What’s inside may vary, but I loved that it included a handwritten note.

Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Mystery Items

Here are my bonus items! I tried to organize this review in the order of using the products, so the items are dispersed below.

Proscription Beauty Summer 2019 Beauty Essentials Box Review

Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Info

Here is the info sheet for more of the products.

Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer SPF 30

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer SPF 30, 2.5 oz – Retail Value $22

I love Kiehl’s, but I didn’t love this product as much as I expected to. It is a moisturizer with SPF, and it has the typical sunscreen smell that I do not love. If you have trouble committing to wearing SPF daily, though, this could be a great product to get in the habit of protecting your skin.

Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Hum Nutrition Glow Sweet Glow 1 Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Hum Nutrition Glow Sweet Glow 2

Hum Nutrition Glow Sweet Glow, 60 ct – Retail Value $25

I have tried samples of these supplements before, but I am stoked to receive the full-size container! This has hyaluronic acid and vitamin C to help hydrate skin, and they have a pleasant orange flavor. It would take 4-6 weeks of consistent use to really see if these make a difference, but so far so good.

Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Patchology FlashMasque Illuminate Eye Gel 1 Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Patchology FlashMasque Illuminate Eye Gel 2

Patchology FlashMasque Illuminate Eye Gel – Estimated Value $3 (buy a pack of 5 pairs for $15)

I love Patchology! These eye gels are made with green tea and vitamin C to help with dark circles, and I find them incredibly cooling and comforting to wear. Eye gels are one of my favorite self-care rituals, so while you only have to leave these on for five minutes to get the benefits, I leave them on for much longer.

Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Beautyblender Original 1 Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Beautyblender Original 2 Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Beautyblender Original 3

Beautyblender Original – Retail Value $20

I love my beautyblender sponge, and I will always be excited about getting a new one. I have used other sponges, but the performance of this one just does the job so well I somehow justify shelling out $20 for a replacement. This is my favorite makeup sponge that I have used, and it works well for applying foundation and setting powder as well as blending out liquid or cream blushes and highlight.

Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Lashes in a Box #21 1 Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Lashes in a Box #21 2 Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Lashes in a Box #21 3

Lashes in a Box #21, 1 pair – Retail Value $8

These lashes are made of human hair, and they made me realize I have no idea what material the other false lashes I use are made of. I trimmed these down a bit and didn’t have much trouble applying them, but the end result was actually so natural that I wasn’t a fan- I can get just as a dramatic look from layering mascaras without having to fuss with these.

Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Make-Up Atelier Eyelash Adhesive 1 Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Make-Up Atelier Eyelash Adhesive 2

Make-Up Atelier Eyelash Adhesive, Full-Size! Retail Value $7

You can’t have fake lashes without lash adhesive, and this is a big container that should last me a while. When I apply fake lashes, I apply a strip of glue to the back of my hand, wait a few seconds, and then press the band of the lashes to the glue. I wait a few more seconds before positioning them on my lash line, and then I hope for the best.  This glue lasted all night but didn’t remove any real eyelashes when I yanked these off at 2 am, so I am a fan.

Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Smashbox Studio Swag Eye Trio 1 Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Smashbox Studio Swag Eye Trio 2 Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Smashbox Studio Swag Eye Trio 3 Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Smashbox Studio Swag Eye Trio 4

Smashbox Studio Swag:  Eye Trio – Estimated Value $15?

I couldn’t find this set online, but I think $15 is a reasonable estimate for this trio. It contains minis of the Photofinish Under Eye Primer, Full Exposure Mascara, and Photo Finish Lash Primer.

Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Primer Step 1

I started with the eyeshadow primer from this Smashbox kit, and it really impressed me with how long my eyeshadow stayed on and how vibrant the colors were. I didn’t realize until after, but this is more so designed to use for concealer under your eyes rather than on your eyelids- oops.

Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Viseart Petite Pro 5 Soleil Eyeshadow Palette 1 Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Viseart Petite Pro 5 Soleil Eyeshadow Palette 2 Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Viseart Petite Pro 5 Soleil Eyeshadow Palette 3

Viseart Petite Pro 5 Soleil Eyeshadow Palette – Retail Value $30

I am in love with this palette- specifically the shade BonBon, a shimmery purple duo-chrome that leans pink. It really makes my eyes pop, and I have been wearing this shade every chance I get. I think all of the shimmers in this palette are fantastic, but the mattes perform well, too. Overall, I have been wanting to try eyeshadow from Viseart, and I would buy a different mini palette from them in the future based on my experience with this one.

Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Swatches

Here are all of the shadow shades swatched.

Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Base Shade Step 2

For my eyeshadow look, I started with Pastile all over my lid as a base shade.

Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Dark Purple Step 3

I then went in with the shade Lavender on the outer corners of my eyes and blended until my hands were tired.

Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Gold Step 4

Next was the gorgeous Marmalade on the inner third of my eyes.

Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Bon Bon Step 5

I finished off with BonBon applied in the middle of my eyelid with my fingers.

Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer 1 Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer 2

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer, 1 oz – Retail Value $36

This is the OG primer- though it has gotten a makeover or two, it still has that same velvety texture that makes my makeup glide on so smooth. It has a silicone base, so it won’t work well with water-based foundations, but I really like how it looks under my concealer and powder foundations.

Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Foundation Step 6

After that, I applied the Smashbox primer to my face and my usual foundation with my beauty blender.

Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - The Balm Bahama Mama Bronzer 1 Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - The Balm Bahama Mama Bronzer 2

BONUS: The Balm Bahama Mama Bronzer, Full-Size! Retail Value $20 (not counted towards the box value)

I have never been big on contouring, but I do like using bronzer to add warmth to the edges of my face. This is a matte bronzer that reminds me a lot of Benefit Hoola, and I appreciate that it doesn’t have orange undertones.

Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Bronzer 1 Step 7 Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Bronzer 2 Step 7 Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Bronzer 3 Step 7

It looked dark when I first applied it, but it blended out nicely.

Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Rose Gold 1 Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Rose Gold 2

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Rose Gold  , 1.7 oz – Retail Value $41

A full-size Becca highlighter in a box? Yes, please. The shade rose gold is a rosy-gold with warm pink undertones, so it isn’t the best match for my fair, cool-toned complexion. It is a little dark to use directly as a highlighter, but I really like how it looks mixed with my foundation for a soft, all-over glow.

Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Highlighter 1 Step 8

Here is how I applied the highlighter.

Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Highlighter 2 Step 8

And here is how it looked after blending.

Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Inglot AMC Gel Eyeliner in 83 1 Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Inglot AMC Gel Eyeliner in 83 2 Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Inglot AMC Gel Eyeliner in 83 3

BONUS: Inglot AMC Gel Eyeliner in 83, Full-Size! Retail Value $16 (not counted towards the box value)

I love that we received an eyeliner in a color other than black- and this dark purple ended up complimenting the eye look I went with really well. This had good staying power and didn’t smear.

Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Inglott Step 9

I used a random liner brush I had received from a subscription box at some point and pressed it against my upper lash line to add some definition.

Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Becca Ultimate Lipstick Love in Mauve 1 Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Becca Ultimate Lipstick Love in Mauve 2 Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Becca Ultimate Lipstick Love in Mauve 3

BONUS: Becca Ultimate Lipstick Love in Mauve, Full-Size! Retail Value $24 (not counted towards the box value)

This hyaluronic acid-infused lipstick has a satin finish that was extremely comfortable to wear. I didn’t use a lip liner when I applied it, and I had no issues with feathering.

Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Lipstick Step 10

I finished my look with a coat of the Smashbox primer, two coats of the Smashbox mascara, and the Becca lipstick.

Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Fitish Cool Down Spray 1 Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Fitish Cool Down Spray 2

Fitish Cool Down Spray, 4 oz – Retail Value $28

This is made with aloe, coffee extract, peppermint oil, and hemp oil. I found it slightly irritating that instead of coming out and saying this was made with cannabis oil, they used a plant emoji online, but the actual product packaging lists the ingredients fully and accurately. This was so cooling to spray on- it was refreshing while also setting my makeup, which is exactly what I need on these hot and humid summer days.

Proscription Beauty Box Summer 2019 - Finished Look

I used it to set my look, and I was really happy with the end results!

The Verdict: If you are a makeup lover, this box is a must buy. I was impressed with the number of full-size products and quality brands that were included, and this was a good mix of products I already know and love and brand new brand and product discoveries for me. If you include the value of the mystery bundle, this box has a total value of $295. Without the mystery bundle, the value comes a bit short at $235. Overall, I am still happy with the value I received, but that is something to be aware of!

The Wrap Up

Can you get this box if you sign up today? No. However, the Fall 2019 box is currently being offered.

Value Breakdown: This box cost $75 with free shipping and I calculated a total value of $235 not including the bonus bundle. That means you are paying approximately the following per item:

  • Kiehls: $6.93
  • Smashbox Eye Trio: $4.73
  • Hum Nutrition: $7.89
  • Smashbox Primer: $11.34
  • Patchology: $0.94
  • Beautyblender: $6.30
  • Make-up Atelier: $3.15
  • Lashes in a Box: $2.52
  • Viseart: $9.45
  • Becca Highlighter: $12.92
  • Fitish: $8.82

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

I love reading your reviews- you are subtlety hilarious, and I’m here for it. Also- I’m excited to try your lashes technique, I’ve never quite had success with them but your way sounds like it just might work for me!

For those that are interested in Viseart palettes, Sephora has 7 different palettes discounted, and with the VIB/Rouge sale, you can get an additional 15% or 20% off the discounted prices.

Love the step by step photos. This box looks AMAZING! But I went to the website and the next box, not so much. I think I will watch the reviews for a while.

This looks like a really nice box (and I love the extra little goody), but sadly nothing in the next box looks remotely appealing. My wallet is probably happy though. That Viseart palette is super pretty though.

Reply ButtonReply

Bonnie

That palette is $30 on Sephora, with the sale going on now it’s even less. If you have 20% it will be $24.

Pretty look… thanks fot sharing the review!

Too rich for my blood, unfortunately. 🙁

AWESOME review! That is my favorite eye look! Thank you so much for the amazing tutorial!

Great review and looks like a terrific box. I love that Viseart is included … such as a great brand. Too bad i have way too much product already! When i begin subbing again I would definitely consider adding this box.

Luna

Nice box! I’m not in the market for it right now, but this is one I’ll definitely keep my eye on. 🙂 I hope MSA continues to review future boxes!

I am soo tempted. This seems like a great deal. I have been wanting to try Viseart for a while, and my current beauty blender is pretty beat up. Both of those are already $50. Does anyone know if there are any coupon codes for this subscription? If I sign up, I’d like to get some sort of bonus, if possible.

Anna

The fall box is the one you’d get if you sign up now and the beauty essentials has Melt eyeshadow stack. If you sign up for their emails they’ll let you know when it’s available.

I haven’t seen any promos.

JustJese

Ummm. Did the BeautyBlender come exposed like that or was it in the original packaging like everything else featured here?

Reply ButtonReply

JustJese

Btw…great review. I’m thinking I may take the plunge, the box is featuring Danessa Myricks and Peter Thomas Roth for the upcoming kit.

Reply ButtonReply

Zo

What a fun review. Love the step-by-step photos. Final look is fantastic. I want to buy it but I really don’t want to spend $75 right now. I guess I’ll just try to swap for some of the items.

Jenn

This looks good. Wish I had the box reviewed here. Maybe once full spoilers are released and if it’s still available, I’ll make the plunge.

Reply ButtonReply

Jennie

Great review! Your look turned out great. Would get this but the price point is too steep for me.Maybe if they threw in the bonus items but even then it’s high.

Reply ButtonReply

Nina

Yup! That’s exactly how I feel. $75 isn’t a bad deal but if I’m going to be tempted to buy things I DEFINITELY do not need or have space for it’s got to be an exceptional deal 😂
