Summer 2019 RosePost Box Review

This box always feels so luxurious to open! I knew from spoilers most of what was going to be in here, but I still enjoyed the unboxing process quite a bit:

Rose Post Fall 2019 - Booklet Frontside Top Rose Post Fall 2019 - Booklet Backside TopRose Post Fall 2019 - Information Card Frontside Top Rose Post Fall 2019 - Information Card Backside Top

There was a full-color information card with more details about the products and brands included in the box. I thought it was quite informative. It’s actually pretty handy, too, in that it has web addresses for easy reorders (and accurate pricing information). There were also some promotional cards from some of the brands in the box.

Rose Post Fall 2019 - Neroli Rose Aroma Bliss Fragrance by Emanate Essentials Top Rose Post Fall 2019 - Neroli Rose Aroma Bliss Fragrance by Emanate Essentials Front Rose Post Fall 2019 - Neroli Rose Aroma Bliss Fragrance by Emanate Essentials Uncapped Top

Neroli Rose Aroma Bliss Fragrance by Emanate Essentials – Estimated Value $19.50

This fragrance isn’t available for purchase but a lot of other ones are so I’ve linked to and used the value from those. This is pretty to look at, isn’t it? Neroli flowers are orange blossoms (from bitter orange) and so this is overall rather floral but maybe with a slight hint of citrus. Although I’m not usually super into floral fragrances, this one was nice and relaxing for me. It only lasted a few hours, though, but I guess that is common with oil-based fragrances (or at least it has been my experience). However, it is packaged in a convenient rollerball bottle for easy reapplication.

Rose Post Fall 2019 - Rose Lip Polish by Modern Skyn Alchemy Front Rose Post Fall 2019 - Rose Lip Polish by Modern Skyn Alchemy Opened Top

Rose Lip Polish by Modern Skyn Alchemy, 1 oz – Retail Value $12

This is a sugar scrub that is colored slightly with beet powder and the only preservative is tocopheryl acetate (i.e., vitamin E, which is also moisturizing). I have done something to my lips this past week that made them super rough (maybe a mask serum? or a new cleanser I tried?) and I’ve been gently using this for a few days now to try to get them back to a better state. I also like to use lip scrubs to remove the last vestiges of Korean lip stains (that makeup remover won’t get).

Rose Post Fall 2019 - Bouquet Luxe Bath + Soak Top

Bouquet Luxe Bath + Soak by Emanate Essentials – Listed Value $15

This product is also not available for purchase online (as far as I can tell) so I’m using the value from the information card. (I find that RosePost Box information card values are accurate when it comes to things you *can* buy, so I feel OK doing this.) Anyway, I never have time to take full baths, so I dumped this out into a small Rubbermaid container and shook it up to mix and I’ve been putting it in disposable paper tea bags and using it in my heated foot bath at night. (The tea bags are so I don’t have to clean flower parts out of the foot bath.) I am getting multiple uses out of it that way and it really is quite relaxing.

Rose Post Fall 2019 - Rose Hand Scrub by La Bloom Beauty Front Rose Post Fall 2019 - Rose Hand Scrub by La Bloom Beauty Opened Top

Rose Hand Scrub by La Bloom Beauty – Retail Value $22

The backs of my hands are not looking too bad these days, but I have some serious calluses developing from weightlifting on the other side, so I’ve been using this on my palms. The calluses aren’t gone yet, but I think I can maybe see a little bit of a difference? At any rate, this is a full-sized jar so there is enough to use for awhile. This is pretty gentle so I think it would work for less serious smoothing, as well.

Rose Post Fall 2019 - Shea Butter Soap Loofah in Rose by Modern Skyn Alchemy Top Rose Post Fall 2019 - Shea Butter Soap Loofah in Rose by Modern Skyn Alchemy Opened Top

Shea Butter Soap Loofah in Rose by Modern Skyn Alchemy – Retail Value $10

This has a loofah inside but it’s not super noticeable in the photo or after the first use. I’ll keep at it, though. This smells really nice so I know I’ll be using it a lot (even though I have three other bar soaps in my shower right now…). There are several other scents of this I’m interested in now so I may have to buy a few.

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $78.50 for the Summer 2019 RosePost Box. This is always a fun unboxing experience for me, from the packaging and presentation on down to actually trying the products. These items were all new to me (the items from this box typically are, though). I sensed some lack of enthusiasm from MSA readers on the spoiler post comments, but I thought this was actually a nice box. I don’t get any bath and body subscriptions at the moment, so I may receive one bath and body item per month in another box, or perhaps one fragrance item, so this subscription is really my only chance to be surprised by these types of items. I figured out a way to use the bath soak for multiple uses, which extends the value a bit, and the hand and lip scrub were particularly timely for me and some issues I am having (but probably not things I would’ve purchased on my own).

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, Summer 2019 boxes are still available!

Value Breakdown: At $51 for this box, you are paying approximately the following per item:

  • Bath soak $9.75
  • Hand scrub $14.29
  • Soap loofah $6.50

I have just received my mystery box (surprisingly enough, MSA10 worked). Turned out to be this summer box. I love every single item in it and it smells so good. Very happy I made this purchase. They even included a handwritten note. Very sweet of them.

P.S. Plus a Rosa Pretiosa dry oil. Amazing value!

I think I did the same thing to my top lip. It is really rough and feels so dry. I did use a K-beauty lip mask a few days before for the 1st time and I have been trying to figure out where I got this from. Do you know why that might be Ragan? Are some serums not supposed to go on the lips? Thanks.

Hi Luna! (lol!) I also recently did something to my bottom lip that’s been making it super sensitive and it almost feels stingy and really hot when I apply products to it. Actually, I think I know what I did… last week I was trying to rub some dry skin away, but I think I went to town on my lips a little too much and I ended up breaking skin. It’s only on the inner half of my lower lip though, and it’s almost back to normal (a week later!) but while it was healing it almost looked like and felt like a sunburn with peeling skin that would HURT if I tried to rub it off (even gently) and the only thing I could wear during the day was good ol’ vaseline to let it heal (with the dead skin on my lip cause I didn’t dare try to rub it off… not fun or pretty). The Laneige lip mask and La Mer lip balm really helped at night with soothing & healing too…. no irritation whatsoever. My lip is still a bit bright red and stingy when I apply basic lip balms or colored lip products, but at least it’s smooth again. Dang, I experienced this once before when I overdid a lip scrub, so I guess I gotta be more careful in the future. sheesh

I mean, I don’t typically use serums or facial skincare products on my lips, but sometimes it is hard to avoid getting them there if it is a sheet mask or a drip or something. I did recently start using a glycolic acid cleanser in the morning and I’m wondering if some of that dripped on my lips.

I find the best course of action for me is to use that Malin + Goetz lip moisturizer in the tube because it sticks around for longer than most lip balms. (I always add some to my order when I am buying foundation or setting powder at Bloomingdale’s because I don’t know where else sells it.)

Luna

Hi Ragan, Barney’s & Nordstrom’s sells Malin + Goetz products. That’s where I used to get them before I got heavy into beauty boxes 🙂

Addy

I’ve been a RosePost subscriber since the second box. Although the price point is a little steep, I found that I really loved almost every single item that’s been sent. I’ve used most items down to the very last drop, and have repurchased many of them on their website. I found that receiving products that I actually want, and use made this box worth it, versus the high value boxes where things remained unused. This was the first box that wasn’t a hit for me. I’ve gotta say, seeing the value vs. price this month stung a little since I wasn’t thrilled with the items. However, I haven’t used any of them yet, and I’m hoping that I’ll love at least one or two once I try them. I won’t cancel just yet, but hopefully they bounce back with something great next box! BTW, they have great customer service!
