

Reply ButtonReply

Emma

Birchbox often pictures a full size product even though they’re only sending a sample size.

Reply ButtonReply

Lexy

I doubt it, I have several of those little sample tubes, they are usually 0.17 oz if I remember correctly.

Reply ButtonReply

Jackie

Where does it say that?

Reply ButtonReply

Tiffany

I’m exited that it’s the second month with a totally ingredient conscious curation. If this continues. I hope it continues!

Reply ButtonReply

Alice

That’s my choice, too.

Reply ButtonReply

Tiffany

**i might just renew when my annual is up

Valerie M

I love this box design! Is the lipstick queen full size?

Reply ButtonReply

Jackie

The lipstick queen dating game we got in August was full size. It might tell us if they release a preview video, but I would assume it is, it sure looks like.

Reply ButtonReply

Jackie

Looks like it doesn’t say in the video 🙁

Tiffany

I don’t specifically know about this one, but the one I got a few months back was not full size.

Reply ButtonReply

Tiffany

Mornin’ Sunshine was the small size.

Melly

I am living for this months box design!!! So good! Best one in YEARS!
