Penny + Grace Subscription Box Review – Sea Life Jewelry

Penny + Grace
4.5 overall rating
10 Ratings | 1 Reviews

Penny + Grace is a monthly jewelry subscription box specifically designed for people who love a minimalist, delicate aesthetic. Pick your preferred color of metal (gold, silver, rose gold, or "surprise me"), earrings or no earrings, and ring size (6, 7, or 8) and you'll receive a monthly set of jewelry to satisfy your tastes.

This is a review of the "Surprise Me" subscription with earrings and a size 6 ring for $19.99 a month.

According to the Penny + Grace site: "each delivery is guaranteed to contain a combined retail value of $55+ (USD) in varying jewelry pieces tailored to your color/metal choice." All jewelry is 100% lead and nickel free.

Each piece comes packed inside its own little drawstring pouch. They're perfect for travel to keep items from getting tangled and also work as little gift bags. Then, everything is packed into this blush faux leather pouch. This is the first month my jewelry hasn't come in the signature black canvas zipper pouch.

Penny + Grace "Sea Life" June 2019 Jewelry Review

This month, I received a coordinating pair of necklaces and a ring in rose gold. I usually receive an info card with my jewelry but there wasn't one included this month, so I'm going to estimate the values based on previous months.

Starfish Necklace - Estimated Value $26

I received two necklaces this month that can be worn separately or together for a stacked look. Both are 19" long and have 3 length adjustment levels, the shortest being 17." Since my subscription is set to "Surprise Me" for metal tone, I got all 18k rose gold dipped this month, which I love. This first necklace has a simple, naturally shaped starfish dangling from the chain.

Seahorse Necklace - Estimated Value $26

Here's the second necklace. It has a surprisingly detailed seahorse as a charm. I'm impressed that both sides of the seahorse are decorated with the same detail so no matter which way it hangs, you'll always see a good side.

Wave Ring - Estimated Value $18

The final piece this month is this simple wave ring in the same 18k rose gold dipped tone and delicate style as the necklaces. Like all of Penny + Grace's jewelry, this can be layered with other simple bands for a bolder look or worn alone for a minimal effect.

Here are the two necklaces worn together. To create a layered look I just hooked the starfish necklace clasp to the longest adjustment ring and the seahorse clasp to the shortest.

The Verdict: This month's Penny + Grace set is perfect for the summer and vacation season. Since I have gotten a little sun over the past few weeks, I'm loving the rose gold-tone with my skin. I love the variation in metal tones every month since I chose "Surprise Me" for that option.

The box costs $19.99, including free shipping, and the estimated value of the items inside (based on the values of previous months) is $70.

FYI- they don’t include the product info cards anymore, but there is a digital version in the shipment confirmation email.
