Rocksbox is a designer jewelry styling and renting service. Members pay a flat rate every month to get unlimited access to the Rocksbox collection and the option to buy the pieces they love most at a discounted price. Right now, you can even get your first month of Rocksbox membership for free! (Read on to learn how, or check out our list of other free subscription boxes here!)
Upon subscribing, you'll take a "style survey," so Rocksbox can suggest jewelry pieces that fit your style. You can also browse their catalog and add pieces to your wishlist. Each month, Rocksbox will curate sets of three pieces to send your way, including at least one piece from your wishlist.
Try on the items in the box, and wear them as long as you'd like. From there, you have two choices. If you love any of the pieces enough to want to keep them, you can put your monthly "Shine Credit" towards your purchase.
Or, if you're ready for another style, return your box using the free shipping label and reusable envelope you got with your shipment. Shortly after, you'll get a brand new box of jewelry to enjoy!
This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Rocksbox Rental Jewelry August 2019 Review
Here's the info booklet that came with the jewelry set. It includes a product list with retail and member-specific pricing,
They also included a handy jewelry care card.
A free return shipping label is also at the bottom of the box.
FYI: The outer envelope that Rocksbox ships inside doubles as a return shipping envelope! Be careful as you cut it open—there's a second adhesive strip that can be used to reseal the envelope for its trip back.
Each jewelry item comes tucked inside its own protective pouch that can also be used as a polishing cloth.
Tess + Tricia Heart Charm Necklace - Listed Value $70.00, Member Price $67.00
This cute heart nailed some of my favorite jewelry trends: cute but still boho, simple, and layer-able. I like that it plays off of the super girly traditional heart charm look, but has been updated with a chunky chain and abstract detailing. My only gripe is that it is super lightweight. This is a personal preference but I find that weighty jewels feel more luxurious, especially around my neck.
ALEX AND ANI Blue Lotus Cuff Set - Listed Value $98.00, Member Price $94.00
These Egyptian-inspired stacking cuffs are really beautiful! They are also incredibly sturdy/weighty and are made in the US. Winning! I was a lot more in love with these than I expected and I think it is because they lend themselves so easily to mixing and matching with my other favorite pieces. I actually wore the two enameled cuffs out stacked with some of my vintage Southwestern silver cuffs and it transformed into a very Americana vibe. These miiiight be keepers!
Perry Street Julia Duster Earrings - Listed Value $60.00, Member Price $51.00
I am picky about jewelry and this was the one item I didn't have on my wishlist. It was also the piece I didn't like. I am so not a glam rhinestone and pearl girl! I do love a real freshwater pearl, but the ones in my collection are very imperfect in the best way or vintage. I always wear them with quirkier pieces to tone down the formality. These are far too "fancy" for me, though maybe on like New Year's Eve? I do love the length, but these are an easy return!
The Verdict: Rocksbox was fun this month. Two out of three isn't bad, especially since I can swap collections out so easily. The necklace was super cute, though it felt too lightweight for my tastes. I am really into the cuff bracelets and might keep them. They are too perfect for my jewelry vibes! I did not like the earrings at all, but that is the beauty of a rental service: I am not stuck with them!
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Every box is different and packed based on the customer's tastes and what's available at the time. You can, however, give the Rocksbox stylists a nudge by adding your favorite pieces to your wishlist!
Value Breakdown: Rocksbox membership costs $21.00 per month. At retail, the three pieces would cost me $212.00. With my Rocksbox discounts and the member pricing (including the buy-all-three-items discount, my $15 worth of Forever Credit that I have on my account, and the $21.00 of Shine Credit (the membership fee for the month, which goes towards your purchases), that price drops to $166.00.
